With the Frostgale set released, it seemed like the devs were hinting at possibly making a new map page opening up a northern section (although, I may have read too much into it). This made me wonder about other map pages; in particular, the 'travel south'. Unless I am incorrect, this was the first page opening up the world beyond the main map page. It was an exciting time as it created new areas that could expand exploration and lore. The dev team had a lot of ideas for this area but, sadly, it didn't pan out in many ways and, with the only relevant quests today being Alnaphar and Varrinsqu Keep, it seems to be the most abandoned map page.
I'm not at all saying that this is something immensely important. The wish list thread shows many other more pressing things to revamp and implement and the dev team already has a long list of things they want to do. However, I can't help but wonder what things could be done to revive that area. It is sparse with quests yet still has several locations on the map that have yet to get any lore attached to it and those that do barely were developed (looking at you Gatta and Dragonclaw Island). It would be fun to see what the dev team could/will do with this area. With the New Year wish list going strong, is there anything in this map page that you would like to develop or ideas that you think would implement?
