Frostval is one of AQ's oldest holiday traditions, and a favorite among players, as there are tons of rare and powerful items to collect all month long. Plus, with the ongoing Donation Contest, you could be randomly gifted up to 5000 Z-Tokens or 100 Million Gold just for playing!

Guardian Giftboxes:
Make sure you head over to the Guardian Tower and pick up your giftboxes as we wait to see what's inside at the end of the Frostval Gift Delivery!

Limited-Time Shop:
Also find new and returning Holiday Faces in the Limited-Time Shop to help get you in the festive spirit.

Decorate the Tree

Season of Gifting Contest:
Kibbles and his cousin Tibbles have returned to spread holiday cheer with a new contest. This merry elf duo collects gifts and randomly gives them to your fellow players - meaning you could receive gifts up to 5000 Z-Tokens just for playing during the contest!

This year Tibbles is rewarding charitable players with amazing Nutcracker items.
Not to be outdone, Kibbles has brought his own equally awesome Blightslayer gear.
All GOLD donators will receive the Blightslayer Dirk Misc.

Do players buy everything from the giftboxes or a select few of them? I usually buy the weapon, armour, misc, and pet, but lately the past few Frostvals made me regret not buying the full set and missing out. Also feels like I got lucky on buying the Christmas Deadpool spell because I got curious and it turned out to use SP (not a mage).

Guardian giftboxes are free but you need enough inventory slots to store them.

Some players buy all Guardian giftboxes for year x.

It's generally recommended to get the full set since the items are perma-rares and unique in both artwork and effects, and this all coincides with a Z-token Donation Contest, so you should have the Z-tokens to buy some extra slots if necessary.

@Primate Murder
Isn't that the same as last year? The Chaoswrought and Sunscale weapons were also the top 25 donation rewards.

Judging from how random Cray dropped that, I suspect we'll get a witches-, demon- and/or carnival-themed set after the giftboxes or an upcoming event.

Tapped out on all my lvl150s, we'll see how I do. Would really like that crossbow on my new character!

EDIT : RIP my chances of the weapons. Should definitely have waited a few days to see what to expect.

How does the token count on winter contests compare with the summer contests? If it is the same I will have to sit this one out. Hopefully I don't regret it.

I know the devs don't release the effects of these items beforehand, but could they at least say if these 2 will have unique effects?

Got a couple big gold donations, so thanks! I've strangely had almost the gold cap for a while now, so I'll be donating it and passing along the other donations I get.

I just don't have the specific vault space and items to compete for the top prizes anymore, so good luck to everyone who's going for them!

I believe the winter donation contests have less competition because the items are "less desirable", and there are fewer of them. If you want an idea of what to expect, last year's Sunscale (and Chaoswrought) weapons were indeed unique and had some interesting effects. However, 2018's Snow Angel weapons were clones of Magna Blade I believe, except with the option to switch to magic and ranged and maybe a 0-proc instead of 20-proc (Forgive my poor memory. Hopefully, someone with the weapon may confirm). That is BiS, of course, but some might have wanted something with a unique effect, instead. Make of this what you will.

Is the donation system working correctly? I gave 100m on a character and it looks like it donated (the gold went from 156m to 56m), a few minutes later I got 100m donation on the character but my gold remained at 56m. Checking with an account at the gold cap it definitely removed the gold when I donated, I'll wait and see if I get a donation and see what happens.

You actually get the gold when you log in, but only get the notification after the first battle.

Most likely, the 100m that you donated were the ones that you got.

So if you get it while logged out it's immediately there, and if you get it while logged in it shows up after the next battle? That would explain why my other character just got a donation that seemed to work as normal. Thanks, I didn't realize it.

I am not sure where to put this, but there is a Game Engine Update. Monster SP Bar does not seem to glow as they did previously, I'm not sure if that is intentional.

Does anyone know what the "Player SP is now affected by your healing modifier." does exactly?

It probably means that any changes made to your (hidden) Heal resist percentage, will affect SP healing now, too.

Just like different percentages in any other element affects how much damage you take.

That sounds like a major change!

How many items are there that affect the healing percentage though? I can only think of Yasakani Jewel.

So, looks like the Thunder Lord weapons are in the Tree shop, wonder if we'll see the rest of the set again at some point or if the rest will remain rare.

Also, I can see no way that the last part could at be considered ominous...
