I've seen this happen pretty often, this is more of a "confession" thread. I don't exactly know why I made this, but I feel that it's related to dignity, like in this thread.

 Not particularly, I've gotten a small amount of my builds copied by other people, but they respectfully asked before doing so, and thus I didn't mind at all. I wouldn't count making a focus build "copying," because the option of focus is plainly stated and given to all players as an obvious build option. I have copied a few builds in the 2-3 years I've played ED, but otherwise I typically stick to making my own builds.

I dont think I have directly copied a build, but I sure have got ideas by looking at other builds. But I evolve them in a way that fits me, I think is better and that I prefer.

Not technically.

As soon as the update was made, I came out with the high level massacre / Support Cyber Hunter build.

It's similar to a STR build, but 7 or 8 massacre instead of 5, and high support. The Support helps with first-strike and can do good damage with an E aux; it also increases malf.

 @King Helios: That build was actually existent in mid-late delta, so it's not exactly a new idea. I came up with a level 9 massacre 7 emp one, Gassia came up with another similar one as well.

I've seen that build during late Delta, but not often. So I guess it wouldn't really be copying imo

On-Topic: I haven't seen a single person with a build like mine. I'm a caster tech mage with a huge amount of strength, with a large amount of health (142)

@Helios I used that build as well before omega nothing new about it :P

and as for build copying sure you could look at mine and think that but i do not build copy any build I use I sat there and fiddled with the stats/ skills
until I was satisfied, so I guess similar builds yes copying builds negative

I'm a heal looping 144 hp support mage

It's very rare that someone copies a build exactly, but they may use it as a base and modify it

It's all cool when I face people who have similar build to mine because usually they are heavily outplayed. 8)

No I haven't copied anyone build not directly from the person anyways. Though later on I do see players use some of the builds I made in the past as well.

No one has a *original build* in my opinion today because every build for each class has been tried atleast once since 2009.

Nope never have and never will, I'd rather lose using my own build that people recognize me for than jump on the bandwagon. My build is and always will be centered around as much health I can get and if there comes a time where an OP'd build has something to do with very high hp then I'm sorry I won't change.

If it gets me easier wins, and improves my win/lose ratio, then yes. I do whatever it takes to win, except ya know cheating or trying to trick someone into pressing F5. Those are cowardly tactics.

Then what fun do you get out of playing the game if you'll just use the strongest build, then when another surfaces, you change to that build and then do that for 2000 battles til the next build. Also, only using the strongest builds is just as cowardly as trying to trick someone to exit the game because you're so afraid of losing you won't even attempt to play using a uncertain build.

Well, I only use my (apparently not as original as I though) Support CH Mass 1v1 build for those x amount of PVP missions; I like to play 2v2 and have a different build for that.

I will admit however that I saw a BH using a different version of the build first, with a lvl 6 massacre and no energy for healing.

Anyway, I never copy builds, in the sense that I screenshot someones build and try to get mine as close to it as possible. I just get basic ideas from other builds sometimes, like the idea of a support build with massacre.

 Im 5 focus CH with P-E-E-E, bet you dont see that much!

A friend of mine had a similar one, i polished it and toke the bad things out.
Since then i won more then 80% in over 50 battles.
Not bad for a none-spammer.

 I use to play all build from my friend "1st ranked 1vs1 leaderboard" last few day "founderVN". He calculated all the damage, statistic % errors chance to block/deflect or crit for me, since that time my PVP 1vs1 improved.
My CH : I use Strength/Dex build.
TLM : Super tanky
BH : Strength/Dex

I'm 100% original, the majority of my losses are from testing rather absurd builds and for that I am proud. A commander with 5k losses and I have no regrets.

In the beginning, I had my own, rather silly build~ http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/x443/DTisEmO/build-1.jpg

This eventually reached 95hp and about 16-20base damage, as I gradually approached level 34.

I then reached the cap (at the time,) purchased Delta armor, and proceeded to hack and slash my way through 1v1.
Finally I had enough of the repetition, I decided that it was time I made my own build.
I bought an energy rapier, made a high tech, 4focus build, centered around a level 8 heal, and a maxed emp.
It brought little success, then I tweaked it into a five focus, with a level 4 smoke added in case I could do without healing, and I found my happy place

hmmmmmm, all these similar builds, and yet no one on the forums says he copied a build????????????

why not close the battle strategy thread then.

oh and i wont lie, i did try to copy xendran's heal loop build when i was a lvl26 non var merc in beta (oh and i failed)
+ i did copy caster build from some1 (idk) it was really good, but ends up real boring(very repetitive) so I changed back to 4 focus dex.
