Epic Duel finnally turning around!!

Hey everyone,

Most of you probably dont know me but my characters name is Remorse Less and I am a fairly old player starting in early beta, for quite some time I have become a inactive practically retired player.

This is basically due to the slow and painful destruction road the game was on, in my opinion due to many factors which included:
-Cost appreciation (mainly due to enhancements and fast out dating of gear due to level appreciation)
-NPC abuse
-Balance ( mainly due to enhancements IMO)
-Varium/Non varium Gap

BUT!

I have recently read the upcoming changes for the omega phase and I am greatly pleased as they are seeming to address almost all issues and possibly listening to the larger of the player community requests at least since when I was a frequent forum user.


Rather then this thread be a discussion of the omega changes etc. I was hoping this thread could be a discussion on if you think that epic duel is finally starting to turn around if you had or have a negative view of the games progress so far. (Keep negative comments constructive)


For this reason I would like to thank the devs for finally potentially fixing the game I used to greatly enjoy but heartbroken to see it continuously get worse and worse (My opinion)

What do you older players think? and what is the opinion form the newer players? I would love to know and share the appreciation to the devs.

well i think all the changes are great IMO exept for ONE:

-Making ED a dress up game -.- coze every item will be the same exept for looks

^ I agree with that also,

But they did mention that they arnt making weapon 100% customizable therefore Im guessing the original stats still count for something.


PLUS

Its only dress up if your willing to empty your pockets.

Im assuming most players would continue to get wepons for there original stats as to avoid the probable major costs of adjusting them.


So if those richy players wont to spend spend spend to simply get the wepons they like the look of to be battle worthy, who are we to deny them xD

I think the game will only turn better. PVP balance, no NPC abuse( well now you will only able to farm credits from them, and that is not a bad thing), lvl up every weapon in-game. Maybe old players will return, new players will join and the game will grow.

^ I for one am an old player returning if the changes live up to expectation.

And I am excited if it brings back many of the older players :)

all looks good to me they should still help the players leveling up though
example all players at lower level start first and same level random start

 Yes, It's starting to get better because Finally they are going to remove the Npcs from the battle record and closed the gap by alot.
And about fighting npcs unlimited of times for creds is really good for lower lvls becayse they will be able to farm alot of credits and be able to have good weapons on the higger lvls.

Everything is turning very good but I still want to see how balance turns out :3

Sure. Because it makes a lot of sense to upgrade Lvl 5 item to Lvl 35 for the looks whilst you can get Lvl 30 item and upgrade it to Lvl 35 for much lower Credit/Variun price. You missed out new abilities coming to items that can be applied as well as certain restrictions to prevent abuse so perhaps you may not be able to customize it 100%. And you missed out damage and stat leans on weapons. No. It will not be dress up game. You've missed out few big points which are crucial. >_>

Also I'm sure you'd rather spend Varium every time new weapon comes out because it beats your current one? First people moan how bad it is that each update makes their weapon outdated too fast, and now that it'll be gone, it's also an issue. <_<

@ rayman Yeh me too,


Balance IMO hasnt been good ever since then made enhancments on guns and auxs. Then worse when they added bots that helped effortless spammers defeat startegy.

@Comical

I like that idea but it could effect balance negatively at higher levels eg. a lvl 34 varium STR build that ALWAYS starts against the 35 opponent....

Lets not go too far off track guys :P

Heeey Remorse! Welcome again, and glad that you favour what will be happening! I think that it was a great decision on Titan's part myself to address cost and player balance. Epic.

One thing guys, not sure how strict the forum mods are these days but lets try to keep it more on the topic of if ED has reached a turning point and less opinions on the omega changes.

I also left ED b4 coz of balance and enhancement issues ...
but after seeing the omega update .. I have returned :)

Hope everything goes well and wish that the old players also return to duel

I don't like making stew while the rabbit is still in the woods.
Many promises and announcements are/were made; I'll wait to try them out before I make my personal conclusion.

Plus you make a very good point.

I remember being super excited about the delta phase being about to be released only to find a balance disaster with classes such as the TLM back then...

I mean COME ON hybrid , reroute, technician and smoke what did they think would happen....

It's not really a dress up game though the point of the system is to be able to customize any weapond to your level, and make it good for your build, the fact we can change the stats and fix it is awesome it's like were desgning the weapond, expect for the art.

Hey Remorse.

Yeah, Omega seems to be a step for a better game. I doubt too many people will rage about the delay.

Guess we have to wait and see though.

Its interesting to see how alot of other old players are returning for similar reasons to me.


Which just goes to show that the constent requests for these sorts of things in the forums perhaps should of been listened to earlier.....
But hey at least the message finally sank through.


I'm just glad that maybe my constant complaints for a change to enhancement when I was a frequent forum user made a difference.


From the look of it so far the enhancement changes seem to be a lot like what I sugested way back.... But Im not certain yet.
