Lets look at the main ones our there. We have Str, Dex, Tech, and Sup builds that heavily specialize in just one stat. We have Dex-Tech builds that sacrifice all of their str and supp to have higher def and resist. We have F5 builds that emphasize robots. Then there are the hp overload people, and the same with energy. My build is the F4-Defender. What's the difference? Well, the minimum stat is Supp at 40. The highest and second highest are Dex and Tech (interchangeable as needed by class). There should be a distince difference between the Dex and Tech (they should NOT be nearly equal). Third highest (and only slightly behind your second highest...no drastic drop in stats here). Energy should only have enough to do 2 actions and a heal. HP should stray on the low side, but still use good judgement here. Skills: Emphasis here should be on all skills that boost Def/Dex and Resist/Tech. You will want to make sure that use of either one will add 60% at minimum to either your def or resist (in the case of hybrid armor just max it). Second emphasis should be and Def/Resist lowering/ignoring attacks, such as Malfunction, Smoke Screen, Frenzy, etc. Keep these skills as High as possible. Third emphasis should be on energy-regaining skills, such as Battery Backup, Static Charge, Static Smash, etc., as well as the generator core (extremely useful, but not absolutely necessary). Gear: If you have Malfunction, use an energy primary and bot, physical sidearm and aux. If you have Smoke Screen, use a physical primary and bot, energy sidearm and aux. Bot choice, of course, should lend itself to your specific preferences (for example, I play jugg often as Techmage and CyberHunter, so I chose the Dark Botanical Borg for both due to its multi attack skill). Make sure your armor is higher on your weaker stat (for example, one of my accnts has high dex with tech 2nd, so I put most of my armor on def, and less on resist. My def and resist are now almost perfectly equal.) Additional note, Concussive Shot aux core can prove quite useful, but rather unpredictable, so again, not absolutely necessary and should never deterimine yout strategy. General Strategy: Upon entering the fight, evaluate your opponent(s) for which damage type you will be likely to recieve the most of. Use the appropriate boost (see skill section) on your first turn, unless there is a significant reason to do otherwise. Next turn apply your nerf. If they respond with their own armor, use your sidearm and aux, which will be doing the opposite damage type, and thus circumventing their armor (unless it is Hybrid, in which case choose the lower of their def/resist). With lvl 4 focus and tech as your highest or second highest stat, your robot will be a highly valuable tool (mine will regularly do 400+ with no rage, 500+ with rage). Make sure you save/gain/steal enough energy to heal (skill, not gen core) once you are below 40% hp, and then try to regain enough energy to be able to heal again when Field Medic cools down. It is also wise to activate another boost towards the end, but should be carefully weighed against how much damage you expect to recieve, whether or not they have the Infernal Android, and how much damage you expect to deal. In other words, it is more important to heal when below 40% hp than to activate boost. Boosts are best use when above 80% hp. Since you will have reasonable str, do not forget about striking, as this will help conserve your energy as needed. Raging on Bot is suggested (of course), but you should use your bot as opportunity presents itself as well, since rage gain may come slowly at times, and most bots will cool down from an early usage in time for rage. Pairing of Bot, Rage, and nerf skills are preferable (or any two of the above), but again, not absolutely necessary. The key is the evaluation of your opponent(s) main damage types, as well as optimal usuage of all your weapons. A F3-Defender version is also useful for players under lvl 25. Used properly, this build is strong against Super-Str, Str, Dex, Tech, and Supp builds. Super-Hp and Super-energy builds pose little problem usually. F5 builds can prove difficult to beat, but not impossible. Make sure you heal-loop against F5 builds and play conservatively, using your F4-Defender build wisely. So, try it out, and tell me what you think.
