I return with yet another question about an unusual build set-up: Rider-type armors. I'm referring to armors like Grenwog Rider or Paladin Rider. Going with this approach, does anyone have an idea of what armors I should keep an eye out for or weapons that would synergize with them?

There are a few Rider Lances that give a boost if you're wearing a Rider armor. Besides that, there is the Thunderjoust set from a while ago that syngergizes with that but nothing else comes to mind.

Unfortunately this archetype is currently pretty P2W, and most of the best stuff are in Rares (seasonal and perma-rare), Special Offers (Z-token packages and perma-rare donation events), or are Z-token or Guardian exclusive or both. A fair bit of them are also temporary armors that are mutually exclusive (you can only pick one).

Off the top of my mind, Guardians have access to a slew of mount armors in the Guardian tower. They scale with your level, and they will be replace your no-drop temporarily so you can only pick one. The Horse Riding Armor is earth, Unicorn Rider is light, Pegasid Rider is wind, Nightmare Rider and Black Dragon Rider are both dark.

The Mansion and Mansion Estate Houses in Deren, Darkovia, and Forest all give you access to 2 mount armors, one ground/light, other darkness. These also scale with your level and replace no-drop temporarily just like the Guardian tower ones.

GGB is obviously a good place for something this niche, as you already know. The Hydrocampus riders (energy version currently available in GGB UR) give extra initiative if equipped on entering a battle (similar to assassin class bonus), with the level 150 giving +105 initiative.

Torontosaurus Rex Rider is CURRENTLY available in LTS for GOLD and is a very solid armor with a fire skill.

Nocturnal Knight Rider is available in Yulgar's Inn and Frogzard Rider Armor is available in the Zard shop, both for gold and not rare. These are probably some of the easiest to access F2P options.

The $50 Z-token packages (gives 20,000 Z-tokens) contain a couple of mount armors and future mount armors will likely be the same tier. Dragonrider Mount, Graverider Mount, Griffin Rider Mount (earth, dark, wind) are currently available.

If you haven't already, checkout Armors by Element Directory and search for "Rider" to round out your kit of mount armors. The list is several years old, but honestly not many mount armors have been released outside of GGB and special promotions since then. A fair bit of the older armors are either rare or Z-token too. Notable mount to look out for is Reign Dragon, which is a very solid defensive mount armor that appears around Frostvale (Christmas) every year.

Other things to look out for are Weapons with of the "lance" archetype. Not all weapons with lance in their name will have this, but many of the newer lances have an added bonus (usually to damage) if you are fighting in a mount armor. Current notable lances are the Radiant, Zealous, and Serene (light, fire, water) Cavalier Lances in GGB Rares.

BTW I'm sure you know already but you can check if an armor properly counts for "riding" by trying to use it in Joust Training (Guardian Tower > Stables > Talk to Kai).

Good luck and cheers.

Cool, I didn't think the directory was still up to date. I'll have to take a look.

This is actually looks like a pretty fun build. I got bored and made a quick list of non Z token and perma-rares at the moment.

Fire: Torontosaurus (LTS), Crimson Paladin Rider (GGB), DragonRider (DragonRiders!)
Water: With the the Abyssal Hydrocampus being rare, I couldn't find anything for this element slot. Dauflin Rider (Robina's Shop) at level 50, lol. Don't think Vessel Vessel (Innard Space!) counts as a rider armor but maybe someone can fact check me on that.
Wind: Grenwog Rider (GGB), Cyclone Wyvern Rider (Wyvern Rider War!), VelociZard Rider (Dino Island VelociZard Rescue)
Ice: IceWolf Rider (WolfRiders), ReignDragon Rider (December LTS / Frostval Gift Delivery)
Earth: Grenwog Rider (GGB), Frogzard Rider (Frogzard Hunter Part 1), Burro Rider (Fred on Strike!), Fatal Chimeran Vindicator (Chimera Set)
Energy: Champion Paladin Rider (GGB), Voltaic Hydrocampus Rider (GGB), Svadilfari’s Oath (Thunder Mountain)
Light: Paladin Rider (GGB), Radiant Warhorse (Seeking the Seekers)
Dark: DarkWolf Rider (WolfRiders), Nightmare Wyvern Rider (Wyvern Rider War!, has a guardian version at level 50 and 110 but the rest are Z-token)

The temporary armors at the Guardian Tower Stables cover wind, dark, earth, fire, and light.

As far as the theme goes, Knight Armors and Paladin have steed skills.
