Title says it all, are you tired of losing battles you should have won because of luck, does luck screw you over more than it bennefits you, is this game a lottery more than a stragegic game?

blocks, deflects and crits, absolutely crazy as the change the tide of battle way too much. especially at lower levels, they will change the battle a lot

Where is the skill in using an STR only focused build? And it doesn't require luck, actuality in these cases luck rather balances.

This post will be different. I'll tell you how lucky I got. In 1 match, I stunned my opponent TWICE. Not by using Stun Grenade, but by using my aux, with a 3% chance of stunning each time.

Probability? 3% of 3%. Probably won't get it ever again.

@above
I had this happen twice in Juggernaut, on the same day!

Luck is rarely on my side. It hates me, it's obvious.

I tried Juggernaut last night, got stunned on the second turn, and then opponents did crits with their Artillery Strike.
If I get lucky, its a miracle!

I was using my BH alt, I had 55-65 dex and my opponent had 0 since I smoked him, he blocked....... TWICE. I think the luck is a bit OP

@Jekyll,

.09%. That is 9 times out of 10,000, or 1 out of about 1,111.

Someone I was fighting today said that ED wasn't a strategy game and that it was a statistics game. Put more specifically, he said shadow arts was absolutely reasonable, as well as the block/deflect and crit cores. This person was also only a delta player, so I'm supposing he never saw how beautiful ED was before the evil menace of shadow arts came...

Before Omega I had around a 75% cumulative win rate, and that was when I rarely used boosters (1/700-800 fights I used them). Considering boosters were removed so I'm no longer at a disadvantage from that, my win rate should have gone up. Sadly enough, it's pretty much stayed the same because lower levels are killing me with shadow arts, block/deflect cores, and crit cores. While a lucky crit/block which makes a fight have an unexpected winner will obviously occur sometimes (maybe like 1/(100-200) or something, if not less often), the amount of times that this is happening now is just crazy. It's more like every 20 fights or so I'm losing to someone far less skilled or lower level than me (I can tell because their record has more losses than wins) just because the cores crit me at the last moment and I lose.

EP: Doesn't it more imply that you haven't adapted to the changes in the game?

If one has an issue with luck, they ought to make their builds in a way luck doesn't screw you over as easily. My SC build I'll be going back to shortly actually does that well. It has certain builds it really can't handle, but it takes really, REALLY extraordinary luck to bring it down from a situation it should be able to win.

Stat abuse builds that really lack in support, tech, or dex aren't the builds I'm talking about. I'm talking about how I often get crit/blocked/deflected by opponents with the minimal chances for each, just because the core can easily quintuple their chances of doing so. You mentioned something about extraordinary luck to help opponents win, and this is what I'm talking about:

If the opponent has minimal deflection chances, the deflect core will boost it by 150%. If they have minimal block chance, their chances of blocking are tripled by the block core. If they have the crit core, their crit chances are QUINTUPLED when they have the minimal crit chance. I am honestly killed WAY too easily by the crit core in particular because it can be applied not only on the primary, but on the gun and aux as well. While normal strikes may not be used often, guns with deadly aim and auxes will always be used, and it's pretty much unavoidable not to be crit once every 2 fights by some 20 support build when I'm using a 50-60 support focus build. That is what I declare extraordinary luck. When you say builds that don't get screwed by luck as easily, I'm supposing you mean max zerker builds or similar builds that depend on one easily stoppable move. While I use the cores as well, those no-support or no-dex builds really gain more benefit are their chances are multiplied by large factors, while mine aren't. Nanosteel armor is also near useless as it only blocks out around 3 damage every time the opponent crits me.

Without luck this game would be boring; strength builds all day long.
It's either this or imbalance. The way I see it, this is better.

@Jekyll
I don't want to make you feel sad but you did not use your auxiliary twice in two turns. Each event (the stun) is separate of one another, so 3% of 3% only applies when you stun twice in a row. Technically, what happened to you was a 3%, and then another 3%. If you stunned with your aux and then stunned the next turn through another skill, then I would be amazed (even though other stun skill chances are considerably higher than 3%). The percentage chances of stunning twice in two turns and the chance to stun twice at any time during battle are different. I am still surprised at what happened to you, though.

But after your first aux stun, did you stun again with your aux after it cooled down?

Well, I'm talking about two consecutive stuns with an aux. As you said, my aux stunned twice in two uses. That, I believe, is 0.09% since the event is "stun using aux".

7% may SEEM nice, but remember that you can be easily smoked, or an opponent simply has more dex than you.

EP: again, you KNOW these strategies exist. Instead of making a point on how big of an impact they make, you ought to make an effort to CHANGE something to allow better combating them. And see, just because a core may be more useful to another build doesn't ultimately mean much. Especially after we go through some extra cores hopefully coming up soon, it will balance tremendously.

And no, I wasn't talking about any particular build. I was talking about luck. that is, Crits, Defl, Blocks... instead of saying they have too big of an impact, I've simply minimized the damage bad luck will bring me. this is where most people go wrong tbh. They believe luck is something you can't affect and entirely ignore it. No. Luck is a skill. True, you can't directly affect luck itself, but what luck does, you can.
