Background: Victor Stein was a human being, fascinated with electricity from an early-on age. He would experiment with lightning rods he would create from foil and other conductive materials. He became a scientist, sharing his ideals with the world. However, since magic was very abundant, no one really bothered to listen to him. Except for one woman. Emilia Ulrich believed in Victor's radical ideas, almost to a cult-like following. They soon fell in love and wed not to long after. One fateful evening, Victor was attacked by a group of mages that were against his ideas. He staggered into his laboratory bloody and near death. His wife knew the only thing that could save him was to let him die and reanimate him using pure energy. It sounded ludicrous, but Victor knew it would work. She dragged her dying husband onto the wooden board and pinned him down with metal links and chains. As he was lifted into the sky he told his wife that no matter what, he would still love her, and always would. As he laid outside during the storm the group of mages came in and attacked his wife. Victor tried to wrestle himself free but an abnormally large lightning bolt struck him, killing him and reviving him simultaneously. He grew to the massive size he has now, and his hair was turned from black to silver. He broke free from the chains and landed in the laboratory. He cried out as he witnessed his wife being drowned alive in a water prison spell. The mages turned their attention to Victor and engaged them in combat. It took him only a few minutes to kill the mages, but his wife was doomed. He cradled her body in his arms as he cried out into the night sky. Since this Victor has become mad mentally, and more powerful than he could imagine. He constantly experiments on lone mages who he captures. Not a single person has lived through his experiments. He has since made enemies with the Magical Council and the Paladin Order. He wanders alone, and at times creates disciples in order to help his experiments succeed. These disciples are created from the corpses of mages he kills during his experiments. They have lost all their magical abilities and are mindless slaves he reanimates with lightning. His goal is to destroy the Magical Council and the Paladin Order and erect a new order under his command. Image/Appearance: Victor Stein Abilities/Skills: Static Synergy - Victor cannot easily be cut up into pieces. Since the majority of his blood is replaced with pure lightning and energy, he can re-attach any lost organs and body parts. Shock Menace - Victor's physical strength, speed and durability is placed at extreme levels due to the electricity in his body bolstering his abilities. Pulse Combat - Victor is a master at unarmed hand-to-hand combat, bolstered by Shock Menace. Voltaic Immunity - No amount of energy can harm Victor physically, save for the Elemental Realm of Energy. Volatile Bellow - Victor can breathe a large beam of pure energy, which can decimate multiple enemies at a time. Lightning Siphon - Due to his height, Victor can easily intake lightning strikes from storms without being harmed. He uses this to charge himself. He can also take electricity away from other electrical devices to charge himself. Nervous Discharge - Victor can either siphon or accelerate the electricity of a human being in which he has control over. Arc Storm - Victor's body half-way becomes pure lightning, bolstering all his abilities significantly. This can only be achieved during a storm of massive proportions. Quote: "Why?!" ---------------------------------------------- lordkaho Name: Alice Carroll Age: Biologically 10 years old, Actual age unknown Race: Human (?) Height: 4'8" Weight: 97 lbs Affiliation: None Likes: Sweets, her dolls, new friends Dislikes: Being locked up in the mansion, 'scary' people Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Personality: Being a child, Alice is utterly unpredictable. One might find her hopelessly insane, but Alice is in fact capable of deep thought and rational thinking. It's just that her great curiosity of things that garner her interest usually precedes over her ability to discern between a human being and a plaything. Being a girl who spent centuries inside the haunted Carroll Mansion, she is frequently in search of new friends and yearns to leave the mansion, if not for the curse bestowed upon her. Background: Alice Carroll was the youngest daughter of Eiberhart Carroll, a long family lineage that has existed in Waalz dating back to 12th Century. The year 1518 marked the Svarog invasion of Waalz, and its precious nobles were the prime targets of the Svarogi Tsardom; the Carrols were not safe. Alice, together with her family, lived a life of constant turmoil as they were always on the run from the invaders from the North. But after 4 years of enduring days and days of peril and hardship, the newly formed Britannian Empire finally stepped in and drove back the Svarogi forces and freed Waalz. Eiberhart was already an old man, and the rest of his three daughters went on to marry