Don't returning sets like Hollowborn usually have different elements? Energy/Dark were last year's elements.

A couple of questions, and thoughts:

1. Although I posted the subs of the originals, I'm not sure if this will be a clone of the originals, or if we'll get whole new effects. Perhaps the staff can give us a hint here.

2. Going forward, if we get more Hollowborns, are we going to get other variant re-skins or will we get THIS set? IE, will next year give us THIS Hollowborn set, or will we get yet another variant?

3. If we're getting more variants instead of, that is quite worrying as a trend. We could just save a lot of time by not making variants instead of pleasing those very few people who would even care from the start.

4. There are quite a number of sets now available from Ballywhoo. Can we look to get some kind of search option for package shops? The current interface is a little clunky. When you're in a specific Category menu, like for instance Armors, you can go forward, but if you want to go "back" in THAT menu, you have to click more to get you back around to the previous selection. The real "Back" Button takes you out of the flow. There should be a "Main Menu" button that does that instead, and the "Back" button that actually take you back in THAT flow. Not a priority now, but for next year this should be explored as a QoL fix. A search-like menu would also be great too. For things like Doomlight and newer packages which are always added to the back you have to go through quite a lot of menus just to get to the shop.

5. Loving the new events menu. It looks like from the design that we see, that we should be able to fit more than 4 events at a time. Perhaps now would also be the time to think about making the Void F2P for everyone (since we can already access it so frequently from the Events Menu). But that can wait for next year too. Certainly would make things MUCH easier for newer players and/or returning F2P's or just existing players making new accounts.

Yes the Z-Token Sale and bonus are both live!

The Chaos Hollowborn are not clones of the previous Hollowborn sets. They may share some similarities being Hollowborn-based sets. You might notice some nice changes to the event page from resident graphics wizard Adama1a! He has been working on our release graphics for over a year now and I really appreciate his keen eye for details!

Great suggestion on the Ballyhoo area! I know that can get a little tough to navigate after so many years, and honestly the entire Ballyhoo shop area needs to be rebuilt. I will add this to our QoL list.

Think the ones last year had a status effect like flavor and were sort of mage-ish with the attack pattern. Wonder if we're getting a more Warrior focused design this time with those heavy looking swords.

If so, I'm very down.

Thanks for the responses Hollow. It's great to know these things ahead of time. Kudos to Adama1a for his release graphics. I actually though that you (Hollow) did those but now I know to give credit where it's due.

Now that I know these won't be clones of the originals, I'm definitely more interested in seeing what these sets do.

I got 3 URs in my first 10 boxes, followed by 0 URs in my next 150 boxes.

Look, I get that getting back-to-back URs is great, but I'd honestly much rather pay a flat fee for URs. Seriously.
I know this is probably gonna fall on dear ears since I believe it's been suggested before, but having the option to flat out buy w.e you want would be so much better.

One other thing Hollow - if it's not too difficult, we should get an account sorter for House Items, Player Faces, and Titles. With the current Black Friday sale, people are probably going to buy some houses and items along with some Z-faces that they normally would not get, but there's a lot of items and thus managing them could be well suited for the account manager.

Looks like Hollow posted the DN's, and the info subs are here for the Chaos Hollowborns too. The Account Manager now has both the Chaos Hollowborns AND the original Hollowborns to be purchasable as of this post.

Looks like in a summary, that the Chaos Hollowborns reward you for dodging. You deal damage based on the hits you block, like the Brightslayer Dagger and the recent Titanfall Shield. The items generally support mechanics that make it harder for the opponent to hit you (Blinds, MRM Boost, ect). I'll probably sit on this one for awhile since there's no rush before I make a decision to buy this or not. It's definitely got my interest and I will continue to study it. Maybe someone who wants this set would have more to say or demonstrate.

Now that the set (and pretty much the entirety of this weekly release) has been released, I do wonder what our timeline is going to look like for December. Historically speaking it would be 100% Frostval which means we likely won't get Lost Talon Part 3 and War Between Shadows Epilogue until sometime later. But I can be wrong (and have been wrong in the past) and hope that we'll still get our loose ends for this year wrapped up in timely fashion.

Other thing I want to talk about - these sets are certainly nice, but I do wish that these would be all on a more permanent rotation. As people have already noted there's a dearth of gaps that exist and these rare packages contribute to that mess. I do think we ought to be more prudent about these kinds of things. With a few exceptions, there's very little items in game that support the mechanics that these items have. Locking mechanics behind exclusivity gates is very problematic.

