 NERF MERCENARY BACK Nerf that Bunker Buster! Waaaaay 2 strong.Try just 15% crit.Or no ''Defence Ignore''....

Bunker blaster is suppose to be strong since it is a move used to combat tanks. Nerfing bunker to were it doesn't ignore defenses or lowering it's crit chance defeats the purpose of it being a move to combat tanks.

Also there are many ways to counter this move.

1 If you are a cyber hunter or tech mage Malfuction weakens the damage given.
2 If you have the omega promo use omega override. If tech is their highest stat it get's weakened.

Consective shot if it hits the move can put it on cooldown
Pyro swarm if it hits bunker can take it out of the game

Then there are energy drains cores and skills. They can't bunker if they don't have the energy for it.

I'm not sure if he means Bunker Buster. Bunker buster is fine. He is probably complaining about how well it works with static smash.

Merc doesn't need a nerf, its strength variants were already nerfed and now the static/bunker build is all they have. If those were to get a nerf, something else would need a buff to compensate.

I am reading the post, and the person is talking about bunker. I see no mention of static smash.

If anything, the rest of the classes need a buff considering merc is a well balanced class.

i think merc is a great class for 2v2 but rather inefficient at 1v1. i think merf needs a skills that would buff specifically their 1v1 ability.
one way would be to decrease the minimum support for hybrid armour, to 34, like other passive requiresments, to allow them to have the same freedom as other classes.

 Merc holds so many fatal weaknesses in 1v1 it isn't even funny. This ranges from their inability to maintain good defenses without having at least moderate support, to not even being able to counter debuffs and being left completely vulnerable to them. It's honestly only a good class in 2v2 where your ally can supplement your weaknesses.

yeah :/ and even with the bot, it can only be used once, and typically, i find both enemies have a debuff, and will target the other player to ensure that only one can be de-debuffed.

i know its strategy but it gives wayt oo much gap for mercs "SPeical high defensie skill" to be punched through

what use is an additional 5 defence, when they can take 10-12 defense and the bonus from those stats, 2 times 1 game? it provides very little comfort without someone else's help.

Merc sucks, all they can do is Bunker, then Static Smash, then Bunker again. Skill balance is severely lacking in many classes.

thats where youre wrong.
mercs can do better at sterngth builds for damage output than BH's or BM's hoeverm, without bloodlust, they cannot compete against the other two.

Mercs can do just about any build. It is the most well balanced class, thus making it seem OP in comparison to the other, unbalanced classes.

theyre balanced well, yes, but other classes have clear advantages from most aspects over them in battle

 You don't seem to understand it either. They can and it DOES make them good. Other classes can do better? Well, aren't you forced into a build just to perform better than if you were to have a different build? Isn't the purpose of balance to be equal? (of course derp builds wouldn't be good but with some thinking...)

that opinion alwso varies from person, to person and you cannot claim that one certain is OP over the rest because it doesnt suck at a single type of game play. because consequently, that doesnt mean its necessarily good at it.
Yes, mercs are balanced for different types of gameplay, but overall, whats most important is synergy. bwithin the build and interbuilds. teamwork and cooperation is the only save your sorry butt from a near death experience, and frankly, Merc can put very little on the table that would save it from a dire situation. this is also because of balance.

All in all, im not saying the class is UP, but it certainly isnt OP. it just has a completely different sets of strengths and weaknesses than other builds.

Mediocre at many things? A merc, with any person with half a brain crafting the build, can excel at just about any build they so choose.

but they cannot be prepared for everything, like a BH or TM

they cannot shield stats they needs, or recover/improve stats they lost. they can only decrease (at best) what has been taken, and puts them at quite the disavantage.

however: eanswer me this then:
if merc is as good as you guys put it. how come we so much BM's BH's, TM, and even CH's yet tactical mercenary are rather uncommon, as well as regular merc.
9/10 times you encounter any kind of merc in 1v1

 If a class has a build that's superior than the other, then you won't see much diversity because it won't be as good. But if you think enough, a "medicore" build will be as good as the one which excels at something.

if a build is better than the rest... then it is not as good? thats what you seem to be saying....
well no, hence the word "Superior"

a "Mediocre" build will never be as good as one which excels, because by dictionary definition: it is mediocre./ it is approximately better than 50% of other builds, and worse than the other 50%



can you rephrase what you are trying to say pleases?

I have to disagree with you there. I use a build that doesn't excel in every area, yet at the same time I beat builds that do excel all areas that I don't. While it isn't 100% win ratio I can beat them because while my build is mediocre I know how to use my build to exploit their weaknesses.

It is all about how you use the build in each situation that counts.

 Ideally, a class should have a range of builds available - for example, TM has Caster (Tech/Dex), Glass Cannon and Hybrid. All of them work fine. On the other hand, TLMs will likely have high Tech and possibly Support builds, as well as few Str builds but not as common.

Going by that, you're forced into one or two builds for the given class, just to be able to compete. It's easy to understand so I don't see what you could not understand in my post. BHs abuse Tech like there's no tomorrow due to synergy, and there's almost no other build that BHs use. This is not right. A medicore by definition > exceling, but ANY build can excel in its own area if you use your brain every now and again.

In other words, a class is supposed to have a range of available builds. Players shouldn't be forced into one or two builds just to be able to compete with their class. Example? High Tech BHs. Even though medicore > excel, using a brain can change it.

No, mercs can't pull off a successful dex build (they used to back in delta, but now using a dex build to try and prolong fights with static smash looping is inefficient because the opponent just burns your energy and their own as fast as possible). Their strength builds, when blocked (which can happen quite often with shadow arts and/or smoke), almost lead to an immediate win for the opponent, and even if they aren't blocked they only have an average chance of winning the fight. Even with adrenaline's rage multipliers a block won't get you rage fast enough to compensate.

You are claiming that the Mercenary class needs a nerf. Specifically, a nerf to Bunker Buster. Your only evidence is, "Waaaaay 2 strong". This is an anecdote. This is not evidence to support your claim. Your solution is null until you can provide real evidence. Math, numbers, stats. Make sure you compare Mercenary to every class before claiming that Mercenary needs a nerf out of all classes. Even if you aren't as experimental in your logic as others, I think that your current reason, which is way too strong, needs to be backed up by an actual argument. I know you want merc nerfed because it's supposedly too strong, but why is it too strong?
