While the Devs. are mainly focusing on the new classes that still need much work on... What about the old class, Tech Mage ? They are very UP. And I think everyone knows this... So do you guys thing that the Devs. Should focus on buffing Tech Mage or no ? Please explain.

i've seen tech mages getting easily beaten now. but if u were to buff tech mage, BH would be the weaker one and merc too. maybe buff the other classes except TLM.

I am not talking about a major buff, That will make Mages stronger than the Tlm. But that would be cool xD. I am talking about a small buff that will at LEAST put the tech mages at the same level as the other two original classes.

And 5 focus isn't really good with Mage, Well at least for me and my Weapons... And if I try and Abuse a stat, That will leave my Def/Res low. And if I try to get a high Def/Res, I have to waste Skills, and turns on the Shields. That will only last three turns. Sorry if you don't get what I am trying to say. It's kind of hard for me to explain.

no i know what you mean, i was mage for a long time, i just like to try classes, my biggest problem as a mage was that i tried to act like my home class, merc that doesnt work, a mage has to be a mage

^ we can always convince the devs. After all it is a PVP game, and PvP games need balance. The only promblem is, when the devs promise something. It takes over a year for them to make the feature. They focus on to much non needed stuff. We need balance, Not useless updates.

I seem to recall someone (I think it was Ashari) mentioning that all Classes should have as many options as Tactical Mercenaries. I don't think the original Classes have been forgotten, but the staff seems to be working on the new Classes at the moment, since they have the most "problems" in terms of balance.

There will most likely be a Balance Update next week. Since most of the new Classes' Skills were taken from the original Classes' Skill Tree, any changes could potentially affect the original Classes.

Ashari said that they SHOULD have as many options as a Tactical Merc., but the thing is mages don't, they have two builds. Which in most cases suck. Not trying to flame the staff, but why would they make three new classes. If the first three aren't even balanced ?

Though Ashari did mention about having other classes with as many options has Tactical Merc, I strongly disagree. Build flexibility is more important then options. Tactical Merc is an amalgam of the original three classes in various stages. What does this mean to the original three? This is going to be a very long trial and error for that team.

To give one option to provide flexibility, then the build team should think about taking another option so that class does not rely on convenience. When I see this class, I don't see tactical, I see simplicity. Tactical is about thinking. To gain one direction, one most sacrifice another.


As this game continues to level higher, this class will pose more issues because there are too many options. In many cases less is better in the long run.

@JZaanu: I can see how it would be a problem if only one Class had many different Build options while the others didn't. But it wouldn't hurt to give every Class more Build options. This way, you wouldn't be forced to change your Class if you wanted to completely change your Build.

However, I do agree that Tactical Mercenaries (currently) have an advantage because of their large quantity of simple Builds. But keep in mind that simplicity and variety are two different things. As Balancing progresses, I hope all Classes will have a wide variety of Build that will each require skill and careful planning.

I once was a Tech Mage.......true to not be balanced
Therefore I changed to a Blood Mage.....SAME SITUATION

I personally disagree with the arguable facts of all mages being UP. BloodMage definitely can hold it's own in battle if you actually try to create a good build and not just spam 5 focus.

Blood Mage make-up is more to BH and Merc class then actually a mage. The only thing about Blood Mage that is Mage is their 3 mage skills that need malfunction to be of any use in regard to damage.

There was a time a class had class masters. This game is focusing very much on Class Change feature and they choose to build around it. Now a player can being everything with class change or mix and match with all of these new classes. If these new classes had all new skills, new animations, new personality, then it would be more interesting to me, but all of them are recycled bits and pieces of each other. Everyone will adjust, because there is no choice. Will there be adjustments in the future, hopefully, but it will take time.

True Zean but some mages actually like playing 2vs2 more than 1vs1.Yesterday I lost 8 in a row and no,it's not cause of my build,it's cause I simply did not stand a chance against tactical mercs and BAD partners.We all know devs couldn't care less about 2vs2 but it exists and some mages would still like to play it.At least buff mages little bit to give us some fair chance.

For mages, one crit is a great advantage since it it not easy to pentrate tactical merc's def, I always fought equally 1vs1 and 2 vs 2 but for me 2 vs 2 is easier since I can depend on my partner but in 1 vs 1, I just fougth TLM and I win hardly but it takes a lot of strategy to defeat them, our skills are too weak so yes I agree we should have a buff.

The mage class had one build and that was heal looping, plain and simple. You can't get around that no matter what you do. Mages have tried +5 focus and support and those builds have been proven to be ineffective, they might win 1 out of 8 battles and it's usually because of luck.

Another reason why the class is so bad now is because of casting, casting takes way too much energy. If we were to reduce the cost of the spells in half then we're going somewhere.

The second reason why the class is so bad is the choice of staves. Ever since beta, mages have had one physical staff and that was the overload staff which was crap, they didn't receive another physical staff till the end of Gamma, and believe me those staves were just as bad and useless in battle. Mages cast spells, they don't attack. When has anyone ever seen Harry Potter attack someone? Never, he used his staff most of the time.

My final note on this class that finally killed it was agility and the field medic cooldown. The job of a mage was to defend and heal. All they do now is defend and simply die. It's quite sad to see the mightiest of classes killed by forum complainers.

As long as Tactical Mercs have Reroute, they can recycle all their non prep skills. And as long as there is Hybrid, the opposing player will have to work extra hard to surpass it. It is definitely the easiest class to use at the moment. This is the premium class now, and viewing all the class changes and new accounts created for this class, it has done very well.

I really ponder what the build balance team will actually "Buff" within other classes to make it the same tier as Tactical Merc.

Well, the way I see it, Tactical Mercenaries aren't unbeatable -- just very hard to beat. Why? Because they have many useful Skills that can be put together in a number of different ways. This puts the other Classes at a disadvantage, because they do not have as many good options as Tactical Mercenaries.

Now, what if every Class had as many options as Tactical Mercenaries? Tactical Mercenaries would no longer have an advantage (or as much of an advantage as before); they would be an average Class.

Hopefuly that will happen soon. Although i still keep a 93 percent win ratio. That is mostly because of npcs.

Thank you for your feedback Lectix. I am one of those individuals who has been supportive and critical on many fronts. Being a forum poster on various forums, any views or thoughts I receive from fellow players in-game and also my own observations, I feel, out of consideration for them, the game, and myself, I must express on any matter that is of issue. I can be difficult, but I have high expectations of this game, and like many others who have supported this game, we do care about it too.

When I play games like Wizard101 etc Mages are life they heal all the time thats why mages are probably the best in most MMORPG game
