Character Link : https://guardian.battleon.com/game/flash/charview?temp=52207948
Level & Status : Level 150 Guardian
Build : Werepyre Hybrid (STR/INT/LUK 250)
Armor of Awe/UltraGuardian Element (If Applicable): Energy
Custom Weapon Not being used. I don't remember last time, I think it was Energy.

  • Element:
  • Accuracy Lean:
  • Special Rate:

Level(s) of Items with Multiple Versions : Most items are Level 150 or highest possible level.
Alignment (Good/Evil or Chaos/Unity) : Neutral
Notes : I don't know how to beat the Paladin LV 20 Boss so I could use those too. I was planning on Werepyre armors, UG Plate, and 3 Paladin Armors (They have a Hybrid option!)
Goals : Sort build now that CIT was changed; proper UG element? Up-to-date on weapons/spells/miscs
Z-Tokens (If Applicable): 300, then 12k in House.

It's been a while since I played, but seeing Paladin made me want to try again. Thank you in advance.

Welcome back!

Regarding the Paladin's Ringleader boss: I would suggest using the Paladin armor + shield from the skill Paladin Armaments. They make it so undead mobs target your Light Resist, so it doesn't matter if it hits with fire or darkness. You'll want to kill a skeleton first (as that removes the Freedom effect from the boss), then kill the second one - that removes Ringleader's extra hp and defences. You'll want to use FD mode (as the Ringleader hits pretty hard), werepyre blade (because paladin has only one Str/Int skill) and weapon-based skills (5, 18 and 20).

Weapons

You'll want to use as many magic weapons as possible. Werepyre passive brings their damage up to Melee standards, but a variety of miscs and effects give larger bonuses to magical weapons. So you'll want to change your no-drop to Staff of Awe, switch the element to Wind (as we have energy Bloodblade/Bloodzerker blades now) and align your Awe special to PWD for a 3% chance of insta-kill.

Blazing Bloodzerker's damage, Kindred's autohit, Horo Show's harm and Midnight Werepyre's stat shift all remain very useful and top of the line.

Earth, light and energy all have Bloodblades/Bloodzerker blades for +25% damage.

Armors

I would suggest switching your no-drop to Insightful armor of awe. You're unlikely to be using the armor all that often, but the qc mana shield can occasionally come in useful.

Shields

UG shield relies on your blocking, so it's a bad fit for a 0 Dex build. I'd suggest switching it for the Awe shield.

Samukematsuri Buckler gives you a little sp each time you're hit.

Celtic Wheel has an Int drive.

Pies has a Cha drive, which gives you a little extra damage via Dunamis/Poelala.

Keep Ironthorn for the Str srive.

Umazen Aspis is a -26 energy shield.

Scarab Shell has a toggle to lower monster MRM, increasing the accuracy of all your attacks.

If you switch your knight class to Emoran, Avenger's Bulwark slowly charges up a free EleShield.

Spells

You'll want a Poelala summons for all your magical weapons and spells.

Sizzler 'Splosion is an autohit earth spell.

Arms of the Dragonguard. Makes your next attack an automatic Lucky Strike. Not qc.

Angry Trobble. Accuracy boost for several turns. Not qc.

Imbues (token). Great synergy with WKZ.

Gandolphin gives you a lot of survivability, especially if cast in Generalist Rones with Imbue toggled.

Pets

At 0 Cha, you'll get more from Poelala and Angra Linnorm than regular pets.

Miscs

Keep Essence Orb.

Rejuvenating Necklace gives mp based on damage dealt.

Keep SFP and get Love Potion (qc control) when Snugglefest comes around.

Windter Crown gives an omni-elemental damage bonus, though Irt of Osiris and Murderator Gauntler are also viable damage boosters due to Str/Int bonuses.

Goggernaut Helm gives +10 bth to every attack on the field, without the usual /2 for spells.

Taladosian Pendant gives +10 mental potence, increasing your chances of inflicting Panic with werepyre or paladin.

AQ 18th Birthday Cupcake gives Daze potency, which has nice synergy with Paladin's only werepyre stat skill.

Hope the info's useful and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Apologies for the late reply, I had classes for the past few weeks. I really appreciate the advice!

I had not known that Magic weapons would give me a better boost now because of the Werepyre thing. That's really great to hear. I have 2 Poelalas (1 Guest, 1 Pet) on my secondary's Mage account so I will transfer those over. I was mulling over buying Pet Dunamis but I also really wanted to buy a LOT of these Token full sets because they look so cool.

So as this Werepyre Hybrid, I act as a Mage (essentially)? I use Generalist Robes and the 4 Werepyre armors; which Paladin armors do you recommend I use? I will also certainly switch to Armor of Awe and Shield of Awe and Staff of Awe. In place of the Bloodzerker blades ( I only have Fire :(), which items should I use? I opened up GGB's and didn't get any Rares or URs yet.

I will also switch my Knight to 'Emoran then. Thanks for the spell suggestions, I had no idea which would be good. And when I finally have a stable paycheck, I suspect I will probably buy all the Imbues and Zfinity Gauntlet (Can't believe I missed it again!).

Thank you for the suggestions again! (especially on the Paladin Boss)'

P.S. AS I say I didn't get any URs, I open 2 free boxes and get 1 rare and 1 Ultrarare. Thank you AE!

Your character has the same stats as my main. I think this build in itself, apart from equipment/gear, is a decent build but I'm not sure if stats would be better off allocated elsewhere. I think both of us need to work on gear/equipment and I think there are guides, or other sources of information here on the forums to help us to have better gear. Here is a link to my character page if you want to compare/contrast https://guardian.battleon.com/game/flash/charview?temp=18311759

There's no dedicated hybrid-stat paladin armor, alas. As such, I'd recommend the Champion Holy Armor, as it has a Str/Int stat drive and a lvl 18 skill that uses Str+Int for stats.

Arcane Troll Club has a Berserk toggle. It's even stronger (damage-wise) than Bloodzerker Blade, but that power comes at the expense of accuracy.

Morningstar Cross (magical version) has a compressed light skill. While it has been nerfed recently, it still does fairly high damage when paired with werepyre's Evolved form and doesn't require any stuns.

Outside of Bloodblades and rares, energy doesn't actually have anything worthwhile. If you can't afford a Blood/zerker blade, you'd want to switch back to energy no-drops, and get Haunted Dragonlord's Might from last week's MC set as a wind weapon. It heals a surprising amount of sp every turn. Also, if you go for energy no-drop, pick up a wind shield from the same set. Qc, stackable Chi Shield has ridiculously good synergy with Purple Rain.

If Angra Linnorm was the pet used, wouldn't Melee weapons be preferred over Magic?
