Since I am unable to create a thread related to the status of ED thanks to my previous threads getting shot down...

I decided to make another fancy thread, this time, rather than making awkward stories, I decided to state things that are awkward. Yes, the fact alone is awkwardly awkward indeed.

This thread shall be a compilation of the explanation of awkward things in ED. Don't include the game system, just the appearances of items/locations/NPCs themselves.

quote:

Myth: You can pull out a "Bunker Buster Type-11" rocket launcher from out of nowhere.
Fact: It is simply folded and strapped to the side of your abdomen. If you are facing east, it's simply a trend to hold it on your left thigh and vice-versa if you're facing west.

Myth: Lasers cannot be deflected.
Fact: Delta V is a technologically advanced world. All of its citizens are given "Battle Finders" that allow one to meet a possible acquaintance easily. Truth is, they also have a deflector shield that automatically works at certain times. These can be improved by increasing your knowledge on technology and applying what you've learned to improve it.

Myth: Baelius is a tyrant.
Fact: All of the men under his command all willingly follow him, however, they share different opinions of how order should be implemented. Regardless of how forceful their methods are, they still use stun grenades rather than real grenades to incapacitate an unruly citizen. You may look for any guard, but they will -not- use explosive grenades on citizens.

Myth: The Legion and Exile soldiers hate one another.
Fact: During all of these wars, never will you see a Legionnaire fight an Exile directly. During all your encounters with them, they are usually together, around ten meters apart. Rather than shoot each other with the guns they have, they simply stand and wait for their members to arrive so that they may give orders. However, none of those orders explicitly state the death of an opposing faction soldier. Any orders to kill their opposing subordinates simply mean "Incapacitate" because regardless of how many times you've defeated someone, it is unlawful to kill another.

Myth: Rage can cause you to glow red.
Fact: When enraged your circulation improves while you blush easier, causing your blood to "flush" outwardly to your skin making you appear red. If you see auras of red air, it is simply from moving so quickly that the redness blurs the vision.

Myth: Mercenaries are reliant on outside help.
Fact: It's a speculation that mercenaries rely on outside help to use precision orbital strikes and condensed artillery barrages. However, in reality, the "Radio" is actually a remote control for activating their remote-controlled personal kill-sats (Courtesy of Lord Baelius) and their personal drone artillery units.

Myth: People "Color" their personal armor.
Fact: If spray-painting was a solution for fashion designers, it would have been used long ago. You see, to paint an armor, you'd only unnecessarily insulate yourself, making wearing the armor uncomfortable to wear. Law dictates that spray-painters such as the Steve robot series be put to justice, however the pensions they provide help fuel the war effort, balancing their unlawful actions for a just cause. As for legit recoloring, our army of slaves hard workers mine the adequate metals and sew the fabrics that match the color of your preference without compromising the protection it provides.

Myth: Stun grenades incapacitate foes through a combination of disorienting light and a loud noise.
Fact: Stun grenades... Don't really stun in their own right. You see, the reason why the use of "STN grenade model 21" is tiring is due to the amount of strength needed to throw it at speeds which will instantly cause blunt trauma upon contact to the belly. That is, after the explosion occurs. However, chances are, you need to learn about the physiology of your opponents through a combat course called "Battlefield Support 101", miss a sensitive point, and the offender will continue fighting.

Myth: Duelists live by a code of etiquette that states that they must return to their original position after administering their attack.
Fact: Lord Baelius believes in equality and fairness. He made a law that states that everyone take turns. To ensure compliance, he had his tech mages build a powerful force system to manipulate basic movement to ensure that duelists fight fairly and equality until the end.

Myth: You change professions instantly, just like magic- Provided you have the right number of credits or varium crystals.
Fact: Changing one's profession requires extensive surgery that begins at tranquilizing the victim customer so that he may be moved to an Experiment Lab proper medical facility so that the surgeons can adapt the body for changing one's features to perfectly fit the desired profession. Sadly, the outcome is that the armor previously available to them may be too big, too constricting or too flowing to use if the profession change is extensive.

