Beep Beep! ArchKnight AQ / ED


 Just thinking how creative some builds can be in Epic Duel, so this thread came to mind.

1. What was your first build in ED and did you enjoy it, if not why?


2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?


3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why?


4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this?

1. What was your first build in ED and did you enjoy it, if not why? Well, I had no idea how EpicDuel worked so I really like technician on Tech Mage. I maxed Technician, and then all my stats were energy, I bought no new weapons till level 24 and my other stats were spread wild across the tree like crazy.


2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so? Well, there was really no way for it to go except for robot and plasma bolt maybe but I did make a build that maxed technician and at one point my technology was 45 (base) + 45 (enhancements) + 45 (technician)


3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why? I do not like support builds as they seem so boring and the effects do not look as cool like artillary strike does not look that cool.


4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this? Well, there was my build that maxed technician, maxed plasma bolt, and then maxed reroute and rest of skills in defense matrix. My gear was BunnyBorg armor, Charfades Staff, Energy Eggzooka, and Plasma ACP. It was really cool when it got 135 technology (45+45+45) and then plasma bolted for tons, used gamma bot twice, and then hopefully plasma bolt one more time.

My first build was a strength bounty hunter, and it was pretty good, except that my stat tree was spread out with no "focused" skills except for Multi. However, I beat Hank at level 27 with it..

2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?

Fix the skills, I was too stupid at that time..

3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why?

i can't remember :/ i can remember my first good build and that was to nerf my opponenets dex then buff mine

2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?
had more HP lol had like 60 something

One I really didn't like was STR bounty hunter, never really liked playing them

Dex mage, I enjoyed it for the blocks.

2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?
I think I could have gave it more support

5 bonus for merc, I felt so restrained.

4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this?
Strength mage with staff, not much people used high strength for mages in early beta.

I think i could of picked up a trick or two from my current Caster build and not use max DA but insted 7 DA and added afew points into Heal which was basicly unheard at the time

Malfuntion/Support/Sword based mage builds they just arent my style even when i fight NPC i use caster builds

Back when i first started i was part of the masses that was good with a Caster build so that counts as standing out right

my first proper build was a multishot 2v2 build it was epic. I loved killing 2 mercs who had like 30 hp left and thinking they would win. only to be destroyed my multishot ^_^ they got so mad it. I believe the multishot is the coolest looking of the mulits. When you hit them it looked like they were being killled by a gun XD. What stopped me using it was that became too weak -.-

A build i found hugely bad was the grenade poison build it just didnt sit well with me it took too long for it to do any real damage on mages of any type

The build i believe stands out above the rest is my support build its a little different from others because i only use a level 8 multi and other things that i can use :)

 1. Everything was completely random at first until I reached level 30 and made my loop heal Mage during Azraels release. Was pretty epic.

2. Not much to improve it and the increased cooldown ended it.

3. Str bounty. Gave it a shot quite a few times in the past but I just love 2v2 too much and it wasn't too good on the ratio.

4. An all out support bounty. Lol stood out alright because I had never seen one before. After a few runs I figured out why haha.

1. What was your first build in ED and did you enjoy it, if not why? I started as a BountyHunter. I had no definite built, was all over the place. I was convince my multi was good imao.


2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so? I didn't know about the stats progression chart, the buff and debuff, about forums, had no tutorials and everybody was a complete ass towards me, answering all my questions by calling me ''noob''. Even when I said what does ''noob'' means ?


3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why? I don't like strength builts, of any classes. They are too repetive.


4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this? I liked my TLM 5 focus cross over strength/support built. It was very fun to play and I had lots of options. For now I am still a TLM, spamming support (129) because the only battles I do are rigged fights with friends.

 1) Caster Mage
2) Nothing tbh, I had malf, reroute, and overload with decent support and dex. I also used teh STat Progressions chart.
3) STR focus BH, horrible. STR Mage, stupid. Sup merc, sorta strange: I did 2vs2 with 47 ep and lvl 9 multi. I just multi e booster multi again on 1 person.
3) Erm....I accidentally point 5 points in SC once with a sword mage, I thought it was deadly aim (stupid me)

My first varium build was a Frostbane BH one made by Shaniqua when I was in TSAAS, which was 5 focus-ish.
My first non-varium build was poison/smoke massacre build. Those days were so fun. :D

1. What was your first build in ED and did you enjoy it, if not why? I used my anti-mage build (which makes caster builds un-effective) and yes, I enjoyed it but sadly thos build only worked on one class.


