Switch Faction Alignments?

what do you guys think about being able to switch a faction's alignment? (by the faction leader)
Exile or Legion.

before anyone answers, i would like to point out that back in beta, the storylines were meaningless as they had not really expanded on it as much as they have now in terms of missions, events, and wars.

so anyone who made a faction back in those days, is stuck with it now even if its an alignment they dont like.
and i personally dont like when an event promotes faction disbanding (i.e a player disbanding because he wants to be legion/exile)

Real people and real countries defect. Factions should be able to as well.

i did suggest this a while ago. I support and maybe it could be varium perk by costing varium to change alignment?

Alright, what it is similar to class change system? You could change alignment for varium or credit?

It would not work for alignment-based wars like the one coming this summer (announced in DNs). And alignment loyal members may leave. So, not supported.

I'm tired of people pointing things out like that. Where the hell did goldslayer1 ever say that in his post? Besides, I am also sick of features giving founders so much power. If you want to change alignments, everyone in the faction has to agree. Its just unethical. If my faction founder just suddenly decided to change to Legion when I, being a long-time officer and loyal Exile, would probably leave.

Since the Devs would prefer ideas that "make sense" , this is one idea that i would love to see because if you hate your current alignment , like for an example , you're Exile and you want to be Legion ( i bet it's because of Oz ) , then a Faction alignment switch can be a must .

You should be given the option to defect your faction to the other side once as a part of a mission.

PART of a mission, not the reward. Sometime down the line you could meet somebody, lets say oz, who will give you the option (can only pick one)


Remain loyal and battle Oz
Defect to Exile

Suggested Improvements:

-Make it a 70% vote for all faction members.
-Faction button will display a yes/no option rather than their ranks to save space.
-Voting period is 1 week, if no vote is given, the default vote is "Yes".
-After voting, their ranks will be displayed normally.

70% because some people may leave and hurt their faction by getting their influence down.

i dont think limiting the switch to 1 is good IMO.
what if the faction wants to be that guy thats always in between?

i do like the voting idea though.

 What's the point of supporting if they don't even make it?
Likely they will make this in 6 years time ^^.
By that time the game will be broken.

Slow pace game but however I support

There will be more high tech PVP MMORPG games in 6 years time anyway which will be better then ED ofc.

Off-Topic:

I can see plenty of "High-tech" MMORPGs...

So "High-tech" that guns haven't completely replaced swords (or other melee weapons, except knives and bayonets)

Guns in any "High-Tech" MMORPG relies not on its manufacturer, caliber or accuracy, but how much cash you feed it or by how much the gun is worth either in cash or rarity

Allow for an "Independant" option that allows them to have a faction without being related to either side.

There are already. PSO2 is coming out this year as well.