Really good ideas with these and some of my favorites of the packages. Plus the designs are awesome.

The summer event has concluded. There isn't a pending epilogue, although the ongoing Lost Talon set quests double is a side story to it, as the quest hub says.

As with all recent sagas, War Between Shadows was itself a thread closer. Specifically, it had the scope of concluding Erebus's arc and resolving conflicts directly pertaining to the character. Other related story threads that had been tangled into Erebus's story during Hall of Monuments and adjacent plots will be concluded in their own releases, rather than abridged into smaller features of another saga.

In short, the saga itself was the loose end closer, rather than saving its resolution for an epilogue. It also served to further the setup of future conclusions.

Interesting that this year's token package is a kiting-themed build! It's been nice seeing offensive dodge builds getting love lately, even if it doesn't particularly fit with any of my current characters.

So if you're looking for budget House Guards, a subtle reminder that as of today (26 Nov 2021 server time) you can get the Shadow:

Roc - 740 Tokens
Minotaur - 735 Tokens
Naga Baba Yaga - 730 Tokens
Hydra - 725 Tokens

Or 2900 Tokens for the Quartet.

On Tuesday server time (30 Nov 2021), Gauntlet 2 will be enabled. I ought to suspect that Guantlet's rewards too will get the 50% Discount.

Also worth noting in this same post that several other already discounted items, like:

White Knight Z
Terror Set
Peta Dragon Buster

Aren't eligible for the discount. I don't have the comprehensive list but someone ought to have it somewhere.

The discounted items are actually further discounted. The Terror Set items and Peta Dragon Buster all cost 1,485 Z-tokens, 1/4 the normal price of an MC'd level 143 Z-token item.

@Robyn Joanne: Checking again, it looks like you're right that those items get a discount from the discount. However it does seem there are still certain items that don't qualify like WKZ. So in that vein Kaizoku, it (WKZ) usually is 2080 tokens.

I actually wish you didn't do that. The "gone forever" thing is extremely harmful for the health of the game long term. The capitulation was far too quick, and only emboldens those peoples to gatekeep more when at this stage and time, it is the last thing anyone needs or wants. To be honest, I'm not sure how much this even matters until someone brings it up. If nobody mentioned it that it was gone forever, nobody would really have had a problem with it coming back. And not to mention all the people who just got the set by taking advantage of this oversight, versus the people who didn't. Now what?

Yeah I asked that question myself just out of wonder myself on discord, and yeah the general feeling on the set is best to look at other options. For a water doge armor you might be better of waiting for the Hare Magician from Grenwog, and Shadowfall to cover Dark for a few non package alternatives. Granted I don't focus on dodge myself so others likely have better insight there, but the Protector pets aren't terrible if you want to just have them for their flavor of damage vulnerability given their gold cost.

Kind of thinking about picking up the darkness hollowborn, as some of the effects align quite nicely with my current blocking build strat I been using the past 2 weeks, as even the shield and weapon seem to be very good even without the armor. And I wonder if it would be a good idea to spend 40-50k tokens on GGB at half price and build up 400-500 for later..... Edit 1-> Just realized they're preventing this. Must buy and use the ones you already have. LUNACY!

I tend to think using them on GGB for great new GGB items tends to be way better than straight token items anyway. HRM..... decisions..decisions...

It looks like the Hollowborn armor works just like the Titan's Fall shield. And it seems as though the FSB even though it enhances the dodgelash amount, it would still be weaker (plus no additional HP cost) than just using Titan's Fall with the armor.

Anyone get the new Hollowborn yet and how are you liking it?

Edit 2- Went ahead and grabbed it.

Is the dodge based elemental empowerment on the new Hollowborn bugged?

The info subs says-> +(<Blocks> x 1.01 x 2.5 / 0.15)% empowerment.

2*1.01*2.5/empowerment should give 33.6% no? In-game it's showing 1.062. So literally only 6.2% boost for 2 blocked hits. There must be something off with the "0.15" part, like it's doing 1.5 or im not sure, OR the info subs is wrong . But it seems as though the .15 comes from the 85% assumed hit rate, which the .15 is the assumed block rate. But IDK. Something's wrong though
