For beastmaster mage, you can try 1 of the following builds:

  • 250 INT/250 DEX/250 CHA: Standard pure beastmaster mage that focuses on maxing your main stats.
  • 250 INT/250 DEX/150 CHA/100 Luck: Sacrifices some pet damage/accuracy in order to always go first against 0 luck enemies along with a bit of extra amount of extra dodge/accuracy/damage. Unnecessary imo as this can be achieved using Ambush Potion/Whispering Raiment.
  • 250 INT/250 DEX/135 CHA/115 Luck: Same as above, but sacrifices a little more pet damage for the ability to always go first against 225 luck enemies if you use Whispering Raiment + Ambush Potion (which is typically the max you will see). In general, this is beneficial as it allows you to activate your misc. before taking a hit. There are certain enemies that are significantly more difficult if you go second (e.g. Starslayer).

There are also some builds that sacrifices DEX for some luck in order to keep a high CHA. However, I personally think that Dex is the second most important stat for a beast master as it affects both pet accuracy and your own accuracy/defense.

I'm not too sure about which Martial Artist branch is the best. However, it's generally not very useful in the late game.

You might need some depending on where else you can find wiggle room for guests. Weres and Vamps get a built in guest that loses a bit in damage in exchange for utility, there are several items that you can grab that allow for guests to be summonable (Paladin's Oath and Gemini Pendant for example), and there are even some weapons that allow for a guest to be summoned with them(Nightbane Clawstaff lets you summon an Earth guest that has a damage/HP drain toggle). There's enough variety that you should be able to find something that fits your tastes.

There are a number of guests you can get from spells/miscs/weapons, though it may be difficult to fit 1 in for each element. You can use compression guests to help with this in exchange for having a slightly weaker guest.

Below is a list that I think are possible candidates for best in slot that I can think of from the top of my head (if not BiS, then with a strong unique property/compression that gives it merits to use ovee the BiS):

    Weapon:
Fire: Mega Pzycho Sabre, Solar Flair Staff (Fire/Light, Healing Guest)
Earth: Nightbane Clawstaff (Earth, Earth/Healing Guest)
Light: Zardwart Wand, Solar Flair Staff (Fire/Light, Healing Guest)

    Spells:
Fire: Shogun and Ansatsu Contract (Fire/Wind, Package Item)
    Ice: Call Nezujimbo
Water: Summon Gaiden (Water/Heal), Call Fruitcakezard (Rare), Call Maple Beaver (Water/Earth), Call Chupacabara (Darkness/Water, Rare), Call Luna-Style Katshiro (Darkness/Water), Call Mana Bat (RGGB)
    Energy: Call Zorbot (Energy/Darkness)
Wind: Shogun and Ansatsu Contract (Fire/Wind, Package item)
Earth: Call Twilly (Earth/Heal), Call Maple Beaver (Water/Earth), Call Sol-Style Katshiro (Earth/Light)
Light: Summon/Call Mogsterior (URGBB), Call Sol-Style Katshiro (Earth/Light), Call Guardian Angel Elder (Temporary)
Darkness: Summon/Call Grimlord (RGGB), Ninja Lawyer Contract (Seasonal Rare), Call Chupacabara (Darkness/Water, Rare), Call Luna-Style Katshiro (Darkness/Water), Call Zorbot (Energy/Darkness)
    Harm: Summon Memet
General: Summon Poelala (URGGB), Summon Essence of Carnage

    Misc.:
Fire: Grakama Harbinger, Infernal Djinn Lamp (Fire/Darkness)
Energy: Taladosian Tart (seasonal rare), Friendship Bracelet (Earth/Wind/Energy, not sure if still obtainable)
Earth: Gemini Pendant (Earth/Wind), Friendship Bracelet (Earth/Wind/Energy)
Wind: Gemini Pendant (Earth/Wind), Friendship Bracelet (Earth/Wind/Energy)
    Light: Spirit Stone, Paladin's Oath
    Darkness: Infernal Djinn Lamp (Fire/Darkness)

If you are missing a specific element and have an extra spell slot, you can always just use the summon/call zard for that specific element.
