That was an interesting quest.

Respects to Serenia for sacrificing her divinity (and possibly more) and Warlic for being metal enough to burn a dude alive.


One thing that did kinda feel out of place is calling the bad guys 'bandits'. These guys are clearly so much more than that. They have a king, a supply line, coordination sufficient enough to have multiple armed teams working together, and an intelligence network that spans across multiple kingdoms. That's more than we can say for... hell, anybody except Deren? Maybe?

 They have been trying very hard to present as bandits, and it's been hinted at with recent Guardian appearances that normally disparate bandit clans are coordinating more. The key word being more, as we've now shown that there are some going significantly astray. These rifts in their cooperation may well be how the name of a Bandit King leaked to the Guardians in the first place. So while there is clearly a greater organization behind many outlaws now, they continue to be named that in-game until more information is known.

(As a hint, the use of that name alone doesn't entail military might nor coordination on the scale of a kingdom, though it certainly tries to invoke that image internally.)

We haven't actually seen military might or coordination on the scale of a kingdom from kingdoms, though. Everything is done by exceptional individuals or small groups of elites. Hell, Lucretia single-handedly provides all potion support for every single war on the continent!

I guess it makes sense in a world with RPG mechanics, where low-level people simply can't compete regardless of their number, but it does mean that when we see large-scale coordination and cooperation it immediately stands out.

 That's actually more of a matter of conservation of detail for what's on screen at any given time rather than everything being done by elites, though it's the very issue details like this seek to address. The logistics of each state are often implied or alluded to rather than shown, especially when it comes to entire armies, but they have been acknowledged more over time. In particular, the ongoing Knight rewrite includes this detail:

Tathlin: A Knight is an elite member of a noble order created or recognized by their kingdom. They generally swear fealty to their kingdom and lead its armies in times of war.


That quote establishes a distinction between knights and the general armed forces to clarify that infantry armies aren't exclusively composed of an impossible amount of knights. The main story generally focuses on the most important characters due to time and Flash limitations, but the rank and file are very much there.

Nivp's unofficial launcher can do it for you. Just enter the amount of z-tokens you want to spend (2x the amount during Black Friday discount) and it automatically buys and opens the proper number of GGBs.

Although we already know what the Dyana's Omen and Serenia's Insight does, it would be good if we can still get the official info subs for them.
