When I said unobtainable, I meant if I cannot get it right now without condition then it's still unobtainable. By definition any seasonal and/or rotational content that is only available at that time period and then has to wait for the next time (or buy a portal) it's still unobtainable. When this month (or when it's no longer accessible through the event page) ends Snuggleheart will not be accessible anymore except through the various portals. Otherwise I have to wait and any suggestion that involves items from that event is considered unobtainable until time. Something not in the game for 10-11/12 months of the year shouldn't actually be considered obtainable or even part of the normal game experience. The same is going to be true of Blarney, Grenwog, April Fools, and the other holidays that have yet to happen this year and are coming very soon. Unless these holidays aren't going to happen and/or they're made more accessible. To be clear, I'm not asking for new quests and/or content every time. The thing I care most about at this point is for the AQ team to keep its promises in respects to updates and/or QoL that they themselves have made to us in the past. On the premium releases, I understand a lot of the package items and premium-based updates are meant to keep the lights on. Yet these releases also depend on these items being interesting enough for people to actually buy them (although if there's someone out there that is truly doing something altruistic, I'd like to talk to you!). And the only reason someone would actually be wanting to buy anything is: 1. If it's stronger than the items that already exist. And this is tricky to deal with because it involves potentially playing with power creep. 2. If it offers some sort of utility that doesn't exist or hasn't been seen in awhile because the previous iteration of said utility is no longer available. Which said utility also still has the risk of power creep if it's done badly. 3. If it's going to become unobtainable at some point in the future. As much as the argument has always been about "the tokens, not the items themselves" (which I do accept personally), personal valuation is subjective and a good amount of people (but not all) do end up looking at the items themselves in making a choice to make a transaction or not. The recent Virophage package items were an example of this. From what I saw anyways, few people actually ended up getting the items. And with the fact that we can have the info-subs before buying it, it becomes an even more subjective thing whether to get something or not. Now I understand not every item can nor should be a banger nor can AQ compel people to buy things. Yet it really makes me wonder if this is really the best way to go about securing AQ's future if it's as subjective and fickle as that. On the release schedule, let's take a good look at what we've had this year: (3 unobtainable releases, +4 premiums) 01/03/2022 - The Guardian Giftboxes Open [Unobtainable] 01/10/2022 - January 2022 Golden Giftboxes [Premiums] 01/17/2022 - Update Week [Permanant] 01/24/2022 - Z-Token Package Bonus Trio [Premiums] 01/31/2022 - SnuggleFest 2022 [Seasonal] 02/07/2022 - 2022 Golden Giftbox Cross-Game Extravaganza [Seasonal + Premium] 02/14/2022 - House Guard and Estate Updates [Permanent + Premium] (Technically, this is a premium feature but I'll give you this one) 02/21/2022 - Lost Talon III and Legion Z-Token Packages [Permanent] (I'm going to not count this one because Lost Talon III is the primary part of this release even though Legion doesn't stay around. This should have also been part of 2021 but was delayed) How does this compare to last year up to this point? We've not hit a deep part of the year yet but so far: (5 unobtainable releases, +2 premiums) January: Jan 4: Frostvale 2020 Gift Delivery War [Unobtainable] Jan 11: Booster Guests GGB [Premium] Jan 18: Estates Update [Premium] Jan 25: Frostval Gifting Contest Finale [Unobtainable] Februrary: Feb 1: Snugglefest (No Seasonal Quest) [Seasonal] Feb 8: Giftbox Crossover Extraveganza [Premium + Unobtainable] Feb 15: Snugglefest Last Resort [Seasonal] Feb 22: Devourer Saga Update (Eigerbuld) + Legion Shogun [Permanent] (Legion Shogun wasn't the primary part of this update so I'm not going to score it) I'm only going to count the seasonal content on this one since we're going to accept for the sake of the argument that premium content is (although I disagree) part of the normal playing experience. Even with that there's not really been that much of a difference, and if you count premium + unobtainables, they both come out to roughly 7 though I'm willing to revise or retract this post or paqrts of it this if you think there's been made an unfair measurement or unreasonable assumptions.
