Here is my opinion on EpicDuel: When I started playing this game I enjoyed the levelling and learning aspect. When most things are new, it is difficult to be bored then, no? Unless you are someone like me with an attention disorder. Anyways, I entered EpicDuel at the same time I purchased Beta gear, which I started using at level 12. I was still learning EpicDuel but because of the Beta gear I had little trouble in PvP. It is about level 25 when most players are using a Support Tech Mage if you know what I mean... they were everywhere in the game. Why be THAT? I could only imagine that because it was an overpowered setup that everyone used it for either wins or ratio or power. I rarely saw someone without one of the 2 overused builds. Well, being the Hipster that I am, I used a Stun Grenade build on top of Smokescreen. I still managed a 2:1 ratio amongst the masses. Later on many players changed to Strength Bounty Hunters and I changed to a Dexterity Tech Mage. Still, I managed a 2:1 ratio. Everytime I play there would be about 2 build setups that most people use. Today there are countless Strength and EMP Cyber Hunters who often fail at my feet and the many Strength Blood Mages who SOMETIMES overpower me in damage while I use a mixed Tech Mage setup. Where has the ingenuity of the players gone? Are some players so weak in their concious as to give in and jump on the bandwagon? It doesn't stop there, after those overused builds are nerfed they would jump to whatever build is approved by the other senior players (such as he who designed Strength Tactical Mercenaries). And yet, few people ever develop a standout build of their own for what reason? Laziness? Really. The most serious problem with PvP here is that everything is about damage this damage that. Fireball and Berzerker only ever happens once! If someone gets past that assault then what is left besides low Dexterity low Technology characters with high damage Primaries and Sidearms? Spam spam and spam those attacks. Take away those attacks and you have a nekkid Bloodlust build that gets dummied by defensive builds! I think we should stop this raid of nonsensical builds and OP jumping just because it only harms the classes that ARE popular. If you were a Malfunction Tech Mage and the majority jumps to your class and exploits your Plasma Bolt for example, how is that clean? The game is relatively new minus the ownership changes, so we have many parts of this game that are unstable really, but is reacting on a level of mass influence the real answer? I do not wish to see the masses of jumpers ruin yet another skill(s).
