It seems half of players at lower levels use only multi hitters and the other half of the lower levels use an empowered one target attack skill. Then when they have no energy they have no other means and their attacks are futile. I made a mercenary using hybrid, field medic, and bunker buster and I do well in 2v.2 or 1v.1 however the partners I get usually only have a multi hitter then they do no damage.
I suggest to any lower level out there to get another skill, you can keep your multi but please have a second form of attack because if your main source of damage fails then how do you win? Try emp attacks (EMP grenade/ Assimilation/ Atom smasher) and stat buffers so you can really help out your teamate by rendering the opponent's attacks useless. Remember you have a PRIMARY, a SIDEARM, and an AUXILIARY. Try out builds with other skills that simply don't use raw outgoing damage and remember how stats effect your combat!
Multi hit skills are much too redundant, remember to cover your weaknesses; thanks.