princes and famous aristocrats from all throughout the Kingdom and lived secure lives. But what he feared most was his youngest, Alice, who had no one to take care of her and age was finally tearing down his worn body. He feared that he might not live further to see Alice live a life without the dark past of the war haunting her. Alice had always been a cheerful child, but the old noble knew that this was nothing but a facade his daughter put up to suppress her true feelings. In a bitter reality ruled by politics and war, Eiberhart swore to it that his child shall live in a place, a wonder land, that she may never see the cruel face of the world. And thus, he built Carroll Mansion atop the innocently named Little Parasol Hill, just outside the vicinity of the town of Dunkelt. Dunkelt was a rural area that never suffered much from the Svarogi invasion, and thus much of the landscape was lush with greenery and tranquility. As if it wasn't coincident enough, Alice's 11th birthday was only 8 months away. Pouring out what remained of his vast fortune, he hired an army of laborers, carpenters, and engineers, the finest in the nation, to build the architectural masterpiece in only 7 and a half months; starting from March to October. Just days away from Alice's designated birthday. However, something completely unexpected happened. It was April when a vicious disease swept through the mainland, devastating whole villages one at a time and left the local apothecaries dumb struck. The plague, called the Red Death, from the red splotches found on the skin of its victims, eventually reached Dunkelt as the autumn winds blew, where the Carrols were living in the mean time, getting ready to introduce Alice to her new home up in Little Parasol Hill. It was high noon, when Alice was playing in the fields with her guardian, Walter, and she inexplicably fainted after feeling 'tired' and 'sleepy'. Alice would never wake up again. The devastated Eiberhart Carroll, too, would waste away from the plague and, grief, three days later. Nothing was known of what ever happened to Alice, but rumors have spread that little Alice Carrol still haunts the mansion up the hill...Searching for a new playmate. Image/Appearance: Alice Abilities/Skills: Alice has a grand collection of dolls, taken from all over the world. Some of it is said to possess some sort of sentience and magical powers. The marionette master Alice, uses them to do her bidding, though most of them are capable of independent action. Walter- Alice's butler. It is not known if this automaton is related to her guardian, Walter Lanceworth, but this rabbit headed doll has the ability to tear open and close holes. Quote: "Laughing, scarlet smile...Won't you dance with me?" ---------------------------------------------- Mortarion Name: Lord Sarpedon, know as Krenko by the gangs Age: 270 Race: Human/Undead (with steam powered limbs along with surgical implants from other races) Height: 9'7" Weight: 140 kg Affiliation: Various gangs around the planet (current), The Cult (former) Likes: Destruction, nature, strength Dislikes: Order, weakness, pollution Alignment: Chaotic Evil Personality: Quiet, destructive, prone to fits of cruel laughter, this are traits that describe Sarpedon, but over this facade of cruelty and brutality, lies a cultured man, well versed into matters such as technology and magic, exemplified by his mechanical components and his state as an undead, along with this, he is a master strategist, and a believer of the philosophy that through natural selection, an utopia will emerge, this stems from his childhood in "The Cult" Background: Sarpedon was raised by "The Cult", a sect of people believing that, through selected assassination of key individuals they could force society to evolve into a new level, from this days, was that the future anarchist would take most of his future life philosophy, the main change came when he realized that "The Cult" itself had become stagnant, during one night, he murdered them all, except nine members who shared his same views, in the conflict, Sarpedon's lungs were damaged, along with a few limbs, the only way to save him was to raise him as a living dead, which allowed the several damages done to his body to be repaired through experimental steam powered technology stolen from another group of people called the Spiraling Dawn, after years, Sarpedon and his nine followers spread through the planet, forming cults interconnected to bring the birth o father new society that their former order prophesied, the main difference however, is that they plan to do this through destabilization of society. They kept contact by carrying special keys with them. Image/Appearance: Lord Sarpedon Abilities/Skills: He fights wielding a pair of hook swords, along with this, he carries several small automatons, bombs and a pair of guns Dance of Keys: Using one of his keys as a source of mana, he is able to control several of them as ants that can attack and spy his enemies. Dance of the Hookswords: Using his pair of hookswords, Sarpedon