Two skills that aren't working to their maximum potential is shadow arts and hatchling rush.

Starting with shadow arts: The description of this skill is to reduce all incoming damage by a certain %. So it reduces:
- physical damage
-Energy drain skills (It should reduce all since Mercs static smash is affected)

Now my problem is the fact that it affects energy drain skills. You see, if it can affect energy drain skills then, by saying "All incoming damage" in the description, then the following skills should also be affected:

-Poison
-The minimum damage threshold (30 damage)
-The minimum damage threshold for ultimate skills (200 damage)
-Black Abyss Necrosis core
-Malf
-Smoke
-Intimidate
-Kartherax Core
- Even platinums pride
-Infernal cores

My reasoning: It's simply in the description. Once you allowed shadow arts to affect energy drain and gain you simply made it clear that shadow arts is to reduce ALL incoming.


Now onto Hatchling rush: This skill is said to "lower the amount healed by your enemy". Well it affects health, but shouldn't it also affect energy? I mean that only makes sense since one in the game is capable of restoring (healing) their energy pool with skills like:
-Battery Backup
-Static Nade
-Parasite
-Generator
-Piston
-Static Smash
-Atom Smash
-Assimilation

My reasoning: When one uses any of the skills above they are, undoubtedly healing theselves but just their energy pool.

What do you guys think? Or am I just looking too much into it. Feel free to express yourselves in a respectful manner

The skills are working exactly as intended. The description for Shadow Arts should be rewritten to be clearer though.

Okay, since you're a dev ill trust your word. Rewriting shadow arts would help a ton.

What about hatchling rush though?

'Healed' in the context of EpicDuel has only ever referred to HP. As such Hatchling Rush's description is sufficiently clear.

Why would a debuff be affected by a skill that reduces damage by a percent. That makes no sense. Your just thinking about it way to hard for no reason.

When you get hit it says "[insert number] damage" on your character.

It shouldn't reduce anything that doesn't actually say the word "damage" when taking the hit. Meaning they should fix the static smash thing to not be affected by it.
Aside from that, debuffs shouldn't be affected by it.

Assimilation's energy drain is considered an effect rather than 'damage', like Parasite. The damage component of these skills is the 85% primary damage strike.

Well sorry Cookiesaregood for "thinking about it way too hard for no reason" but "thinking about it way too hard for no reason" has actually clarified a ton of things up in this game and fixed a ton of bugs. So I don't really understand what you mean?

On topic: If static smash is the only energy drain skill that's affected....that should be fixed asap. Please and thank you.

@Exploding Penguin: With that reasoning poison itself should be affected... right?

@All: The way I was thinking about this is that since static smash is affected then I THOUGHT shadow arts was supposed to not only affect the damage dealt, bbut reduce a % of the EFFECT of that particular skill since static smash IS AFFECTED. If static smash being affected is wrong, and just a bug, then that clarifies EVERYTHING. If not however, then shadow arts should affect every skills effect.

This is something that could go either way because while poison damage itself is damage,

1. When you are poisoned how is blending into the shadows going to save you from the damage
2. Poison has maintained the property in the game as being immune to mitigation so I wouldn't be surprised if it kept this property through shadow arts.

Well, based on SSM's post, Poison is considered as an effect, so it wouldn't be blocked, like Assim. Static grenade and EMP are mitigated by SA as well.

Since Poison is considered an effect, and so is static smash then, then static smash by reason and logic shouldn't be affected by shadow arts.... right guys?

Static smash unlike poison draws it's power from a percentage of primary damage which is why Static smash and atom smasher are affected by shadow arts. Poison on the other hand isn't tied to weapon damage but separate like Assimilation's effect which is why it isn't affected where as Static and atom smasher are.

It is also the same reason why Static and atom smasher are affected by katerax's special where as Assimilation and energy parasite aren't.
