 Hello everyone...!

Seeing as the RolePlaying Board Overhaul was underway and this was the only section we could post in, I decided to make this thread(once again).

So basically, whatever was being discussed in BlackKnight1-7's namesake thread can be continued here.

You can discuss RP Ideas, Concepts, etc. here as the Boards change around you.



Again, if Mods or ArchKnights are seeing this, I've added the Temporary tag seeing as Eukara made it clear in the last thread that in light of the revamp, she would let that thread remain open.

This Thread was a move made because the WIP RP Boards have left us in a state of limbo as long as the work is going on.

I hope I've broken no rules by opening this thread, and if I have, let me bear the consequences.^^

 I think it got lost in the reconstruction.

But yeah, that was a lot of work right there. I really hope Eukky or Jars or Ryu have it saved somewhere...-.-

 I must admit to being concerned about how we've no information. Our RPs have been placed in a section that defines itself as a place for a 'by-gone era', when some of our RPs are still quite alive and kicking. The OOCs seem to have just generally vanished without a word. I'm sure I'm not the only person asking just what is happening here. Not to criticise, but some info would be nice.

Alot of the oocs and some ics seem to have gone missing. Such as Frydae, I still wonder whats going on around here. On a different topic once things do go back to normal any specif kind of rp you people would prefer more? Light harted ? Dark? Slice of Life?

 A Light-Hearted RP would be a good change of pace, Kinz.

I am sure the Mods have everything covered guys, not to worry.
If by any chance they don't, then it's sad.

You're giving the notion that they believe they're dying RPs. The RP AKs should AT LEAST participate in one or two RPs to keep relative behavior and stability in order.

WE're not questioning the mods, but I share Nield's concerns. Have our RPs just been swept under the rug, or will they removed back to an active forum?

 The latter, I believe Rip. In the worst case scenario, it's the former.

It's not in our authority to question the Mods. For all we know, they've safely stored everything.^^

Anyone has any ideas on a Light Hearted RP?

I really am trying to think of a light hearted RP guys. How about something in MQ times about people with no experience, on a cargo ship?

That could be light herated, with enough promise of danger to keep it interesting.

Maybe the life of the students at BattleOn's high school. It could be like a comedy thing. Like BattleOn High. And sometimes they go around the school or town pulling pranks and stuff like that.

 @Dragonman; you do realise that you'll have to cook up a believable plot. Like how did those guys get on the ship. Where is it going?
Other such paraphernalia.

I would suggest going with a very simple and fun plot for your first RP.

Once you get a hang of it, then you can complicate stuff.

 Well that was confusing for a second, but good to see this handy thread is still here, thanks Arthur. Now we patiently wait for our RP's to return from limbo.

To let those know who where interested in the Rp I was talking about. I'm going to go on and start it up as soon as the remodeling is done over there. It will be titled under 'Adventures of Yesterday'. I'll have a more consolidated summary done within a few weeks and hopefully have everything else ready to go once this remodel finishes.

Oh that was.....lovely. Ironically I have about the first half of VA IC posts saved on a laptop somewhere but I never updated it. It was somewhere in the middle of the second RP day.

I actually hosted my first about a year ago, and It died after exactly 6 posts in the IC, because everyone besides me went inactive.

Basing this on the new rules, I'd guess I won't qualify to host an RP, so if someone could take over that Idea (And expand on it and credit me) That'd be great!

As for how they get on the ship, couldn't it be different for different people, A just needed a job, B's parents pressured him. C stowed away and somehow became part of the crew.

And since it's a cargo ship, the destination could be as close as Westion or far, far off.

With regards to activity and inactivity.

We tend to peak in activity roughly around major holiday break periods or the ECs. Then we have major slumps immediately after, when some newcomers or reappearances vanish.
That's generally what happens sometimes.

Eitherway, during this break you guys might as well think of what you guys would want to see in RP form. 6 good ideas.

 @Dai, it's no problem.^^

May I ask what is the plot and genre of your RP?

@Dragonman, atleast you had an IC going. My first one bombed without one. I've come a long way since then, though, all thanks to you guys.

Anyways, we are always here to help any newcomers and returning RPers. So if you need plot inputs, resources or other such stuff, hesitate not. Just holler.

Also, your basic concept strangely reminds me of a "Fates Coincide" stereotypical plot, of which I've seen few. But why a cargo ship when they could just be stranded on an island together or the like?

In any case, it seems a cool idea. Go from there.

@Dragonman and D ran abroad to get away from the coppers! If there is a cargo rp I might actually have a char who does that.

@Dai The title alone perks my interest.

@Link Well we have VA as a school rp, but that did give me a idea. Mabye like a scribe school rp. Think about why rp as swordsmen and spell slingers all the time? You would rp as a Scribe (or something along those lines) undergoing daily lessons, and whatnot.


I also have anther (hats right you`re getting 2 ideas for the price of one! ) a MQ RP bout life in Soulna city. It`d be a nice simple slice of life RP set in MQ using elements the staff have allredy laid down.You could be a student at Gears, or a local cop, or etc. A few more things might need to be added to make it more interesting but, it should be lighthearted enough.

Thanks Arthur, and I guess what I'm thinking is that these people aren't actually stranded on a cargo ship, they just work there, they could potentially leave at a stop and so on, which gives it some more freedom then a deserted island RP

As for the inexperienced part that could be explained by like the last crew all went on strike and got fired, or something. (It's mostly there for humor.)

 Might I point out that the new Rules for these Boards are in place as can be seen from the Q&A Thread up there. According to it, we are allowed to explore other worlds not included in the AE Universe.

What is your take on that?



@Dragonman, fair enough. I'll surely try to like it.


For all patrons of VA, and participants alike, let me tell you that there's a 99% chance that we've lost all our OOC Data essentially reducing us to a NIL as far as Record Keeping is concerned. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, the Gaiden's progress is hampered to some point in the wake of this recent development.

I require your feedback on stuff.

 Thanks Kinz, It's one I really want to host that one, but I'm trying to find out if there are more qualifications needed to host at the moment. I may have to put it on hold for a while but I'll keep working on it.

Okay Adventures of Yesterday is meant to take place in Adventure Quest time line as a light hearted slice of life story.
basic plot summary from the last thread before it disappeared: A story that focuses on a group of young children who one day aspire to become adventures. They form a group together to prepare themselves by going on their own imaginary adventures.

And that's it, it was meant to be rather open ended for my first Rp, nothing to complicated.

What in the name of god just happened?
And out of curiosity, can we resurrect old RP's? loved AG...
And since we can delve away from AE worlds, can we use other game's worlds?
EDIT: Never mind question 1. Figured it out.

For those 6 ideas, I think we need to have as much variety in those 6 as possible. In a very..non specific way, maybe two light toned, two darker ones, one neutral, one out of AE?
