Do you think that if the mods were to remove NPC battles from your PvP record you would still have a lot of wins?

I don't think they wouldn't ever do that, I don't know much about editing codes and stuffs, but that stuff is pretty hard to do...

Im not really talking about whether they should/would actually do it. Im saying would your wins be like cut in half?

so im basically asking how much of your wins comes from NPC's??

Then NPC losses should be removed too . It's kinda unfair for those who became "punching bags" by Varium players .

But anyway , i think my 1v1 wins would go like 4K+ or something .

Hi, im playng this game since 3-4 years now, i have 2 non-varium accounts and i farmed a total of 80k winz between, but i think this game is fun only in pvp (even if is full of nubs, like 90%) so i never npced.

If you took away all my NPC wins, I would have 5 whole wins to call my own. Yes, you read that correctly, 5 whole wins.

^ So you also are one of the players who dont play this game as they should?
It is a PvP based game as i remember.

And i think the All-time 1vs1 will be alot different then it is now since that is only NPC grinding...
mine would only lose like 500 wins because of the Ebilcorp war, but the rest will all be the same.
And alot of other players like 'matt 1000' 'Apology' 'I.quit' 'plisk' will look like noobs with only 1000 wins haha

I don't see how Nexus isn't playing the game "as he should." NPCs can be fought, and its not cheating if we fight them. The only time someone is not playing the game the way he should is if he uses an automated script (i.e. bot) to play the game.

There isn't a rule that explicitly states that we are only allowed to fight public battles.

It's a PvP based game with an option to challenge NPCs.

Every win in this game to this point is as fair as any other win. They are all equal, no matter if NPC win or PvP win, because the developers gave us the chance to do both.

I find it funny when some people justify their bad ratios by saying they fight no NPCs, and only do "real battles". And at the same time mock other players for having great ratios, accusing them of abusing the system by fighting NPCs.
If you have bad ratios, whether you challenge NPCs or not, it's nothing but your very own fault.

To stay on topic, I would have waaaay less wins if NPC wins were removed. Not sure how many, but probably around 15k-25k less.

Since this is a PvP based game you should not do PvE to only get a good record.
It does is a option, but im glad they are taking it away, if you only want to fight robots, go play another game like AQW.

So no, i dont say there is a rule for this, but it isnt really playing this game as you are supposed to do.

Once again, no one is playing the game by your standards. Are your 'real' 5,000 1v1 wins worth more than 5,000 of my NPC wins? Certainly not; I have invested as much, or even more time, than you in getting every one of my wins. Just because some of them are gained form fighting NPCs doesn't make me any worse of a player than you are. In fact, I dare to say I have had great fun fighting NPCs, and I will continue to fight them until they are removed from the game.

They wont do that, but IF they did it I wouldnt be worried at all. I would maybe get 700-isch lesser wins, I never found it funny to battle NPCs, therefor I've never really done it except for missions and in wars.

@ Jekyll

I have already said, i have participated in the Ebilcorp war and that gave me around 500 wins so yeah the 4500 are real victories.
And yes they are worth more then yours since NPC is a basic 'free' win and i will explain you why:
- No rage
- No aux
- Sometimes no gun
- Stats visible before even challenging him
- Always the same moves, always

And to support this answer these 2 questions and i have already confirmed that NPCs are a free win:
When was the last time you actually lost from a NPC other then Ally required NPC and the Cheevo giving NPCs? (probably not even a month ago, maybe not even a halfyear)
When was the last time you actually lost in a 'real' 1vs1 game? (probably yesterday if you even go 1vs1ing)

So, yes my wins are worth way more then yours.

First off, your wins are not worth more than mine, neither are mine worth more than yours. Out of my 21,000 wins, at least 6,000 are from NPCs. Does that mean I'm no good at 1v1? No! When I go 1v1-ing during Power Hour, I can boast a record of 18-2, which is good enough for me, considering I don't abuse OPed builds (Strength BH, BM).

A win is a win, and is counted as a win, regardless of who you fight against. As such, my wins are not worth less than yours, and my record speaks for itself.

You might think that you are honourable because you don't fight NPCs. Let me tell you, there is no such thing as honour in an online game. People are free to do what they deem fit, and it is your choice if you don't wish to fight NPCs. You may still have the idea that your wins are worth more, but honestly, few others share the same mentality.

A fitting example would be that I have 21,000+ 1v1 wins.

I am willing to reveal that 6,000 of them are from NPCs. But if I told you only 500 were, from the EbilCorp and Infernal wars, you would believe me too. That is the beauty of this game; the devs do not see NPC wins as anything less than normal 1v1 wins, and that's the reason why they are not separated under your battle statistics.

I have not said it makes you not good in 1vs1.
maybe you are a king in 1vs1, but when you NPC, i gotta say it pretty much ruins your record.
Even if it makes the ratio better, i find it just bad and i then dont really see you as a good player.

If you have a +80% in 2vs2, then i can say youre a good player.
If you have a +95% in juggernaut , i can say youre a good player.
But if you have a +95% in 1vs1, i can only say youre a NPC farmer and i cant call you a good player.

And i have never said that i am 'honourable'.

Yes, they are the same.... in terms of numbers. But fighting easy npcs, which represent no challenge, is not so gratifying. If a battle represents no challenge, you get no sense of acomplishment.

Pvp battles are more fun, for me atleast. You have to use your head, and it's different every time. :)
But when I fight a player 5 levels below me, that's just as gratifying as when fighting an NPC... =/

I always prefer to farm players if I need the credits. It's less tedious over the time. Except for wars, events, drops, missions, achievements, I barely fight Npcs. I would not lose many wins if they were removed.

In the end, PvP battles can give you more of what you expect to find in a game. PvE battles in epicduel are a bit dull.
Also, you learn more from fighting players.

I would say that PvE battles are worth less than PvP battles. PvE battles take less time, require less skill, you dont need to pay much attention to the battle, and overall, are less fun.

____

I would like to get rid of my npc wins/losses. I don't like them obscuring my real rating. I would like to know how well I'm doing in pvp, without it being tainted and altered by other factors.

Vypie, I really like your argument and I think that it is reasonable that you should believe it to be so. However, I just have to add that 'fun' and 'fulfilling' are subjective terms - we all have different views of what constitutes 'fun'. Having said that, I respect your decision to farm players over NPCs, and with the way you put across your point (in a respectful manner), I must say that you deserve your wins.

I would lose like 200 wins but on the other hand I would also lose like 100 losses because the NPC bosses swamped me when they first game out

I don't really mind, most of the NPCs I fight are for quests and stuff anyways because it's too boring to just farm them every hour. If NPC wins were removed, I'd probably only lose 100 1v1s at max (unless you include mechachillids in infernal war, because those were unavoidable if you wanted to participate actively in the war).

I would say I would lose a couple hundred wins in total. Less than 1 hundred losses. Proportional to my total scores, would be less than 5% of everything. That is INCLUDING missions and events (like the Frysteland and Infernal wars).

I would probably lose about 150-200 wins.
