Goodbye 2021, Helloooo 2022
COMING THIS WEEK!
We wish you an amazing holiday season, THANK YOU for battling alongside us throughout 2021! We hope you'll be here with us as we strive to make 2022 another amazing year in the world of AQ! Let’s say goodbye to 2021 with a huge haul of gear to help ring in the New Year!

Hydrostrike Guardian Dragon Blade

20k Z-Token Package

Take hold of the Hydrostrike Guardian Dragon Blade and wield the legendary might of a Guardian Dragon, one of the most powerful dragons in all of Lore! Click the handle to swap between Melee and Magic damage, or click the blade to transform yourself into an aqueous incarnation of a Guardian Dragon.

One of my biggest wishes for the next year (besides qol) is more non premium non unobtainable water equipment.

I think the New Years weapons were previewed by one of Artix Entertainment's artists on Twitter a few months ago. Weird though that the newsletter doesn't say what they're called.

I am looking forward to the new year's surprise spells, but I wish there either would be seperate versions for pets/guests (preferable) or revamp these to include them. Too many effects that don't affect pets/guests.

Either way it's time to get this spell provided it's re-released.

Question for staff: Why does the misc from this delivery set have nothing to do with Panic when every other piece from it so far does in some capacity do something with that status? It just seems like a misc for an entirely different set at the moment.

Edit:

In terms of design, it's more of a gap filler and an experiment in switching costs than an attempt at something huge. Synergies aside.

Can the boosting of 3 main stats really be considered an important gap filler? We actually have quite a few triple stat boosting miscs and miscs that toggle to boost different stats...
What prevented the misc from having that type of upkeep choice and actually being made to fit into the rest of the set? Just seems like such an odd decision to use a set item for a gap filler that has nothing to do with it instead of just an item that doesn't need to fit into anything else's theme.

Yeah given the other items, it would be nice to have a misc that attempts panic.

As three set items are related to Panic, the assumption that the set is wholly based on the status effect is understandable. However, along with the notion that the misc item doesn't fit with the set, it's erroneous. The armor and shield will tie the image together, though the status and stats involved are a major hint.

@ Cray, unrelated but kind of related..to New Years

I had been wondering, and finally someone asked in the Q&A section.. But we receive items from buying the 2022 Calendar from Heromart. I tend to think knowing what the items do may persuade people to buy the calendar more so than not knowing anything. So I was curious if Artix Entertainment would be so kind and do some marketing of their Heromart content in the form of some info subs ?

...unless I suppose they *don't* want to sell many?

Edit--> Delayed release? Are we looking at closer to the 1st?

A little early to ask, but can we have it so these items return every year (or a confirmation if this is already going to be the policy)? There are at least other New Years and July 4th items (Except the spell, which is really just a clone of last year's) that are there so I do not believe this to be an unreasonable request/confirmation.

Also since there's a lot of items in the shop, it's a little difficult to navigate. Perhaps as another item for the QoL update next year we ought to have an improved shop UI to help navigate it better. Or perhaps we ought to have a special shop just for July 4th / New Years. Either way there's room for improvement there.

And one last suggestion as a design space thing, as I suggested before I actually think all Z-token items by default should just be scaling items. Not only to cut the number of items down but to also to make it them that much more worth purchasing. While there is the argument that buying packages isn't for the item, people will still make a choice between buying packages and buying in-game token items. And as it stands currently more people would prefer buying pavkages because you get items that scale, the item AND the tokens. Versus just the token item where you spend tokens to get an item that may or my not even scale.

An alternative suggestion is that you could leverage the existing upgrade system so that by default only the lowest level item of the series appears and you can just upgrade to the highest level using that. And that would pair well with my other suggestion to give us the account item upgrader/downgrader in-game.

Tiered items share the same file and they use spreadsheets to generate the values, this wouldn't really save time or anything. It's also nice that you can try out an item for less sellback-loss at lower tiers.

I feel like it's been mentioned before that this wouldn't be possible due to limitations.

I *really* would like to see staff release a BeastMaster version of the New Year's Surprise Spells, where the BTh boost is for all pets/guests and has the little scaler using charisma like how they have the Int/MP and Dex/SP versions here. But this would be maybe two versions with charisma scaling but one uses Mp for cost and the other SP for cost, OR, sort of a half/half deal?

IDK what you'd call it..the same? A variation? Maybe just call it New Year's Beast Mode. IDK. Where's the Beast Love?

Can we please replace the scroll bar in Shop/Inventory with the BattleOn News! scroll bar?

It would look better and we could scroll much more easily through our ever growing inventories.

I don't know who made that hammer (100 proc melee) but you're funny. I had a really good laugh reading the info subs.
