Thomas shivered with a chill as he struck the flint against his steel penknife. Few sparks were being produced at this point. He had been consumed by this task for the past several minutes leaving his flint a mess. Every flare that flew from his hands filled him with a hope that was immediately dashed as the damp grass didn't catch. He took some time to gaze up at the sky. It was almost nighttime. The sun was slowly sinking beneath the treetops of the forest, leaving him in an increasing state of darkness. He could hear the low grumbling of the monsters. As the stark reality of his situation dawned on him, he stood up, grabbed his now blunt ax and ran for a haven. Thomas just couldn't face the monsters again, their slime, their eyes, their foul breath. The very worst thing his mind could ever fathom. The creatures wasted no time in following. He could hear the steady sound of footsteps- or clawsteps? He wasn't sure which one was after him now. The now snarling beast was almost upon him, despite his best effort to escape a gory death. Thomas lost track of time, but his ragged breath and numb legs told him he had been running for quite some time. A glance at the sky would reveal that the night was almost half over. He was winning. Thomas just then stumbled into the direct moonlight. A clearing, displaying the beautiful purple sky and countless stars was laid out in front of him. One end was a forest and the other end was a sheer drop cliff into the shallow coastal waters off of the island. Thomas steeled himself, readied his ax and turned towards the forest. The monster stepped out... No! It was one of Them. The scantily clad man, having only a loincloth, medicine sack and a knife hanging from his belt, approached Thomas. Thomas said, stuttering profusely, "What... what do you want with me? I... I am just a laborer from Enfield."
The savage replied, more to himself than to Thomas, "This one will do finely for our master. Not often one survives over 2 moons on the island."
Thomas began to back away, but he had reached the end of the cliff. Seeing no alternative, Thomas lunged at the hunter, hoping to get the surprise in his favor. The warrior only smirked at the eagerness and swiftly sidestepped. Thomas stumbled with his unexpected momentum, giving the savage all the time he needed. Brandishing the knife, the savage chanted a quick prayer and pounced on Thomas. He was pinned down and straddled by the hunter. Thomas used his one free arm to reach for his ax, but it was just out of reach. The hunter brought the knife above his head, letting the moonlight glint off of the dull stone surface, and brought it down directly into Thomas's chest. The warrior rotated the blade, making the already gaping hold wider as the breath escaped Thomas and his life drained out of his body into the cool night. Standing to admire his handiwork, the savage took several steps back. He gave a satisfied grin into the pitch black woods. "Have I done well, Master?"

You find yourself awake, completely bare in the English wilderness...

This game is a survival A&R game that I thought up, heavily inspired by Don't Starve. You wake up, with no memory of how you got there, in a gloomily forested island off the coast of Great Britain. You must use your wits and survival skills to keep yourself alive, fed, warm, energized, hydrated and sane. That should be enough to keep yourself busy, until the addition of a dark group of natives, and a supernatural force comes into play. Can you, an average citizen of 19th century England, survive against a dark god and a relentless and ever-changing wilderness?

Mechanics
You have to keep this things in the black to successfully survive.

Temperature:
Temperature doesn't come into play unless it is in an Autumn or Summer season.

You must, in these times, stay warm. You can keep your heat up using one big way, or several of these smaller ways.
- Fire: Fire gives a +5 temp per turn. During Autumn, you need a level two fire to stay warm. During Winter, you need a level 4 fire to stay warm.
- Clothing (In Autumn): Light Clothing +0 Medium clothing +2 Heavy Clothing +4
- Clothing (In Winter): Light Clothing +0 Medium Clothing +1 Heavy Clothing +2
- Activity: Working yourself (Including things like running in place) give you a +2 in Autumn and a +1 in Winter. Also, it gives fatigue a +5

I personally love don't starve. What can I say, I'm and Indie gaming girl >U<

Anyway, as I said, don't starve is a great game, and I would love to join this OOC. 2 questions though!

1: When do apps start, and what are they

2: What level of magic will be in the world. Will it be as much as don't starve? More? Less?

Whoops, I was gone today and friday afternoon so I missed these. And I accidently put the game thread in OOC

@salene
1. I don't know yet
2. Spoiler

@daimyo daimyo
1. No, overheating won't be an issue
2. Yes
3. A normal turn of regular activity is +5 fatigue, so increased activity gives double per turn
4. Light clothing will be very light, almost naked. Like grass suits and loincloths. No real elemental protection.

Redirect all responses to here.