begins making a dance in which he cuts his enemies with graceful steps Dance of Entropy: Drawing from techniques from The Cult, Sarpedon focus his mana in n entropic dance, ten longer it's performed, the more chaotic the surrounding area becomes,a s the mana, and on consequence nature itself, is twisted. Dance of Explosions: Using small bombs, Sarpedon forces his opponent into a defensive stance, along with burning them. Dance of Gunpowder: Using chaotic movements that destabilize his opponent, Sarpedon is able to shoot to its joints and weak points Quote: "The Cult betrayed its own ideals, but they were right, the ten of us will create the blessed state of Utopia through chaos" ---------------------------------------------- glaisaurus_x Name: Verge Freeman Age: 18 Race: Human Height: 6'4" Weight: 180 lbs Affiliation: Formerly the "Rainy Days" Corporation, currently none Likes: Life in general, Mechanics, Inventing things, Sweet Foods Dislikes: Overly negative people Alignment: Neutral Good Personality: Generally an incredibly happy guy. Is not incredibly talkative although if the topic involves machinery this quickly changes. Background: Verge was born in an incredibly advanced city compared to the rest of the world. This was largely due to the "Rainy Days" Corporation being centered there. His parents and older brother both went on to hold important positions in various aspects of the Corporation, which focused largely on machines and their uses in daily life. It seemed only natural Verge would follow suit and work for the company. He had shown initial promise in the area of engineering but he'd confessed to his parents he wished to pursue a career in art. And around here is when his life changed drastically. There was some disaster, a fire or otherwise, that resulted in the death of the rest of his family. Verge feel into a depressive slump and decided to take up a job at a Rainy Days Factory to earn enough money to leave the city, hoping he could forget about the events and move onto a new life somewhere else. It was here that he rediscovered his engineering ability, as he'd use what free time he had to mess around with spare parts to pass the time. Gradually, this grew from a simple pass-time into in-depth research. He'd managed to invent various bits of technology such as weapons and other more normal appliances. His superiors took note of this and shifted him into Robot Productions. They assumed his curious nature would yield more efficient and advanced machines than before. They got more than they could have ever asked for. This turned out to be the start of what made Verge into what he is now. While tinkering with the robots, his research had become so complex and advanced that it is said he discovered the secret to Life. As a scientist, this left but one option: to test it. And so he did, fashioning a small Robotic (hopefully) organism. His research proved true and he had indeed created life. Only then did he realize how important this was, and how important life in general was. Surprisingly, he deemed this secret too dangerous. It could be weaponized for example, creating an army of self-aware, hyper-intelligent War Machines. This would also cause a blatant disregard for life. No, he needed to keep this secret. Only those truly worthy deserved something like this. And then...he vanished. Rainy Days had never gotten the information they sought after, and have hunted him down ever since. Image/Appearance: Verge Abilities/Skills: The Living Machine: His figurative Son that he created has since been upgraded so as to be able to protect itself and Verge. Although the majority of the time it is able to compact these into its smaller form. Ripple Gauntlet: During his time inventing, Verge created a gauntlet that allows him to create Ripples in surfaces such as Air or Water (it works on Solids, though the effect is incredibly delayed and thus not practical). This works as an incredible defense and offense as bullets are stopped midair, and threatening objects can simply be repelled away. Bonus: The Living Machine The Living Machine considers Verge as its father, although Verge has noted many times it is actually more intelligent than he is. Though its mind is advanced vastly beyond its years, it has shown a naivety towards human culture and wishes to understand them more. It can take a variety of forms due to compression technology allowing it to conceal many parts of it. For traveling convenience it assumes a small Dislike shape which several legs dangle from. It has been noted to take a form much larger when in battle. TLM has also been shown to adapt quickly, making RD members unable to employ similar techniques multiple times. This is because it is alive, and thus can learn as any other human does. Its personality has been noted akin to that of a man with amnesia. It understands the technical aspects of things, but is simply like a child towards things like History. It shares its "father's" same zeal towards life, if not more so due to it desiring to learn all there is about it.