2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so? Well.. if I only knew what was I doing when I was a total newbie i could have improve it, well it stopped me from using it when I realized I got such a terrible ratio xD


3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why? I have tried alot of builds like.. Str build,Dex build,Support build,Tech build & Support build,5 focus build etc.. I actually like all of them ^_^



4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this? Well the build I made that stand out from the rest is my Str build,Dex build and my 5 Focus build, I tried random builds until they work.

I thought it was " cool" to put all your points into plasma bolt. I liked hitting high numbers. After that I tried doing plasma rain builds and supercharge builds and high hp (130 at lvls 25-27) builds. After that I got the hang of epicduel.
2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?

If I realized that you need more than lvl 1 reroute
3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why?
Insane support ( 100+) Mage builds.

4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this?
I found that 5 focus wasn't working, so I tried high strenght. I get very fast npc kills and high %, and it's original ( kinda).

1. The first "real" build I made that I actually planned out was an EMP/Cheap shot build as a bounty hunter. It had level 7 EMP and cheap shot, 7 smokescreen and one massacre. You could use smokescreen+emp+cheap shot, or smokescreen+massacre. I remember a professional player tell me it had potential, which made me very proud of it.

2. While still a bounty hunter I revisited this build using energy blades with great success. Definitely my favorite strength BH strategy, though not as effective as the classic high str/hp. I can't really think of other ways to improve the build that I didn't already employ, but it would be fun to see how it holds up with level 33 and Telsa armor to back it up.

3. Anything high-tech. I just don't like those builds for some reason, even as a Tactical Mercenary. Even when I use robot builds I always get way more dex than tech. I simply despise the idea of having low dex.

4. My favorite build of all time is probably the Ebuild. Named to fit my original name- Giras the Ebil. It had low strength and tech and very high dex and support. The skill tree featured max reflex boost and level 6 stun grenade. This provided a very high damage grenade with a hefty stun rate using a skill practically no one else uses. I've refined and redone the build several times -- 5 focus versions, 1 focus versions etc. etc.

My first build I actually made/planned was max shadow arts, max blood lust, and max smoke screen with 1 massacre. and I got lucky and beat fay beee with it

I was new to this game, so I just pilled stats everywhere and think about the skill tree, it was like 5 or 6 in each caster skill lol xD

2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?
Caster skills need a buff and thanks God, it will be buffed, it is already time to be buffed.

3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why?
I tried insane support build, it was effective but boring.

4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this?
I did a malf + plasma bolt build, it has work really good and I make a build adjustments just a few days ago, and it works better than I thought :P, if you want to see it, you can search it in battle strategy TM lvl 33: Efficient Plasma Bolt Build

I really don't remember, but it was inspired by a double strike build made by Golden. Theres a video of it on youtube i think.

2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?

I shouldve usedd bezerk instead, but the video said double strike, so I used double strike.

3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why?

Support merc. This is by far (IMO) the MOST BORING build I have ever tried. Aux, art strike, gun, heal, Rage Aux, hope for crits and deflects. I have never hated a build more. Although I didnt mind my version of it, which used beta weps, had 130+ support, and could use art strike TWICE with a heal. Now that was fun!

4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this?

150 hp with 100 str as a mage (using betas). It was fun, and reasonably succesful (for a str mage, that is).

The Classic Healer Mage: Mid-Heal, Mid-High HP, Max Reroute and High Deadly Aim. This was an awesome build with an insanely high win rate. Too bad it's no longer available.


2. What do you think you could have done to improve on said build, and what may have stopped you from doing so?
The Field Medic Nerf stopped improvements.

3. Which build/s have you tried, that have not been to your liking, and why?
High HP Healer Mage was terrible and unlucky. The build hit low damage and was terrible against Bounty Hunters, I don't know why so many praised Xendran for coming up with it. Meanwhile, Strength builds are frustrating to play due to the high amount of blocks in this game.

4. What build/s have you made or tried that seem to "stand out" from the rest, and what have you done to accomplish this?
The late poison build on TLMs worked extremely well in countering tanks. It took a little thinking after making a poison build to realize the best timing for poison.
