The donation system is something we know very little about, and the staff will not release more information about it. Nevertheless, it is almost certainly random, so the only reasons you have not received any donation rewards recently are A: people have not donated in the past few days or B: you have not been lucky enough to receive Z-tokens from those donations. If it is A, then this could be because people have gone through their stockpiles already. As this is their money, they are under no obligation to spend more to donate to others, and others can only be grateful that some are willing to spend so much to give to others. It it is B, then it was only a matter of luck, and you can only hope for good RNG. Regardless, the Z-tokens you receive are from other players, so farming has nothing to do with it. There is no reason to expect that you should get even 100 Z-tokens daily let alone your higher numbers.
As for the group chat: unless certain players have found a way to control the backend on the game, which I doubt they would share in such a public group chat as this constitutes cheating of the highest order, there is no way to gift Z-tokens to other players. The donation system does not allow such a thing, which is simple enough to check if one donates a token amount of Z-tokens. I find it more likely that people donated a lot of Z-tokens, got lucky enough to send it to one of their friends, and decided to post about it to celebrate.
