So how this works is for instance if someone changes their ED name then you want to search them but it doesn't go,it directs you to the new name's char page. Like if my friend gets hacked and the hacker changes the name and I wanna see my friend's account after the hack but it's not there anymore,it goes to the new name.

How can we be a Master of Disguise if people can find us by searching our old name?!

Anyways I would want to have the option to disable the redirect to our new character page if we want.

He means it by if you get hacked, there's a way to recover your account... I think?

I don't think so. I think he wants to be able to find his friend's character page but cannot due to the account's name being changed. His suggestion is that if we search a character's old name, it get's redirected to it's new name.

Useful though, Metallico.

@Mr. Clean XD
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by if he gets hacked?
Your quote was just an example by I Am Your Afterlife. of why this could be useful.

He used an extreme example.

He simply means that your player can be searched if your old name is searched, his system will redirect your search results to the new name.

Great idea, however the reason why we have not done anything like this before, is that quite a few people change their name to either get away from an old name (and possibly reputation), and/or they possibly have a bad name, and have to change it. Now this would remove the option to possibly change to get away from an old name, unless there is an option to turn it off... That would be incredibly hard to code, and all for a feature that is not completely needed.

it could be tricky to make,and if your friend's account was hacked,password changed,different email,and the character name was changed why do you want to see it? and--lycus is right