Myth: The Armor Hazard is a big vicious killing machine.
Fact : Lady Alydriah begs to differ, affectionately named "Fluffy", the armor hazard's armor plating is to help defend itself in the event some vicious poacher like the infamous 'Slayer' attempts to collect its armored hide. The claws are simply there to help clutch health packs from Valestra's Lounge while the feet are adapted to the steel and concrete ground.

Myth: The better the weapon looks, the better it performs.
Fact: Expensive swords are usually the center of attention in a dangerous fight, however, when surviving a hit from one of these mighty-looking weapons, one might wonder "How come I'm not dead?" It's simple. Lord Baelius implemented a weapon unlocking system that activates the full potential of a weapon when the user is skilled enough to handle the dangers involved with using them. The unlocking system, however, does not work for free and it will charge the user every time the weapon's potential is increased. Because of this, all weapons have a credit card slot somewhere.

Myth: Guns have no appropriate firing system (Triggers)
Fact: They do have appropriate firing systems. Rather than physical levers such as triggers, the weapon is electronically linked to the onboard system of the "Battle Finder". If the user desires to harm his opponent using a firearm, he/she could just think about firing the weapon. The gun will automatically fire if the user assumes the correct shooting stance for his firearm provided the previous condition is met.

Myth: Bloodlust drains your opponents blood and transfers it to you.
Fact: "Bloodlust" is a mental illness that refers to the desire to see blood being shed. During training, Shadow Guardsmen and women (Defectors from the corps turned into bounty hunters) were injected with a powerful, life-long drug that forces this mental illness to manifest in the form of violence during combat. This heightens their performance but dulls their minds due to the sheer desire to see bloodshed- No matter the cost. As for Blood Mages, Bloodlust occurs when a Tech Mage suddenly realizes that harming someone is more exciting when it's close and personal.

Myth: Bikes can run over people.
Fact: Thanks to technology, vehicles in Delta V are all programmed to scan for lifesigns and make adjustments to the trajectory of the vehicle to avoid pedestrians at all costs.

Myth: Citizens move from city to city in a flashes of blue light.
Fact: "Battle Finder" units are also equipped with portable teleporters that allow one to "Jump" to one teleportation hub regardless of their present location.

Myth: Your performance remains the same when enraged.
Fact: Adrenaline kicks in when the subject is sufficiently angered. This causes an increase in performance as the body is in "Fight or Flight" mode.

Myth: Receiving an uppercut is less harmful than being struck by a sword.
Fact: In comparison to being hit by melee weaponry or shot by firearms, an uppercut causes concussion and makes you disoriented. This would also cause you to become less angry because you lose your focus in a fight. There's also the chance of receiving a temporary amnesia.

Myth: Weapons are expensive.
Fact: Unlike others, Delta V is a purely liberal planet with no restrictive laws on weapons. Safety is a priority in a hostile planet, so all weapon bans are effectively vetoed. Because of this, weapon manufacturers thrive- Competition is harsh, so the general tactic to draw in more customers is to make weapons less expensive.

Myth: Healing is a slow process.
Fact: Thanks to innovative medical technology, one can effectively treat wounds in the heat of combat using standard-issue and freely-distributed field medic cases. Although the only flaw with this technology is that it is tiring and that there's a gap in between uses to prevent overtreatment of a patient.

Myth: Firearms never run out of ammo.
Fact: Technically speaking, yes, they do. However, most guns have a 1-shot or 2-shot burst limit every time they're used to reduce ammo consumption. Auxiliary heavy weapons, however, manufacture their own ammunition on-site but require some time before the next shot can be used.

