Honestly, this move is never used. I think it should be replaced with something new. What exactly? I don't know. Any knew idea really. They don't have to invent any new skill, but anything in its place would be better. I'd be happier with double strike rather then shadow arts. Does anyone else feel this way? Anyone else feel a different move should be in its place?

I use this move. Its pretty helpful for me against users of that hatchling rush core, but then again, my build is not your typical bh build. I have base amount of health (750), but with a ton of def and resist (about 37-40 and 36-42). It's especially helpful right before some1 rages me. I think the reason many don't use it is because of the energy cost especially because bh doesn't really have a decent regen... Maybe if they reworked static grenade, and lowered the energy cost. I think that it is an awsome skill (but could cost less energy). I don't mind if they put a different move in its place if its balanced, but I think it just needs lower energy cost, and/or static grenade reworked.

i use it for my cy hunter it actually comes in handy and i even win some matches because of it, the cost could be lowered tho

The cost-effectiveness of this skill isn't on par with others. More people would find a way to use it if it became less EP-costly.

They should make it max at 70% for 20 energy, but last for 2 turns. Then it will be good.

That would be too strong. Basically blocking everything, even unblockables.

Shadow arts doesn't make you block. It reduces damage by a %

Teserve, it would cost energy and only be in effect for 2 turns.

If were being honest here, not many people really use it bc of both its energy cost and also there is no need for it. firstly, because if u were to be smoked u can just use reflex boost which is pretty good. secondly, if u were malfed u can just use energy shield.I'm sure there are builds that do not have a lot of support which makes these skills less beneficial. Nevertheless, we need some sort of balance with this skill because it is as if we have an empty slot in both bh and ch skill tree's.

It has a high support requirement for support anyways. And as stated, there are already defenses for both physical and energy that work off of support, providing much higher defenses for lower costs... So what IS the point of this skill anymore? I have not seen any successful builds with it. I have seen attempts with it, and I have attempted to use it, but none have been successful. I really do not know what to place in its stead, but I feel this skill has no real use for either classes it is in.

2 defencive skills is enough lets switch it with a suitable affencive move instead?

Assuming your opponent attacks every turn and so do you ( except when using shadow arts), Shadow Arts actually gives them an edge by 16% damage.

First strike damage before after Shadow arts= 100%

Max Shadow arts prevents 28% of an attack. 28 x 3 = 84% reduction overall

100% - 84% = 16% disadvantage



Correct me if this isn't the case.

I agree. But double strike got nerved, I don't think it will do much for the class.

In my original post I said I'd rather take double strike then shadow arts. But I do agree, it gives the attacker a boost.

Well I will use it if they increase the duration of this skill for 3 turns to 4 turns .... otherwise this skill is useless coz we hunters have different shield which is better than it and SA right now does not gives any advantage as a whole + cost too much energy

I'd take an offensive skill that deals the damage type of the enemies lower defense. Possibly with an increasing damage % increase. Now THAT'D be a cheap shot.

It needs a small buff to its %'s (up to 30% at Level 10, from 28% - buff of 2% at all levels), and change cost scaling from +20 EP per skill level, to +10 EP per skill level (up to 200 EP at Level 10).

This would be a sufficient buff. Of course, it wouldn't be exactly on par with Shield-based skills, but unlike Shields, it doesn't give your opponent bonus rage, due to your very high defenses, as well as reducing damage from all sources - not just one type.

I made a thread a while ago suggesting a buff very similar to that Trans, but everyone was against it. I think mainly because at the time no one wanted BH to be any stronger because it already had a powerful static grenade.

How about instead of giving static grenade a buff perhaps trade shadow arts for a skill like assimalation. If not make a change to static grenade like damage. Because it doesnt give much energy.

1. Static Grenade is OK as it is right now ( and this thread is about Shadow Arts :P)

2. No more assimilation type skill as it has become one of the most powerful skill after passive were removed and "energy in everything" is introduced

I totally support your post at least it will be better cost per energy skill if it is done in your way .......... or just increase it duration from 3 to 4.
