Beating the Crystal Queen Spider and the Crystallized Clawg have to be arguably the most refreshing battles in the game so far (imo) because they aren't just about engaging in combat, but also involve lots of map interaction. I hope to see more of these beasties in the future. Unfortunately, AQ3D's combat so far is incredibly shallow which makes it difficult to bring variety to monsters. Because of this, the game is lacking in noteworthy battles for me. One of the main problems with AQ3D's combat for me is that it is too passive due to it recycling the combat from AQW. However, I am aware that there have been attempts to bring varieties to monster battles. The Slime Lord and Necroknight are slightly amusing due to their AoE mechanics, though they either extend the battle or make them more open attacks instead of making them more challenging. And outside of AoE, those bosses aren't really engaging, much like most other bosses in the game. All these bosses may boast skillsets, but besides the casting AoE there's no real way to counter them which lessens the need of strategy. If classes were given skills to mitigate specific effects perhaps these battles may be more enticing. In the end, this just calls for the need of gameplay development. Considering they have only 3 months left before official launch, I understand that this is a high-stress period for the development team. That said, I think time could have been managed better during earlier stages such as Alpha, which is why I hope the next 3 months are spent more productively. I also think it is time for them to focus less on content and more on gameplay. I know that the content team is separate from the gameplay team but releasing more content at this point of time would mean the game would be harder to rebalance, especially considering the gameplay changes on the way. I also believe that the content team can instead work with the gameplay team to improve existing parts of the game. What's more, a large chunk of gameplay is underdeveloped or primitive to otger games, namely combat, even for a Beta stage. This is why I believe that the focus on gameplay is paramount. But of course, content should not be entirely forgoed, but just less emphasized on in favor of larger priorities.
