I have this hunch that at the time Titan (the creator of EpicDuel) or Nightwraith was intrigued by some concept in science and wanted to make their game more science-fiction. And at that time they were trying to integrate random concepts into their game to do this. They decided that "physical" and "energy" would fit nicely as the terms used to describe 2 different types of damage. Funnily enough, "physical" and "energy" are not opposite or descriptive at all. Physical only describes something that belongs to physics, and physics is: how and why things act. And energy, is something that describes the activity of a thing. The more energetic something is, the more active it is. Even things that are not moving have energy, rest energy, and we learned that matter and energy are convertible with each other. I know exactly what Titan and Nightwraith mean when they are talking about "physical" damage, and when they are talking about "energy" damage. They are simply using the wrong terms. When they say "physical" damage, they mean "kinetic" damage. And when they say "energy" damage, they mean "electrical" damage. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion, how things move. When a club hits you over the head, it is delivering force upon you in the form of kinetic energy in a collision. When a taser nabs you in the belly, it is not smacking you with moving objects, it is completing a circuit of jumping electrons as voltage through your muscles and through your heart (potentially). This is called electricity. It makes sense to rename "physical" damage (very obscure) to kinetic damage, and "energy" damage (wrong concept right idea) to "electrical" damage. This would make so much sense.
