Leaving the Nest
Hey there, heroes!

The finale of The Nest story has arrived! Last time, when you visited the Rose orphanage, The Nest, you helped Messimy, Grace, and Cole prepare the orphanage for the attack of the elementally imbued Siofra!

Now, it's time to see if those preparations are enough... Or will Siofra destroy the orphanage in his rampage?

Head over to The Nest from the Book 3 travel map in the Greenguard region to play!

I'd also like to remind everyone that the daily reward system is not finalized. We have plans to refine it in multiple ways, so please look forward to those changes, coming soon!

Siofra is way too powerful. He always kills me or one of my guests in the first turn.

Maybe tune down Siofra's damage because he deals too much. Barely got by with Ranger. It's probably best to make the current one into an extreme version. Other than that, its nice to see another shapeshifted dragon.

Super excited to see that the finale to the Nest Saga is out, I found the ending shot to be quite a nice wrap-up to this quest chain. Hope this means Dove (and the rest of the team) are doing well and staying safe!

That was one surefire way to end the Nest storyline. I honestly want to cry, however.
Messimy was such a sweetheart and her dragon form design was pleasing to look at. I hope we're able to purchase some type of carving or statue for DCs to put in our homes.
On a side note, Siofra hits like a truck. Thankfully, CW can let you tank a few hits if you have the soulthreads to spend on Soul Aegis

Spoilers, I have some questions:

spoiler:

1. Is she a special dragon? She looks different from other dragons we have seen
2. She cared about the children a lot so why leave? Cole didn't give her away to the Rose so no reason she couldn't stay.

He always uses his strongest attack on the first turn and then won't use it again for another seven turns, so it's a good idea to shield immediately.

Woooooah! Awesome cutscenes... and nice use of AQW's Chaos Finale music.

Also... the rose keeping him "imprisoned"? Hah... Can't wait for them to end up trying to use him for their plans later!

I'm sorry but did Siofra just pull a "Nothing, personal kid" teleport because I'm pretty sure he just that's what happened

The squeal our dragon made hurts though man

I assume that Messimy was a darkness dragon considering that although we didn't see her breathe any elements the general purple and black aesthetic of both her body and her magically enhanced wings usually tend to be affiliated with those attuned to the plane of Darkness but not Doom/Shadowscythe, heck even Drakath's pure darkness dragon form had the same color aesthetic. For a moment, I suspected that she might have been the Great Darkness Dragon in hiding but they don't have the same names (though perhaps maybe she's their daughter) and if I'm not mistaken most of the Great Dragons are inactive, someone correct me if I'm wrong though I feel like what I just about that last part was inaccurate.

Other than Great Dragon possibilities maybe she was bonded with an unknown dragon rider? She mentioned before that our telepathy with our Dragon was only possible between humans and dragons that share a relatively strong bond, I suppose it's possible that many dragons might know this already, but if the former scenario is true I wonder who was the human she was paired with and what happened to them? Beyond of course the simple obvious explanation.

Perhaps she didn't trust Cole enough not to rat her out? Gram believed he would have, and she knew Messimy longer than him, and up until he says he wouldn't there's not much reason to suspect he wouldn't have told on her. Or maybe the Dragon's bane did something to her and I'm starting to wonder if maybe if it can force shape-shifting dragons to stay in their original forms.

What I find funny in all of this is that Siofra and Theano are now both in Rose prison considering they were a duo in the Inn at the Edge of Time.

Very nice ending to the Nest questline! Very well animated, similarily to Thorns saga's ending.

spoiler:

I liked Messimy a lot and I'm glad she is not completely gone. But I do wonder if the Dragonbane did something to her shapeshifting abilities. I hope we will see her again, maybe in Dove's quests?

A bittersweet ending to a nice little questline. Siofra didn't give me too much trouble, although I was fighting with my Dragon and his 200 protection was certainly helpful.

Her model is nearly the same as Trigoras' but that's where the similarities end, I believe. What her story is, and why she would join the Rose is anyone's guess though. And Grace still may or may not be Grams. Ah well. If she is Grams, at least she's happy and healthy!

spoiler:

That was surprising about Messimy. It seems that Book 3 has an extensive story other than the Rose saga. Maybe unravelling the mysteries of special dragons like Messimy and Dove? So far, these type of dragons are showing gradually and maybe in the future, they will play a vital role with the Hero. The story of Dragons are still vague and it still also a question why the land of Fables despise the Dragons. Special dragons like Messimy could be related in this way - just my theory

@Kurtz, Messimy pretty much had to flee the Nest because the Rose members who showed up specified that they noticed an explosion in its direction. If she stayed, she'd have to explain what the explosion was, which, while she could easily say it was just Siofra, there's no guarantee that any orphan that may have witnessed the battle would keep it quiet, since they're just children who don't know any better. Also, as was mentioned earlier in the thread, she didn't trust Cole enough to keep it in either. It's easier for her to leave and not have to deal with the fear of being turned in every day even if it means abandoning the orphans. Especially so if she is the Great Dragon of Darkness, cause if she gets imprisoned that'd put the entire plane in peril.

Siofra is a tough cookie, I admittedly don't put much stock into optimizing my build but even if I can dodge his first attack he usually just kills my party then reliably takes me down in three turns. I guess I got too used to stun-locking enemies as the Technomancer, maybe I'll try a different class.

Friendly!

Has anybody found a "best way" to take down Siofra? I've tried Chaosweaver, Deathknight, Dragonlord, and Necromancer, yet still I can't manage to take him down. That massive All resist is killer. It really takes out most offense-based classes. I'd love some suggestions.

As TFS said, shield on your first turn. Use your Dragon's shield if it doesn't recharge before he does his nuke again. His All resistance goes down over time, so as long as you have sufficient health to survive his normal attacks, you should be good.

I'm surprised most people are having trouble with Siofra. I've beaten him twice with Master Soulweaver and Technomancer. Granted I am level 90 and on my first go it was a very close match with Master Soulweaver.

Meh, wasn't really that impressive.

Nest Siofra could replace Inn Siofra, in the same manner that Thorn Theano could replace Inn Theano.

I've been having trouble with final siofra. What strategies worked for mages? Is it better to go with guests or not and which ones? help will be appreciated.

As people suggested this thread, I recommend you shield for the first turn as Siofra won't use that attack for his seven turns. I recommend using Techno as it has a -50 All skill as Siofra's All decreases per every 1% of his maximum HP and that Techno's damage increases depending how much of your MP have been depleted. Your dragon (assuming that you have like 200+ points) can also help you by shielding you and getting some damage in as well.
