So this is borderline suggestion, but because suggestions IMO are likely buried, I wanted to see if I could garner some discussion.

Warriors and the upcoming Ranger have, IMO, struggled with what to use with their Spell Slots. They typically nowadays have been more and more filled with buffs...ie quick casts.

So , while I do not know if there is a standard in place that governs them, I am partially making a suggestion for making them akin to "Miscs in the spell slot" (Miscs are probably my favorite item type)

This could provide for Misc standards to govern these, and thus the creation of quick casts could then become like having 2 miscs out. Since SP is build agnostic for the most part, SP could then be spent (if so desired) to just be more "MIscs" (from the spell slot)

If there's a misc that does .5 to Ice incoming damage and +50 to DEX and LUK, why not have a quick cast that does the same thing, for 3 turns, at Misc's typical per turn upkeep X3?

Staff could create several quick cast ideas, even say, in the Ranger class shop, that could cater to a niche . 3 turn poison inflict upon a landed hit, anyone? Like a misc might do? These types of quick casts could then fill up the spell slots of non Mages and non BM's alike, or anyone who wishes to use them instead? This expands options.

Thoughts?

Non-mages shouldn't really have access to the spell slots at all. The 20-turn formula assumes:

Warrior: 20 * 100 = 2000% melee [Weapon]
Mage: (16 * 75) + (4 * 200) = 2000% melee [Weapon + Spell]

Under these assumptions, everything lines up. However, it also means that Mages need both a Weapon and a Spell to deal the same amount of damage as a Warrior over 20 turns, which requires an additional slot. Spell slots are therefore more limited for Mages than other builds. The exception to this are Beastmasters (who also use the slots for Guests). The existence of skills that are based on neither INT nor act as calls/summons is therefore a deliberate bias towards those builds.

On this basis, no, we don't need additional ways for Warriors and Rangers to exploit these slots (at least, not without also giving those options to Mages).

I feel these options are for mages, too, just there would just have to be decisions made

I also feel your argument could be made for existing stuff, such as una poca, moonwalkers, arcane amp, buffalo, edok's, etc etc etc etc etc etc and therefore, maybe you should advocate for these items removal altogether to bolster your argument?

They exist, and SP is build agnostic, so why not give EVERYONE a few more options? My idea is a bit more scaled back in power compared to existing stuff, even.

My issue is not that these items exist. I only argue that we shouldn't go out of our way to deliberately make these items when non-mages shouldn't really have access to them to begin with.

Cray already told you about the problems with the current quickcast economy. I believe it would be wise to discuss how we limit quickcast effects before advocating for a new range of them.

Limit-> misc standards, 1 cast per turn.
