What are your thoughts on the recent cores? This includes Critical Heal, Piston Punch, Strenght/Dexterity/Technology/Support Boost and also the Jack-O-Fire (now availible for credits)

I liked the original jack-O-fire better personally. sure it was luck based, but at the same time you couldn't abuse it like most do now. Plus I loved seeing the effect happen more than once per battle.

As for the new cores I haven't tried them yet myself so I have no thoughts on them.

Critical Heal is hard to use because you need to heal early or risk being killed by a rage bludgeon and such.
Punch core is assimilate with 3 damage.
Stat boosts are the best but very expensive it's not worth it.
Jack-O-Fire is nice.

They are feasible but however, it doesn't have much benefit. Critical Heal is hard to use since I get easily killed with 15 HP remaining. Piston Punch is workable, but I prefer Generator. The Stat Boost Cores are very expensive, and I can't even apply whatever core I want...

I am not sure about critical heal.

Piston punch can be used very tactically, like steeling enemies heal/bludgeon/smoke/etc. - maybe forcing them to use generator while not needed otherwise (as in still full HP). Could also "undo" a TMs assimilator or "weaken" a mercs static smash.

Stats boost... i'm relieved and sad at the same time, that there are no permanent versions.

Jack-O is fluffy, but too expensive (have a ton of items to upgrade plus a new class change to spend my currently not existing credits on ^^ ). Maybe i buy it as a lvl 1 weapon if i can rack up enough money.

I'm thinking I won't be seeing a lot of Jack-O-Fire rather than Meteor Shower among non-varium players, as it's very expensive as far as credits go. I'm also very disappointed the stat boosters didn't get permanent versions, there have been a lot of discussion on this matter here on the forums, yet the devs didn't implement it (yet)

Haven't tested the new cores myself, so thanks for the feedback on them!

I think the critical heal is pretty neat... Piston punch, another core that slaps another skill. Might see less assimilations around.

I cant believe u guyz dont see this...piston punch is going to unbalance the game even more.

Now the classes which were able to take opponents energy will be even weeker against the likes of BM.

what do you guyz think?

thanks

beast.

^ Bear in mind that if the Str BM uses Piston Punch, it would be giving up the damage it would have dealt that turn, and the HP gain and the rage.

Quick qeustion, do you guys hope these cores stay or go rare? I'm talking about the stat boosters and two new armour cores. I mean, if anything it would add more variety to the game, but I'm thinking of buying extras in case they go rare and I need them on another armour.

This heal core is quite good. I seem to be winning a lot more with it around.

Eh, They are pretty good. Needs some obvious adjusting but making battles for my build easier.

I really like Jack-O-fire core goes really well with my build. Does anyone know if we can purchase the core and where from?

@TheChosen

Hmm, what were you chosen for?

On topic: I don't see these cores in battle very often. Every once in a while I see a tank with critical heal and it's a pretty good core for what it does and who it's meant for. No problems for me anyways.
