I think that it would be helpful if you could reply to a clan recruitment page. That way, you could submit your application there and you won't take up the leader's inbox space and it will be there and easy to access.

No, it would not be helpful. You are allowed to make a separate thread inside the Discussion area about your clan for discussion per the new rules, but the Clan Recruitment area is basically a giant gallery of the clans for prospective members to browse and select the clan that they want to join.
