I was just wondering where the staff warned that the bunny weapons would be going rare today... The only sources I could find are twitter and the epic duel wiki but those posted it on the day of. I was looking forward to getting some of the bunny gear but I learned 2 hours before the fact that they would be going perma rare . I get varium by cashing is my spare change that I've saved since I would probably spend to much otherwise ^_^ but that is not the point. The point is that it takes me a trip out to my coinstar machine to turn those spare coins into varium so I need at least a days notice if I don't want to miss gear before it goes rare.

Also I would like to request that if you do give that days notice (and I'm sure you guys knew this last week), please add it to the DNs. Why should I have to scour through my twitter feed to find out whats happening in a update when there is an entire page for that purpose. If possible it would be great to have the opportunity to buy the bunny weapons next week to make up for the lack of warning.

I hope this message find you as constructive criticism instead of a useless complaint, since that is how I intend it to be. You guys are doing a great job, but there are always things that can be improved (and I'm sure you have plenty of ideas for improvement from yourselves and even more from others ).

Hey there Quasidig ;).

If you do have your desired questions about Epic Duel, perhaps go and head over towards the Q&A? And I'm pretty sure suggestions don't belong here, so not the greatest place to ask them. Instead you can browse through the ED Suggestions and possibly post your ideas/suggestions there :).

Whoops I'll have to post this is the right place ^_^. Thanks for pointing that out.

Santa, they have always announced when things were going rare even when it was "obvious." Besides the bunny saga ended last week.

Well Cindy. May I ask you who you guys not tell it on the official forum instead of on twitter?!

And another crazy idea, write it in the Design Notes instead of some random facts about insects there...

I knew about it from on the forums but as I mentioned before Cindy

It's sometimes best to post it in the Design Notes, Not everyone has Twitter or has/knows the Facebook page ( I clearly didn't lol )
People are easier to try and look at the Design Notes for Info

 @Oba- I don't actually have the permissions necessary to post the Design Notes myself, so tweeting, Facebooking, or posting on the forum are what I can do (and I didn't feel the need to do so when someone else had already posted it on the forums).

Im not saying its bad what your doing I follow all of you on twitter, but Im 99.9% sure not every EpicDuel player have a facebook or twitter account. How are they supposed to get informed then? And there is more than just you in the EpicDuel team. If you dont have "permission" to write good-to-know information in the DN's, well cant NW or Titan do it then?

Obviously you dont have to listen to this, but I for one think you guys did wrong to not mention that the bunny items were leaving this update.

 I may have seemed a little defensive up there, but I simply meant to point out that I tried. And I am terribly sorry that the information didn't get out there as effectively as it could have.

I don't think Oba missed anything. It's just that, Majority of the players eather don't have twitter or don't know the facebook page.
(again, I didn't even know about the Facebook page, so lucky that 1: I didn't like anything this Easter and 2: I keep an eye out on the forum's Twitter announcements.
So they rely on the design notes, and when the design notes are incomplete and they post on twitter ' extra, bunny's leave on friday '
that majority of people don't know about it meaning they are left in the dark. I would suggest posting both Facebook link and Twitter links again in the
next Design notes so those people have those aswell but still update the Design notes with valuable content about said items being added or removed.

I, as a pretty "old" and experienced ED player who follow the whole ED team on twitter (not all the new ones :P), and keep checking the forums etc. Well to me its not really a issue, as I find out most things in one way or another.

To me it dosent really matter if I got informed or what so ever in the DN, as I knew when the items were leaving since I saw it on twitter and your post Fay. But if a little kid who not have any experience with this forum and maybe havent been playing ED for just that long yet, how is he/she supposed to know? It took me quite awhile to even find out that there was a forum for EpicDuel. Even though I was on the old one.

I can take it that you guys not post things on the forums, as most things pop up here anyways from other players. But what I feel is that the DN's need to be used what its supposed to be used for. Now as the EpicDuel team have increased it might will be easier to hear whats gonna happen, who knows!

Thank you for all the responses. It seems that warning was given it simply depends where you look. I have a similar situation to Oba, since I follow all of the ED team on twitter and generally know how to find information. But this particular fact even I happened to miss.

My bookmark for ED happens to be the DNs page so I'll get a majority of my ED news from there, but I still appreciate some of the teasers on twitter. What I'm trying to say is that I think that most of the player base checks the DNs when they want to find out about a future update and there are other players that use other sources to find out supplemental information.
The question is what information should be where?
Should all information (teasers, update info, stuff happening with the ED team) be included in the DNs? Personally I think a lot of that is fine to post on twitter, FB, forums, but there should always be the meat of the design notes included, which IMO is the update content.

I would agree with Oba, that DNs should be used for what they are suppose to be used for. Although it is also entirely appropriate to post other information that is relevant to the poster (such as the insect facts).

As you may have noticed, its not the biggest deal to me that I missed the bunny weapons (they will be replaced eventually anyway ^_^), but rather I care that the whole content issues and where it is posted is resolved. If that happens then a lot of people will be happier, including the ED team I hope. I brought up this issue since people disagree on this particular subject and I hope we can all find a solution.

Also I would like to reiterate, the ED team does a great job, its not easy balancing the needs of their varied player base, so my hat is off to you for that. Also at some point this game is designed by them and they have the right to go in whatever direction they want (including what information to post and where).

Since a lot of this is relevant to what you are doing Cinderella, I want to say that you have done a great job handling many of the DNs posts and keeping many players informed on twitter. You have to deal with a lot of public scrutiny, but I also want you to know that there is much more praise out there that you deserve.

Personally, I didn't have any issues with this. If you want to stay updated, then get on Twitter and subscribe to them. Like the page on Facebook so that you can get any other updates. Join the forums to keep up on the information. Read the Design Notes and talk to other players.

I honestly think that it would be nice for the Devs to re implement the Easter weapons for just one week. The warning was just too fast for anyone to have noticed.

Sounds like we could be a little better about announcing things like this everywhere in an official manner. Will bring it up to the team next week.

Definitely don't put the blame on Cindy, she is only able to announce what she's aware of, and we probably didn't mention it early enough. Just a miscommunication on our part. :)

I was pretty sure that the bunny weapons were going to leave, but when it was 2 in the after noon and I got the server update message when I was less then 700 credits away from the last gun, i was a little upset. I was counting on a normal late afternoon/early evening update.

I have a face book but I didn't know there was an epic duel page. About the only time I have ever gone on twitter is when a picture is linked to it from the forums.

I am glad that they stayed a week past when the saga ended but I missed every warning about their disappearance.

I think in addition to a more advanced warning in a prominent location, there should be a set time or at least a general guide line for when the servers update. I know not everyone is a last minute kind of guy like I am, but when "last minute" happens hours before I anticipated then it throws me off a little.

Do I think the lack of warning warrants another week with the weapons? No, Easter's long gone, the saga's gone and we had our chance. No matter how much I'd like them to come back, I don't think it would be right. It's my fault I couldn't get it in time.

While we are on that idea, how about more info about the next impending release in these design notes? The design notes as of late are starting to go from barely any release data to livejournal entries...
