 I sent lawman a letter 8 days ago and he has not even read it, and so i continue to be harassed by this person. Can i get any sort of help here or are people just free to harass all day long and noone does a thing about it?

We can say that the staff you have pm'd might be inactive for a while or been long gone. People aren't free to harass each other here and that's how staffs would like to work it out here. If you have sent a letter, he may read it once he had already been notified in his inbox. Please wait for a reply and don't feel like you are ignored.

 That is very well said, and i respect that. However 8 days is plenty long enough to have to wait for a response, and if that person is not available, should there not be a replacement of some sort.I mean to try to be a little more professional, Id expected a much faster response.Since i rarely ever complain or ask any help of any of the staff at all, this one time, im being seriously harassed and in a very demeaning way, and would like to be able to enjoy the game without such horrible things being said to me by this person.

 All ED in-game mods have access to The Lawman. Like it's been mentioned in a thread concerning the reduced response time it was mentioned several times by multiple people that waiting for around a week for a mod to deal with an in-game issue was much better than most other games they played where it could take months at a time for anything to happen. The in-game mods are very busy with real life issues. The fact that ED staff posted openly about accepting mod applications is a sign that they are looking for new mods to help keep the system flowing quickly even if a few mods go inactive. Right now I would say there may be around 4 mods active at this time.

As for when he'll reply, I should say soon. After checking the last time he's logged into the forums, which is today, he should be getting on the problem. Also, he may not respond to you, but he may just deal with the problem.
