Mimic Pet Pet Appearance: Dark wood chest with gold trim and a round gold lock on the front. One hit of water / darkness magic / ranged damage (50/50 chance for element and type) scaled as normal for item level and elemental affinity. Example: If the elements used were fire an ice the damage would be higher - water and dark are close on the elemental wheel so damage is pretty average. Attack Appearance: Chest opens slightly and spits at the enemy. Projectile is dark blue and a water splash like shape. Inside of the chest is black and undetailed (only shown for a few frames of animation so not worth detailing). Special effect: Can elemental seek between the 8 standard elements for an additional cost. Click on the pet and it changes to have a set of 6 gold spikes coming out of the gold trim (3 left, 3 right - think shoulder armor spikes) of the chest and the round lock changes into an eye (which looks around as an idle animation - looks at the enemy when attacking). Now seeks between the 8 standard elements and after attempting to attack once causes the enemy NPC to give 5% less gold and 5% less exp on defeat - if the pet does not attack then the price is not paid, ditto if the battle is not won (Flee, Defeat, Etc) - the PC is sharing the reward with the mimic so they work harder. Effect is a once per battle reduction of 5% gold and 5% exp, not per turn. Considering the higher then normal cost the elemental seeking penalty might not apply - dealing normal damage instead of reduced damage. Note: PC = Player character, NPC = non player character