Myth: Frysteland and the Barrens Outpost have contradictory climates.
Fact: True, the Barrens Outpost is a dry sun scorched plains-and-crevice while Frysteland is a frozen hillside on a secluded island. However, they are not an immediately connected climate. In the past, Frysteland was adjoined to an ice shelf that stretched down from the north pole. In fact, the original ice cap of the Delta V north pole was a much larger disc, extending southbound as far the Barrens. This process took millions of years to start and end, and is known as an ice age. The difference between why the Barrens and Frysteland being so different in climate temperature, is because of the landscape's material makeup. Because the Barrens Outpost is sandy rocky and dirty, the melting point of surrounding ice is lowered. This causes ice to warm faster. Also, because the Barrens is sun baked and next to the ocean, the atmosphere is exceedingly a high pressure zone with no clouds. Little to no clouds offer no insulation from the nearest star's radiation, increasing the exposure to visible light and ultraviolet radiation. In Frysteland, hills and mountains peak into the higher end of the troposphere where air is less dense and less active. Mountain tops are snow-covered because water vapour from the ocean streams upward against the mountain. When the vapour is too high to rise above the lighter air around it, it cools, forming clouds. These clouds precipitate as snow.

Myth: Body armor does nothing.
Fact: It does protect you. However, to unlock the more protective features, it requires you to deposit credits. This system was formulated by Baelius and came under fruition so that you'd be more resilient the more experience you earn.

Feel free to write up your own, I'd willingly add them in.
Note, I will edit it if it seems... Unfitting.
Also note that "Facts" are Legion-oriented so the use of slashes to "censor" cruelty would become a tad bit more common in the near future.
Also note that "Facts" must not break the 4th wall. Meaning no calling NPCs 'NPCs' and no calling players 'players'.

Myth: Mercs are underpowered.
Fact: Logically speaking, yes. Artillery strike and surgical strike are used by the merc's allies, not by the merc itself. Therefore, for a merc/TLM to be on par with TMs and BHs who can support themselves entirely, they must use the help of their off-screen, non-mentioned allies.

Fact: The players are held in place by a complicated force field system, which only allows for movement only on ones turn.

Myth: When you rage berseker, the animation goes much faster then without the rage.
Fact: If your adrenaline kicks in, you'll be able to run quicker, this also makes you empowered to fight which makes you glow red at the start, then by going mentally disabled saying ''HULK HULK HULK SMASH!!''

Myth: Chairman's pride takes away a percentage of your rage
Fact: If someone uppercut you, then you will feel dizzy and you don't have that potential to fight harder then what you did before the uppercut

Myth: Weapons cost alot
Fact: If you brought a real life weapon which was made out of gold, it would cost a ton. Exiles wouldn't of afford that if they have a bad looking faction HQ.

Myth: Static charge/Reroute gives you energy when doing x RAW damage
Fact: If you have a solar panel/wind turbine, that power from the sun to the solar panel will convert that energy from the sunlight to generate electricity. Also the power from the wind to the wind turbine will convert that wind energy into generating electricity from magnets inside the wind turbine.

Myth: Doing so many attacks when massacring
Fact: If you was in a boxing match, you would able to do combos. But the red flesh of the massacre would make you so intimidated

Myth: Healing in a game is quite strange
Fact: If you had rest for a day/week, you would feel much better then you did when you was in a fight. But if you had rest, you would have died since you was in the war & someone would've shot you with a ''BOOMING'' war cannon

Myth: If you EMP someone which did over 60+ because you had alot of technology
Fact: The more technology you have, the better and powerful it will be. Like in 1990s for example, internet was very bad those days where you had to do a dial connection to go on the internet. Now you don't need dial connections. Broadband providers have the most advanced technology in the world that they can improve it but make it much more powerful for example 1mb---->20mb---->50mb---->100mb. With all the power and technology legion has, we will conquer the world!!

Myth: Auxilaries never run out of ammo.
Fact: Thanks to innovative weapon desing, weapons are able to generate ammo. It takes a while, which causes the cooldown.

By Jove...

Myth - Superstition of unscientific or unrealistic origin.
Fact - Proven Statement.

You gents all love making the format:

Myth - Statement
Fact - Supporting Statement

Let me remind you that these two are supposed to contradict.

^The fact can be a supporting statement if the myth holds some truth to it.
