I played all base classes and I can say that the warrior is my favourite one followed by the rogue and then the mage.Warrior is not the strongest of the base classes it has the worst defense and no big diference in offense to lets say mage but it has the greatest animations of all classes in this game. Rogue has I must say has awsome defense and offense in my opnion is the strongest base class I ever played but the animations are so fast and it annoys me, mage well its boring its powerful and all but the animations are boring and well that is the problem.

Honestly speaking, I feel that the base classes are one of the strongest classes, especially Warrior Armor.

There's a mix of all kinds of skills in there, basically, a complete package.

While I agree that the animations can get a bit boring from time to time and the defense might not be up to mark, but hey, every class has its downsides. The offense, nonetheless is really rock solid in every way. And as the saying goes, 'A Good Offense is the Best Defense'.

So, strong, good-for-emergencies, easy-on-mana and trustworthy at the end of the day, that's the Warrior Armor.

I feel like I'm best with warrior, but I think that Rogue is the best of the three. Some fantastic defense, and pretty good offense(though not as good as warrior's), I think it's more balanced, but better at higher levels, unlike warrior, which is better at lower levels as I see it.

Well, the only class I've ever really played with is Mage. And it's a lot of fun. And it has one thing over Rogue and Warrior: a multi with no cool down. I admit, it's not the easiest class to train, and I remember being very confused all those years ago when sometimes when I'd level I'd get a new skill, and sometimes I wouldn't. But it's an awesome class, and I have a lot of love for it. For the longest time, it was the only class I used. I might just go back and do some quests in it for old time's sake.

i have played all of them, and my personal fav is the mage. i have to agree with gin in that it was confusing to level up and get a skill or not.

I've played with all three, and really the only thing I like about Mage over the other two, is that HUGE burst damage after you use that one combo. Power-Lightning-Ice-Fire I think it was. I haven't really used it in a while though.

The mage may have a cool multi with no cool down, but with the combo of Stun Final and...Blast what was that one on the end I press 99% of the time???? Maybe if it is a boss throw in the one dirctly to the left of the normal? But I mean really by far for offense my choice is the warrior, assuming you dont have mana stealing gnomes to fight :P.

I agree with other posters in the thread in that the base classes are some of the strongest classes in the game, especially Warrior. Not necessarily a bad thing, either.

Other than maybe requiring a possible art upgrade (which isn't necessary), not much else to say.

I do not know about that evangel, simply because I suspect if you have a DA (In other words free extra cash) then I think that the DoomKnight or Necromancer may be the top, I do not know for sure, but.....OH wait "Some of" yeah they are no doubt, lol. OH, the main reason I am posting this post, ART UPGRADE YES, like the armor I was wearing in this weeks upgrade, loved it for the warrior.

I've only played as a Base Warrior, but I enjoyed it a lot. I played as one for all of book 1 and almost all of book 2. It's a really great start class.

@ZombiesCoool: Power is the one you're forgetting.

Honestly, I'm not certain whether the Mage has an advantage over Warrior with its no-cooldown Multi or not. It would take some testing to figure out.

For the most part my strategy of "Multi + Double (on enemy with the least HP remaining after Multi) + Triple (on the enemy with the most HP after Multi) + Multi"
seems to work well enough and is more defensive since every enemy you kill lessens the overall damage you take each turn.

The Mage might hit all three every turn, but it is also getting hit by all three every turn.

Depends on the level and how high is your critical most multi enemis have in their ranks enemies that can be killed in 1 turn with a critical.

I've only really used Warrior of the three base classes, its never let me down yet! Very reliable class! Art upgrade would be a bit nice xD

Mage has an indefinite Multi that is superior to Warrior's; and even more so with the added effects from Sleep, Lightning and Power Boost, all of which lasts 13 turns to 7 for its offensive counterpart.

The Base Classes revamp that made them to be similar to the base classes at Dragonspire actually made me disappointed.

In my opinion, I dislike the standing/in-battle poses. They don't make me feel as if I'm playing as a warrior. Out of all the revamps base class is first on my list of revamps I hate with the Bugged Dragon Lord Revamp following as second place.

Perhaps make base classes have more original animations than the ones from Dragonspire at least?

Then again, this is my opinion.

I have used all the Base Classes quite a bit. I like them all, but Rogue definitely is the best for me. Decent defense and still able to deal lots of damage in a short amount of time. Not to mention that you can use it the take potions from enemies! The Cryptic class certainly puts this to it's full potential with a 50% chance to steal potions along with a short cool down time. The major draw back I see to Rogue is that once you use up all your major skills, it's going to take a while to get them back. It's one of those classes where you either play it safe all the time, or kill everything right away. If you fail to do either, you are in trouble.

My next favorite would be Warrior. I like to play as a brute so this class is always fun for me. However, my primary character is built up for a hybrid set the focuses a lot on being able to use a lot of skills. AKA mana. This means that when I use Warrior, I have a lot of skill points that are being wasted due to Warrior not requiring much mana. But for Mage and Rogue, it's a different story.

Mage, by process of elimination, is my least favorite Base Class. I don't exactly dislike the class however. Just not as much. I find it's defense to be just somewhat lacking, and it's true offensive potential takes a long combo that still doesn't seem to compete with Warrior's basic "click-click-click-final" combo. Not to mention that one useless skill that gives you back about 20 mana. I will say one thing though, I find this class to be very amusing. I love the animations, I love the looks, and it's overall fun to use. I remember putting myself in challenges with this class like trying to fight extreme hard mode bosses without even getting hit. In most cases, I beat the challenge without much effort at all!

I'm not sure about this, but I think I remember hearing a while back that the base classes were going to get remaster? did I image that? even if i did it would be pretty cool since necro, death knight and paladin (ranger too i think) have been remastered already.

Well, Ash was planning on making the Dragon Base classes (accessible from Book One Dragonsgrasp) Tier 2 classes, giving them their own upgraded skillsets of the base classes, like the Atelan classes are right now. However, he's not going to return for the forseeable future, and other classes (Archivist for sure, probably GPS, maybe CW and FW?) are taking priority for Verly at the moment.

But yeah, every storyline class has been revamped. The only ones not revamped are the Tier 3 DC armors, which are already strong enough (besides GPS) and the Dragon Base classes.

♦ Welp, i play as a Warrior, and i love it. Final Blow always save me (And give a potion) in hard fights. 'Course, the animations can get boring, but the skills are great! Double and triple are pretty usefull in lots of boss-es with defense skill.

My favorite out of the three is without question, the Rogue class. While it's the worst class when it comes to offense, it's versatility makes playing this class so much fun. And the art revamp of the female Rogue is really lovely.

Warrior is my second choice, I love it when I empower my 'triple attack' with the boost from 'defensive stance'. But this class does have a pretty poor defensive capability.

And then there is Mage, playing this class is annoying because some of its skill is element-locked and I'm not very fond of its attack animation nor its running animation(those robe is just not meant for running)

Roleplay wise I prefer the rogue, but I think it's inferior to the warrior offensively. I kinda hate magic so I never tried the mage. I tried replaying the game as a rogue and it's nice but it's sooo much easier to use my original warrior

The difference is small in damage between rogue and warrior but the difference in defense is huge in favor of the rogue.

Other than mage's attack being elemental-locked and kinda boring animation (the Town Defender mobs have better magic animation than the class :P)
    I'm fine with it.

    Never tried rogue much
