Fantasy Role Play Compendium I figured this would be a fun little reference thread. It's nothing to major, just a place to discuss fantasy role playing elements. That includes classes, races, and maybe schools of magic (which can be iffy depending on who you are). In other words, come here and suggest any common classes/races and provide a basic description of each one. I will also accept custom races. The only rule is that you can't go overboard; don't create a bunch of random classes and races for the sake of doing it, only do it when you really feel like they're a worthy addition to the Compendium. If you see a description of a class or race that you do not agree with, or would like to make an alternate version of that race/class, please do tell and we can add it as well. Races Man Human - Humans in fantasy tend to be the middle-ground of other races. They stand an average of 5-6 feet, are known to be capable warriors, archers, wizards, and more. Varan - TJByrum - Tall, fair-skinned, natural-born warriors of the north. Elf Blood Elves Dark Elves (Drow) - Dark-skinned elves known for their ability to use powerful and destructive magic. High Elves - The noble, magically-gifted, fair-skinned, tall, and lithe elves. Night Elves - Purple or blue-skinned elves of the night with powerful magical abilities. Wood Elves - Fair-skinned elves adept with magic and archery, usually living in forested villages. Dwarves Dwarves - Short but strong people, usually living in mountains. Renowned miners and smiths, dwarves are also usually technologically advanced. Orcish Orc - Sometimes evil, bloodthirsty, green-skinned warriors, living in tribes scattered across their homeland. They are typically led by a warchief, and value courage in battle. Goblin - Short, cunning, sly beasts. Troll Beast Other Ziori - TJByrum Classes Basic Classes - These are classes that characters may start with in a roleplay. They're the bare-bones, down-to-earth, standard role playing professions. When a player trains enough in a Basic Class they may upgrade into an Advanced Class. Archer - Well-trained with the bow, Archers are agile and quick, valued for their accuracy. Barbarian - Fierce, fearless, and strong, Barbarians are the first to charge into battle with their great two-handed weapons. They wear very little to no armor at all that helps them quickly move through the battlefield. Bard Caster - Basic spellcasters, Casters are able to augment their allies abilities in battle as well as use average spells to help turn the tide of battle. Healer - Healers are often sought after due to their ability to heal their allies in the midst of battle. Hunter/Huntress - Similar to Archers, except they usually live in or near a forest. Hunters/Huntresses tend to rely on animal-like instincts to help them in battle. Thief - Known to be pickpockets and criminals, Thieves are great at stealthy operations. Warrior - Although not nearly as fanatical as a Barbarian, Warriors rely on skill, armor, and a good defense when going into battle. Advanced Classes - These are classes that may become available to players after they have mastered one of the Basic Classes. Assassin - Most Assassins come from a Thief background but some may rely on magical abilities such as a Caster. They are masters of stealth and can assassinate a target unnoticed. Blade Master - An elite Barbarian, Blade Masters are extremely dangerous but known for their honor. Knight - An advanced form of the Warrior, Knights wear strong plate armor in conjunction with shields and melee weapons. Ranger - An advanced form of the Archer, Rangers are known to be quick, agile, hard to keep an eye on, and are especially deadly with the bow. Sorcerer - An advanced form of the Caster, Sorcerers are able to call upon powerful magic to help and support their allies in battle. Special Classes - Special Classes result from a combination of at least 2 or more Basic/Advanced Classes to merge into a single, stronger class. Some Special Classes may require the player to commit their allegiance to a specific alignment or morality. There are a few exceptions where the Special Classes may only need 1 Advanced Class. Cleric - A dedicated Healer who has promised to serve the greater good for the rest of their lives. They provide massive healing spells as well as the ability to turn and destroy undead enemies. Crusader Dark Knight Demon Knight - Corrupted individuals who have sold their soul to some underworld entity, Demon Knights are known for their melee skills as well as their fire-based magic. Necromancer - Necromancers were once Casters of Sorcerers, but have turned their backs on good and resorted to the dark arts. They are able to use powerful dark magic and summon undead minions to fight for them. Paladin - Paladins are the holy warriors of light. They have skills of a Knight and the powers of a Healer, able to act as both the brunt of the attack and support their allies in battle. They are especially ideal against the undead. Sentinel Templar - An offshoot of Paladins, Templars are well-trained Knights who fight for a specific religion. Some Templars may have Healer-based magic. Epic Classes - Epic Classes are rare and result from a combination of 2 or more Special Classes. Death Knight - [Paladin+Necromancer] Well-trained knights of darkness, Death Knights were once former Knights (or in some cases, former Paladins) who were corrupted either through betrayal or their lust for greed and power. Death Knights wear formidable plate armor, wield powerful weapons, and use dark necrotic powers to augment them in battle. Other Classes - If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it goes here.
