Chapter 5-Doom in Deorm
Almost immediately, I felt light, and guess that Andy must have felt the same. Every thing goes dark, and we felt that we were flying, further and further away from where we were supposed to be. Just then, every thing came into focus.
"Aww! Where are we?"Andy squirmed. We looked around and saw nothing but mist. A foul smell hung in the air and we covered our nose for our dear life.
"So are we going to find that Sandlerf here?" He asked.
"Aren't we just here to find for clues?" Replied I."Of course, it would be much better if we could find him here."
We continued our journey, hitting tree branches. For once, I thought that the trees were alive, since they somehow holds on to us, stopping us from moving forward. There were splashing sound of water and roars of wild animals. We shivered even in our cloaks.
"Darn it!" I exclaimed to the bat that flew pass me and laid droppings on me. I could hear the giggle of Andy and instantly, my face turned as red as a beetroot.
"Now what!" I exclaimed. I wanna get into fights, and not stay here forever.
"All right, let's continue." Andy sighed. We continue our journey through the forest of Deorm. Suddenly, I felt myself light, before dropping into a hole(or maybe a tunnel?). The fall seems never ending and I felt myself banging onto the walls of the tunnel.
"Are you alright?" I heard Andy shouted when I reached the ground with a big thud.
"What do you think? No, of course." I answered back."I'm going to find my way out of here." I traveled deeper into the hole(some how remind me of Aria in Wonderland) but nothing, other the creepy roots that hand over my head. I felt a tap on my head and looked up. Just roots. The place is definitely a nightmare. I continued walking, before I fell into a swamp. I tried to escape, but the weight of the armor just pulled me down. Good bye dear world, I thought to myself, before I blacked out.
"Woah! Where was I?" I woke up with a start. A few torches lit the way. The place where I was at seems like a doorway to something. I continued walking even deeper, while wondering how did I survive, and how could I breath. I was attacked by a few irritating slimes and some sewer mutants on the way before I bumped into something hard. I squinted my eyes and take a close look at what was in front of me. It was a gate, with a picture of some angel-like thing as a seal.
"So I had to break to seal and escape?Hmm, no problem." I said to myself. I charge myself up and deal a powerful strike. I could felt the whole cavern shaking. Rocks tumble and dusts everywhere. Finally, when vision came into focus, the door was still there, without a single crack.
"What?!" I exclaimed. "Am I gonna stay here forever?" That was when I saw some words engraved on the door.
To open the door you need to know this:
Some either me or you is feared of sting.
However, it can't be feel or touch,
Yet, you'll need to sacrifice to get out.
A part of it gone will bring no harm,
To a great hero that stands in front.
Even if you pass the seal, you'll need,
To answer a riddle by the Sphinx.
She will kill you if you cannot,
And you'll be trap here, fear not!
But save me lord, and I'll get you free,
Out of the cavern happily.
"Hmm...something that everyone has," I thought to myself,"and it feared of sting. Something that cannot be feel or touch, that means it is not a matter. Lemme see...Pride? Courage? or what. A part of it gone will bring no harm, to a great hero. Well, pride gone is good for everyone. So I think it is courage." As I said the word 'courage', the ground shook and the door opened. I immediately get though the door and to my surprise, saw...nothing. It was empty, and there were 5 exits. 4 on the left, 1 in the front. A cross-like stone stood beside me. And on it was another riddle:
I am the lord of the battlefield,
Without me and the army falls.
As you see, there are 5 exits,
Where 1 leads out, and the others doom.
Wherever you go, trust the lord,
Or at least someone, that's beside you.
"Again?" I sulked. "Now let's see. Lord of the battlefield. Well, that's the general. Trust someone beside you..Hey that's me! Don't get distracted. First there's the army. Which is a whole row of fighters, so the 4 exits on the left represents the fighters, and the one beside you is the exit to the front!"
I immediately dashed to the exit, when suddenly and bunch of bats flew out. I fight my way through and finally saw light, before I fell in another hole. When I woke, I saw Andy.
"Aww! What happened?" I asked, holding to my throbbing head.
"An captured angel in the cave heard you, use his lessened power and cause a hole to appear, thus you dropped into his cell. However, when a human entered the cell, the charm that held the angel there broke and thus he is freed. He saved you and brought you here."
"Sounds like some fairy tale." I said, "Found any traces of Sandlerf?"
"No, I think we had to head further South." Andy replied.
"Well then, let's go!" I exclaimed and jumped onto my feet. I will captured and slain Sandlerf!
