We continue the ongoing project of updating one of Falerin's greatest legends - The Devourer Saga! Adding new challenges with updated tiers and rewards along the way. This trio of quest and cuscenes begins the awakening of The 'Galin! Make sure you stop by the Memorial Shop and pick up the new Kurgweenboh Pet.

Updated 7.5K Hulk Shogun and Anatsu Guest Contract:
Call forth the mercenary duo Hulk Shogun and Ansatsu to destroy your enemies! Just make sure you have the gold to pay them for their incredibly powerful Fire and Wind attacks!

Updated 6K Lazer Blazer Armor:
Fashion meets function in this little number from Lazer(TM) Clothiers! Not only does it offer excellent defences and a style that can't be matched, but it also lets you fire and control lasers! Pew pew!

Make sure you stop by the Memorial Shop and pick up the new Kurgweenboh Pet too.

I am quite nervous regarding the update to the Shogun guest. They seem fine where they currently were.

Lazer Blazer definitely needed an update. A very interesting and unique mechanic but not good at all in a practical sense.

Also, can we get an update to last week's release?

 Interested to know what this new pet will do. If it's anything like its YGO reference, it'll likely have some damage-reduction effect. Maybe a once-per-battle effect you can activate it so you take reduced damage for that turn? Which would be nice to have; we don't have a lot of damage reduction effects that come from the pet slot (Spotter Drake, PeaceZard, Groundhog, and Royal Cake are the ones I can name. One is an LTS item, cake is premium, and PeaceZard is outdated). Also interesting to see how the cutscenes are getting updated - I had the impression that since those had no questing and only dialogue they were going to just be skipped over and we could go straight into a Huntress update. But if there's going to be new items now, that would be awesome!

Hopefully it's a toggle for Shogun. Clicking every turn is a bit of a hassle... Lazer Blazer can definitely use some love but it would be a shame if it lost its unique mechanic.

Updating old contract guests with toggles is always nice. I'm hoping they get the Nezujimbo sometime soon, that one's still kind of awkward.

I am also a bit excited and nervous for shogun. I agree that a toggle is desperately needed for it, it really is a pain using it sometimes.

 Before the update is released - Not sure which of the 4 event panels is going to get switched out but it's worth noting that Pawn Race and Checkmate will both be in limbo since ChessMaster's quest hub doesn't have those quests in it yet should those get switched out.

Thanks so much! Also this is actually huge. Especially for an upcoming Gold Donation Contest that will presumably happen again in around 90 days give or take. Though I'm already satisfied with my purchases I can only imagine if someone really wanted to try to get a top tier prize for that, buying Spirits would be an easy way to win said top prizes.

As for my thoughts on this release:

Carpe Somnia: An Energy/Ice Compression Shield? Finally, a permanently available compression shield that isn't a combination of Fire or Dark! Though shields already offer an incredible amount of value these days more options are always welcome.

Kurgweenboh looks interesting. It seems you'd primarily use this against enemies with high darkness modifiers. IE Light Monsters. Could see this having niche use cases for Blarney or events with lots of Light monsters or just monsters with high darkness modifiers.

The Statues look interesting, although I can't imagine too many people will be buying them right now given the contests are reaching their final stages and people are likely saving for a last push on the last day. Optico is nice for those whom can't get Cracked Ornament and you can use auto-hit weapons to get around the -MRM/BTH penalties. It could have potential for beastmaster builds and certain pets/guests with increased damage MC/flavors. Mutter looks like it'll be useful for boss battles or caster-type enemies. L'ouie seems like it's best for those who want to do dodgelashing and missed the opportunity to buy the Chaosborn sets. As I'm saving up my tokens right now, looking at just the info subs I can see potential but testing them out will probably happen later. Perhaps on Black Friday I might buy these.

Shogun+Anstatsu got its well-deserved QoL update so that it automatically performs transactions. It doesn't look like the raw numbers got changed so I can only assume the current owners will be happy with that and may even use it more now that it's far more convenient to use.

Looking forward to Lazer Blazer's update when that can happen.

As for the quests, nothing much seems to have changed (except for the scaling update applied to the monsters in Day at the Inn), the fact we don't have to click into the small text bubbles is a very welcome change.

 The release is live! Imr is still working on the Lazer Blazer updates and that should be coming next week. Also all Spirit Miscs Z-Token Packages have returned permanently.

Wow, wow, wow! Some absolutely amazing items this release. Thank you. These are the types of items that players want to see!

Kurgweenboh, way too niche. Even at 100% Darkness res it's barely worth using. Might need a small buff.

Optico, excellent combined with stuff like Fae Wanderer or any other healing pet. Status potence is nice but otherwise not the main attraction of the item. Easy 10/10.

Mutter, decent. 120+ MP damage and 70+ SP damage without boosts. Reliant on damage-boosting to really make it shine. Not sure if the secondary hits can miss or are reliant on the HP attack landing. 7/10.

L'ouie, another fantastic item. Mainly for Dodgelash builds. On top of having inherent 10 blocking, it does 200-300 Harm damage per successful block/dodge without boosts. 10/10.

Shogun & Ansatsu. My worries were completely unfounded. Nice QoL changes. Also can we get confirmation if there are any changes to its bth leans? New info subs doesn't mention anything regarding it.

Carpe Shield. Standard Ice and Energy compression shield. Only get it if you need the compression.

While the statues are very good, they are all token items only. Would advise waiting till BF sales to get them which really isn't that far away

Don't mind if I ask when will the Orange Shield Cake shop as well as the standalone Umbral Walker of Time shop be implemented? About the items, the shield is pretty nice. I was initially expecting an Ice Cweam pet actually.

From my understanding of the info subs on it (I haven't bought it yet) it's not an elemental hit, it's not based on your weapon, it's a set amount of damage based on % melee. Elevuln or ele-empower shouldn't affect it in any amount.

My own testing in this video seems to suggest otherwise. 200+% elevuln almost doubled the amount of damage to MP and SP I dealt. I just tested it again off camera and it's no coincidence, pretty sure Elevuln affects it. I don't think it's a bad thing though, it can stay the way it is
