I'm thinking these are darkness bloodmage and zerker armors.

These lack wind and darkness, and I'm thinking since they're "cursed" as the description says, let's go with darkness.

@above: They are the Earth Bloodmage and Light Bloodzerker. They are shown in the newsletter image.

Color me surprised here, I thought we wouldn't be getting any more Bloodzerkers or Bloodmages.

Weird that we're actually at a point where a light-element Bloodzerker isn't that much more powerful than what's already available in Paladin, but I must say the Earth bloodmage has been sorely needed for a while. (I'm still hoping for something slightly more interesting in Earth for Beastmages like myself, but I'll definitely be picking up Terra Bloodmage.)

Earth Bloodmage but not earth BoW. R.I.P. Earth was needed a lot more than light.

+1 to this idea. I too would like to get a Earth Arcane Cutlass as it will be paired well with Earth Bloodmage

Hopefully they'll add the wind/darkness bloodmage as well

I missed the OG Bard of War when it released since I was on my AQ hiatus, but I've played around with the Retro BoW and it's really powerful. If I had a way to more reliably compress water and light guests without using spell slots, it'd be my go-to armor for use with the Sugar Gobbler and petrify shenanigans, despite my beastmage otherwise being a Fully-Offensive character. (Until we get a dual water/light guest I'll probably just stick with the Wind Necromancer Cavalry as my wind slot armor.)

My only complaint is that it's a bit harder on the eyes than the original BoW and doesn't quite fit my character's goth mage aesthetic, but eh, what can you do.

Big question - Is the Black Friday sale ending when the clock hits the 8th, or is it ending on 11:59pm, the 8th? Something tells me it's the former but some clarification would be nice.

    @Broccoli

Like the idea. Not enough pet/guest damage boosters. I would also love more miscs that do that, as well as miscs that add status inflictions, amongst other ideas for pets/guests.

I'm excited to see the story of this year's quest and I'm excited to see how much of a threat the rat queen is.

I hope BoW stays like the zerkers and bloodmages

Depending on how it works, we only have a few hours of Black Friday left (4 hours as of this post). I got around to earning the last of the free tokens I could before resorting to have to buying tokens to finish up my estates, and this might help for next year when/if people do use it to build out estates. And here I thought of some things:

    1. If you're going to place items, you should generally place the highest yielding items first. IE Corn Field, Deren/Skycastle Wheat, Deren/Skycastle Windmill. It's the most efficient way to use your initial plot space, and you can always trade Food/Energy for Wood/Stone later on so this ought to be considered universal gain.

    2. If you're going to buy estate items, you should probably start with buying the most expensive items because those have the most absolute saved amount. Being able to buy Beanstalk/Cave/Eatery at half price reduces the cost each by 2000, or 6000 total. On the other hand something like Vegetable Garden only saves you 150 tokens, or 450 total. If you're on a budget but but you do earn tokens, it might be worth only buying the most expensive items first and then just farming tokens to buy the rest of the buildings later as they're not going to be that much more expensive in terms of absolute savings.

    3. When first starting your estate, it's actually worth using commons to jumpstart since your resource gain is pretty slow from the start. Doing this will speed up your development by weeks for a very small investment. Suppose you are buying giftboxes at half price during this sale, and you're thinking about building an estate. This is another feature you can use for commons besides conversions.

EDIT: It's Dec 8th Server time, but I'm still seeing discounted prices. Maybe it will extend all through today or it'll get momentarily terminated?

I recently began rebuilding my estate, and your tips is pretty much what I did. I did use some commons to boost my resources a few times. And I just bought 3 storage buildings, the cave, the mega world portal, the two associated paintings during this discount window. I think I lack 1 maybe 2 beanstalk plots . Main plot is all resource gathering, beanstalk is all accessory, such as trade hut, mega world portal, storage, and stat training. Nothing in the cave yet, as I havnt figured out yet if there's even anything I could put. I guess there's more potential plots than items to be placed.

BTW, the museum should be an item upgrader building, as well as a painting appreciation display room. You should move paintings from the house to the museum if you so desired. Idk, just gives the museum some other functionality. But the idea I came up for it is kind of like additional storage for items, where if you stored items there, where over time they get better but you dont have access to them anymore.

Like maybe for an armor, storing an armor in the museum would give it +1% damage per month, and maybe it caps at 10 or 15 or 20? And once you remove it, it has the boost, and if you put it back, the boost goes away. Maybe same for weapons. So it's like permanent storage put on "display" in the museum, and over a long time it gains damage.

Paintings-> Appreciates value for resale like housing, but only if housed in the museum, and you lose access while it's there. It's just "on display"

No. Housing interest caused enough trouble when it started. That alone caused the token economy to enter hyper-inflation. At one point, token weapons would cost over 12k tokens. The price of the Terror set at launch was 40K tokens. Nerfing the housing sellback to 1% per week fixed this immensley. Adding more interest-bearing items will only make things bad again.

Announced via Twitter, the BF sale is indeed extended through today. So we have a little under 13 hours of the sale left as of this post:

I just wished they would communicate these these kinds of things here.

Yes, although it was on Twitter first, and then posted here about 15 minutes later. We generally don’t go looking in the design notes forum for these kinds of things and while they are posted it usually doesn’t get noticed because of where it is. Maybe it is because it’s that time of year but AQ has taken a step back as of recent when it comes to clear communication.

Edit: looks like the Dn was posted after I made my post

I had always assumed that the sale would run through today due to the use of the word until. Must be my retail background.

I also would like to see a Ice Arcane Cutlass. Arctic athame is weaker most of the time because you dont always face mobs with over 0 INT. Cutlasses are more consistent.

I'm also hoping the frigid and jolly BoW armors return for those that missed it last year.

Also hoping BOW armours return seems unfair that zerkers and bloodmages stay and only one BOW armour stays rest could go seasonal rare.

Not just that, but mason forms as well.

EDIT2: Looks like the Part II release is live as well. And I posted this here since this is the right thread.

    Boss Tips:

    spoiler:

    The Rat Queen

    Base Earth Element.

Her Regular attack (Earth Element) will make you more vulnerable to Fire damage, and she can also inflict you with the Wooden Status, which reduces your healing by 50%. Potions are unaffected by this heal resistance, apparently.

Her SP attack is a dual Earth-Fire attack. Make sure you equip a -Fire Res misc or equips because she is capable of bursting you down with her skill if you aren't prepared.

EDIT: The shop is completely empty. Restricted by Character Clan, looks like they are still working on it behind the scenes.
