Name: Ghost God
Level: 40
Class: Merc
Server/s: Epic

Operating System: win 10
Browser: Firefox
Flash Player Version: unknown right now
Internet Connection (wireless, high-speed, etc.): high-speed

Brief Description: I've got 146 support. The reason I did this is because at 146 support the majority of support builds I should fight should have 140 support (132 +6 on underdog (given their rank) and maybe the +2 eternal core). The bug is that over the course of 7 days, I made sure to encounter and record 300 support Mercs with 130-140 support.

My problem? I went second 283 times out of 300 when I had higher support. athat doesnt even include the ones with 120 support. Somethings wrong here guys, come on and fix this please.

Now devs told me that every LEVEL underneath lvl 40 gets a 5% bonus chance to go first. So why does it feel like lower rank players are getting a 5% bonus chance to? They shouldnt be, doesnt even matter if im 10, 20, 30 or 100 ranks above them. Devs said level, not rank. Which means theres no absolute reason whatsoever i should be going second 283 times out of 300 when i fight someone with 6-16 support lower than me.

Please check this.

Not going to discredit your bug because I do believe it's always worthwhile to double check battle calculations but ranks do equal levels. eLvls are used for match making purposes so it would also be believable that they are used in first strike calculations

10 ranks=1 eLevel
1 level = 1eLevel
Ranks do affect first strike - the first strike formula uses eLevels, not levels.

Yea that's my point exactly. Its supposed to use levels instead of ranks, but it feels like its using levels or somethings definitely wrong. Maybe theres no cap to the 1st turn % chance?

Ghost god I think you are missing the point. Ranks raise the effective level cap to I believe 48. Every ten legendary points equals one level and the only reason the cap isn't 50 because of NPC legendary points

Even if eLevels are not considered, a player with 33-34 support less than you can start before you.

The thing though is that it wont be as frequent. I don't care if its fair, however I do care when its absolutely certain 90%+ of the time that im going second and being discriminated against because of my ranks which I played fair and square for

Its not a bug. Its a balance problem so you used the wrong forum.

The formula for first strike is:
0.5 + 0.015 * (your support – opponent's support) + (-1 * (your level – opponent's level) * 0.05)
It is mathematically incorrect I think and very puzzling.

With your numbers it could be:
0.5 + 0.015 * (146 – 135) + (-1 * (48 - 40) * 0.05)
= (0.5 + 0.015) * (11 -0.05)
= 0.515 * 10.95
= 5.64%

Which means you had first strike 17 times in 300. 300/100=3. 17/3 = 5.66%
Everything works correct.

With a 5% chance to go first, I should go first about 20 times every 100 matches.

100/5=20

That means out of 300 I should have went first at least 60 times. I went first 17 times in this situation.

So of the 60 times I should have went first, estimated of course, I went first 17 times which is %35 of the amount of times I should have been granted first turn. That's unbalanced. That's not fair.

By your calculation a 1% chance to start first should give you 100/1=100 times to start first out of 100 matches.

5% means 5/100, not 20/100.
