I am just curious , so you're expected to fight people 5 lvls higher with - on your equipment ?
I think its a bit odd that a lvl 29 fights a lvl 34 but loses because there is some imaginary force blocking him from dealling damage with the same equipment

People should be happy they can even equip higher items at all...
and they should definatly be happy it's only - damage

You know why?
You can fight someone 5 lvls higher then you
Why should you be penalised for trying to balance things ?

Haha this is great XD

It is a higher level weapon it has to have a penalty for being used before you are the appropriate level. Be happy they don't take away stats also as a penalty!

Oh wow , everyone's a bit smug about being a lvl 34 now , arent we ?
I'm discussing the balance here , Not the actual equipment , how do you expect someone to win when 70% of his fights are 4 lvls higher with much better equipment?

You only do 1 damage less per level difference ( capped at -5 )
You still end up with the Stats of that of a lvl 34 item...

Like I said, you should be happy that you can equip higher lvl equipment...
Statwise you actualy still have a chance against higher lvl players...

Most of lvls 34 go into 1vs1 for easy wins. If you want to win more try 2vs2 or fight NPCs. You could also try doing 1vs1 on Exile (I meet a lot less fully equipped varium players there).

 Well if you don't want that penality, just use your Level weapons. With encumbrance, you will deal same damage as weapons of your Level but get more stat points than weapon of your Level.
As they said, be glad you can equip the items and get small power boost rather than do it like other games have - you must get to that Level to use the weapons, just like it was before encumbrance was introduced.

 The system is the same for lvl 1 can pair up vs lvl 5s.

It is a state of progression in the game. Cap level players have the most advantage and every level that is lower has a reduced advantage.

Until the game has continued rise in players throughout the day, the +5/-5 is most available for immediate battle.

To reduce this number, it would be a longer wait time.

on my non-var alt, i win fights agains people 5 lvls higher then me all the time >.>

So you want to be able to equip Lv34 gear at Lv29 and not get penalized for it?

Then they might aswell change the gear to Lv29.

If you don't want that then why don't you use Lv29 gear?

I will say this again.....be happy that you can still use it.

Also, Rabble's duties include balancing equipment not to forget. If you think that your case is very important you should give him ideas on how you think encumbrance can be balanced.

 Tip: Play 2v2 if you cant handle 1v1. You always get fair teammates there.

You have to keep in mind you don't always play players who are 5 levels higher, and yes, people who are more experienced deserve to win, they have unlocked more power. It's not fair if all the 29's can beat the 34's, it's better that sometimes 29's win.

You should also keep in mind that encumbrance was introduced a short while ago.

I remember figthing my way to the level cap with poor weapons as many level 34 did before that was introduced. You will find little to none compasion for your problem.

why is it such a big deal anyways? i havent seen anyone complain about their weapons or their stats.

Also remember that you can fight npc same or 5 levels above you. I believe that most of the ones fighting their way up do npc and 2v2. But I wish you luck. :)

First of all: No you are not expected to deal the same damage from your weapons. The purpose of being able to equip these higher level weapons is not for the damage, but solely for the extra stats these equipment bring.

Secondly: It is not impossible to beat a higher level player, even with them having varium. All it takes is a good, creative build and to play smart. I've had plenty of low level non var mercenaries beat me, only because they played with strategy.

Also to add to this, if you're a lower level you do have more of a chance of having a 1st turn advantage anyway, so it's very possible to win against a person 5 levels higher.

None of my characters are a lvl 34 with the highest one being a lvl 32 TLM I have won more than I lost
to players who are a higher lvl than myself but not by a wide margin, and get called a noob for healing
or being told that I am a hacker. I do not know you personally but after a lost do you try and evaluate
what it is that they did to win, because knowing is half the battle. I would not mine a lower lvl person
having a 70% or better against a person of higher lvl at all. As long as he or she has earned it, but to
give a lower lvl the same abilities as a higher lvl makes no sense. Then where is the logic in leveling up
to get strong, as with anything there is a process and a growth and with that growth it if a person is wise
and has learned some lessons along the way will become very formidable. Keep fighting and never ever
give up with out trying. That is what I do even when I know the odds are against me.
