Censoring nothing thats bad?

I private chat my friends alot, and when i write a long setence, nothing even close to a disrepectful, but something still gets censored. It's usually some part of the beginning of the setence. A few seconds or minute later, i can type the setence with no problem or censor. This is very annoying and i'm wondering if this would get fixed or something?

 Yep super annoying isn't it? Until peeps realize this is online and there gonna say what they want anyway it's gonna continue...

They gotta have something in place to make the unintelligent peeps feel better :P

These can all be misread and mess up your message

im aware of how long this has been here, but i quit epicduel for awhile and just came back not to long ago. I wanna bug them, try and get them to see my post and comments about this. Like really its uber annoying.

 Unfortunately this is a side effect of having a chat filter. Sometimes normal phrases do get caught. Something you should watch out for is that the filter considers any text you type as a single line of text. So even if you wrote one word in battle and another in a PM box, the filter can mistake that if it forms a word that's blocked.

If you find a common phrase that wrongly gets filtered, just leave a post in the Chat Bugs thread and Titan can work on getting an exception added.


Perhaps EpicDuel should look into adopting AQW's system where the blocked words are just replaced by asterisks but the message goes through. That would save everyone from the inconvenience caused by filter mistakes.

That's not a bad idea.
Would that not be a temporary solution, though?

It seems that the root of the problem is the chat filter.
Of course, we have to have some system in place to placate us until we can (if we can) fix that entirely.

yes, but some things should be censored but only are when another words next to it. Example, i think we all know when you put the f and the k together we know what a persons trying to say, but it still goes through. But when you put a u or you after it, it censors. Shouldn't the 2 letters be censored all together? These filters confuse me!

look at words in between a word in the start of a word and the end of another that is bad

^haha right? someone could easily by-pass the censoring of "your mom" into "your mam" i mean it's going to sound different, but you know what there saying to you.

In my area, we do say, "mam".

I know right it's mega annoying, sometimes "hey" gets censored and some times it doesn't. Weird
