when playing in ED i play as a tank and there are other tanks also so i think its unfair that the Botanical Hazard bot is op. its ability is Inflicts 60% of your Robot's damage as poison over 4 turns but after that 4 turns is over there able to do the attack again, so the bots ability should ether be lowed or make it so the the ability can only be used once. thank you for tanking the time and reading this and i hope that this bot can be fixed ASAP.

The bot is strong, however not overpowered.

You said you play as a tank well this bot you want nerfed is designed to be effective against tanks as well as player who have low HP.

The bot is worthless against high hit point builds and glass cannons designed for damage output.

You and also weaken the bot's poison effect by using Malfuction, and omega override (if tech is the highest base stat).

It's basic attack damage is moderate to high-ranged, its poison attack is unblockable, poison can be reused, and you don't even need to invest tech to still get strong poison damage if you do the math right (for example, trying to get 60% of your bot damage to be 6.01 or something like that). The cumulative damage from the bot easily outranks other bots and the special is repeatable. The only exception in power has to be the Infernal Android, but that attack can only be used once, is deflectable, and IA's base damage is very weak, resulting in higher tech investments for more effective attacks.

I'd have to say the bot is pretty OP.

This rock-paper-scissors thing happening all the time in battle mechanics is not at all associated with balance. It's associated with luck because of the RNG's matchups.

@Mother
But not all players have omega override. I believe its actually designed for tank players at the same time against tank players or to counter bl. You can say fm but still you can use the special again and at that moment a bh/ other has not enough ep to perform a fm.

@ exploding

So a weapon (poison bot) that works well on one thing (low HP and Tanks) while not doing so well on other builds (High HP build and glass cannons) doesn't count for balance? Then please explain to me what is balance because last I checked a anything in the game used for battle needs to be strong against something and weak against something else to be balanced which is once again the rock paper scissors concept you say doesn't apply with balance.

@ Midnight

Omega override was also designed to counter stat abusers as well since the debuff is determined by how much the highest base stat has.

Also ever hear of healing early? I remember Exploding penguin putting this in another thread as a counter to this poison bot. Problem is most people don't want to use heal until they are halfway down the line. By then the bot has already cooled down and can be used again catching people in that trap.

lastly I was mentioning all the counters that could be used against this bot and put the odds in your favor.

@mother1: If you are to consider balance you have to exclude luck entirely, which means the complete matchup system. When taking balance into mind, you have to weigh each class's individual ability, not whether or not they get lucky because the population of glass cannons is more than, for example, a focus TM. A single person with the most ridiculous win ratio TM 1v1 build that no one else uses for whatever reason, but everyone else using a glass cannon build which can easily be countered or be a counter to other builds is definitely not balanced, because there exists a class that is obviously superior for its ridiculous win rate.

It really all comes down to how you define balance; to me balance is the highest win ratio build, most of the time being a build that has a viable counter or strategy against almost all possible opposing build types. Not some severe rock-paper-scissors where 60% of opposing builds lose and I almost always lose to 40% of another specific build type. But you or other people could define balance as whichever way is faster, whichever way currently gains the highest wins based off of build abundance and class/build populations. I would not factor population of builds and classes into balance because it is all luck based off of the matchup system. When considering balance, I only consider the top few builds that produce the highest win ratios for the class considering that everyone else is using the highest win ratio build(s) of their class.

Finally something reliable against low-hp tanks... and we have to nerf it? By definition something can't be considered OP if it only works against one build. Example: pyro fly is OP b/c i rely on max supercharge and it can be totally negated for the whole battle. Rock-paper-scissors guys!

Overpowered means it's too strong in any situation and has no viable counter to it that works, with exception of luck which may be in your favour but probability is not a counter.

Hazard being OP would be a different story if the Poison was stronger on glass cannons, but it's not. Dealing 3 damage + 6-8 DpT afterwards on a build that has 120-140 HP is... useless. They'll likely outdamage you and you will lose. This is the case for Poison skills as well, they aren't effective on high HP builds.

If you cannot counter it with Heal, raise your HP. Don't want to raise your HP? Then deal with the Poison. You will not have best of both - great defence and high HP. You sacrifice one for the other. Offence could be crippled if you want high HP but then you have to deal with low weapon damage. On the other hand, you can make a "hybrid" and try to be jack of all trades (master of nothing). This way, you can counter it but not perfectly, instead you aren't put in the position where the Poison is deadly.
