Massacre cannot be viable and not be OP or close to it. I mean just compare it to supercharge and surgical strike.

Surgical strike reduces the target's rage by 50% and grants a 30% lifesteal-damage improves with tech
Supercharge ignores 30% of the targets resistance and grants a 30% lifesteal-damage improves with tech

I can see both of these skills being viable at lvl 1 or lvl 10, with a focus build or not. I cannot say the same for the fool with massacre.
This is how massacre stacks up

Grants 20% lifesteal- That's it, oh I forgot that it "improves" tech
Surely that can't be it? Well the skill grants "x% more damage" but the damage increased is based on your primaries damage.
Focus builds won't get much from having massacre at lvl 1 or at any lvl. There isn't that extra something that makes it useful.

So to make it worth using ,you would have to go all out and make a strength/support build which by themselves are strong enough.
But this is what needs to be done since the skill takes a big chunk of your energy and only grants 20% lifesteal while you being a glass cannon means you take a fair amount damage in return.

You're gonna have to hit hard and keep on hitting while your opponent reacts to your attacks until you can pull off that massacre. There's no way this can't be OP and still be
a legitimate strat.

We need a new special for the hunters and one that doesn't give "x% more damage" but something like the one mercenaries have or the tech mages.
And actually have it improve with tech so that it can be of use for the focus builds.

Mass is supposed to be a strength based skill so I think it should stay the same
In that regard, just give more benefit at lower levels enough for focus and less at higher.

What is enough of a benefit so that massacre will be decent for a focus build to get something out of it?
Compare a mercenary and a bounty hunter, both focus 5. Also assume their resistance and defenses are the same or roughly the same.

The bounty hunter and mercenary both have a modest 115 technology, massacre at lvl 2 will give an extra 63% more damage which would put
its potential damage output somewhere between the range of 668-679. Meanwhile, the mercenaries' surgical strike at lvl 1 has a damage output
of 700.

The mercenary has the bounty beat in damage output and has a higher health regain than the bounty while also perhaps being able to reduce the bounty hunter's rage.
The mercenary would gain 210 health and the bounty would gain 135. The bounty would need a damage potential of 1050 to get back the same amount of health as the merc.

So I am not sure what would be enough benefit so that a focus build can get something out of it since to even get back the same amount health would mean
being able to dish out huge damage. We should just remove massacre and get a new skill that doesn't need constant nerfing only to have it weaken focus builds and not the actual problem (strenght/support mass builds).

BH has smoke and poison, the ultimate doesn’t need to be ridiculous.
We’re trying to create diversity, if the game has all the ultimates doing the same thing in a few updates, I’ll be angry.

What about CH? The only good skill that does decent damage as a focus build is stun grenade (not a ton of damage since that's the trade-off for a chance to stun) and that's it.

The malf is weak compared to bounties smokecreen, poison can be healed off and
you can't really punished the opponent quick enough to make the early heal not worth it. Also I don't believe any CH even uses poison as a focus build, SA would be a better investment.

And the special would be something you might use in the end game when it's clear one of you is going to die and it's just a matter of who dies first.
You can't really just use massacre whenever you so please because the health regain is wack and the damage is going to be weaker than stun grenade's.

Even you buff massacre to be on par with surgical, it would still be the inferior ultimate. 10% less health regain and doesn't reduce opponent's rage.
Supercharge ignores 30% resistance so you get even more health back.

Massacre is really only good for a stat spamming build.

Buff plasma grenade, buff EMP grenade,
A CH focus will use poison, as well as shadow arts, as well as malf and static charge. If EMP gets the proper rebuff, then you’ll see CH be decent again. It doesn’t necessarily need mass to be broken.
Take a look at how broken tech CH was before the updates, no mass required.

The only way you can call mass good with a stat spam is if you call 1400 hp and 1k energy stat spam. Because 50 str, base dex, 42 tech, and 60 support isn’t spamming.

The problem with mass is that it's too good for not stat spamming, not the other way around. Mass scales with tech, and most CH have like... 37+14 tech?
