Forum Ranks for Regular Members

Well, I've been to a lot of forums. And they're all great just the really great ones have members' post count visible underneath their avatar, instead of on their profile. And to know who's who e.g. people who've been on the forum for ages/who's the new guy, you could devise forum ranks for members. Something like this would be ideal, just less Naruto-themed. I think this is a good idea because the new members would look up to and learn from the senior members. And along with that I think it will be a great feature that the AE community will enjoy.

Such a thing will inevitably lead to people going "Oh, I'm better then you cuz I have 1000 posts where you haz 67 LOLZ!" Plus, personaly I see little point in this other then bragging rights.

 I must agree with Megakyle here.
This has been discussed many times before, members ranks by posts will make more spam and more people posting just to raise their post count and rank.
To see who is new and who is old you can just click the member's name and you iwll see the date they joined, the number of posts they have and also the most current posts/threads. There's absolutely no way I see this working for the benefit of the forums or it's members.
Also isn't it a lot better to get ranked by surprise? To be awarded a rank in this forum is a reward and an accomplishment to be proud of :)

As the #1 poster, I have accumulated many posts. And I must agree with Kyle and Croncler. Rewarding members for posting will only lead to spam. I dunno about you, but I don't like spam at all. Neither do AKs. There is no efficient way to reward forumites in any way than how we already do.

Hmm. Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess it isn't such a great idea. But beware. I'll be back with more sanity-questionable suggestions.

Don't think it was a bad idea, forum ranks are fun, but I guess in thbis community, they just won't work so well.

 I'll have to agree with Croncler on this one, I'd agree on something like basing ranks off of activity, and how long you've been a member here, however if they'd choose to reveal the set amount of posts required for a new rank there'd be more spam.

The only way I would agree with this is for the other forums, like the art, L and L, and RPA. If you, say, be around these forums for so long, and have been a part of them in a positive way, you could have the title "Roleplayer" or "Artist" or "Scribe". It would be simple, but could also lead to a lot of title seekers coming to these forums simply for titles. Non serious RP'ers or artists...it would undermine the whole deal.

Well, a suggestion for Regular Members is a good ideas, but I would like to tell you that there is a rank for member here ---> Forum ranks, groups, and titles.

Remember that old threads are automatically deleted in certain boards, the post count title system won't work very great.
