Book 3: Convergence - The Flame Within
Hey there, heroes!

This week, it's time to begin the assault on the Rose encampment! Book 3: Convergence continues with The Flame Within!

Your allies have been gathered, and the Magesterium have made a plan of attack. There's no more time to waste. Gather your inner flame, and join your allies new and old to bring the fight to The Rose!

Head over to Outpost Yeden to play this week's release: The Flame Within!

Also this week, new IceWept cosmetic items are now available from the cosmetics shop!

The IceWept Helmet and IceWept Wings are now available for 300 Dragon Coins each!

Finally this week, a number of bug fixes and adjustments!
  • Removed links to the non-existent Robina and Mysterious Stranger zones in the Wrath of Xan versions of Falconreach.
  • Fixed an issue in the final cutscene of Sir Ano's "There's No Place Like Oaklore" quest where there was an extra copy of Sir Ano.
  • Fixed getting stuck in the top left corner when returning from the Vurrmen Ruins in Book 1 Oaklore.
  • You can now click to skip the Oaklore intro cutscene in both Book 1 and 3.
  • Added a skip button to the second cutscene in "Sands of Eternity".
  • Fixed a bug where you could go straight down from the first room of "Xan Hates Imps" and get stuck.
  • Fixed an issue with Panther enemies where they were unselectable.
  • Fixed an issue with female Elite Vampires where they were unselectable.
  • Fixed an issue with some Bears where they were unselectable.
  • Fixed an issue with Lemony Persnickety where they were inconsistently selectable.
  • Fixed an issue with the Magester enemy where their selection arrow was in front instead of above.
  • Fixed an issue with Dandytiger, Sandylion, Flatrose, and Primroe, where their selection arrow was in front instead of above.
  • Fixed an issue with Opticlops where their selection arrow was in front instead of above.
  • Fixed an issue with Gananana where their selection arrow was in front instead of above.
  • Removed the old yellow highlight on mouseover from as many Lizardmen and Desert Lizardmen that I could find.
  • The interface will now properly display monster HP/MP info when it's their turn in battle.

And that's all for this week!

What a beautiful scene. The Rose encampment right next to the Fissure, the Mana Tree towering over it, and the distant mountains of Kaer Sierra to the north. The final stage is set.
spoiler:

I really liked that dialogue with the Hero and their Dragon. The Hero is understandably conflicted about fighting the people they're meant to protect, some of which may have actually been inspired to join the Rose because of them. But at the end of the day they know they must stop Akanthus and Jaania, even if it means going through the people they're hiding behind.

I'd forgotten the Hero was completely in the dark about what had happened to Alexander too. It's good to have confirmation that he isn't in pain anymore as well, and that he isn't motivated to do harm now that his anger and hate has burned away. Interestingly he still seems to be a capable pyromancer, despite everything. I'm curious how he'll make use of his power in the future.

I'm pretty sure Jaania was undergoing Synchronisation with Hesperrhodos at the end there. She's already formidable on her own, and she'd truly be a force to be reckoned with if we end up fighting her in that state. Ah man, but before that we'll have to go through Ahimsa and Tipu. I've liked them ever since they were introduced in a design notes post years ago now, I was really into their backstory and Laken's old art still holds up so well. It's gonna be hard meeting them again as enemies.

Ya know it somehow didn't even remotely cross my mind that Jaania could use synchronization for combat as a new weaver. Combine the weaving with the prowess she has as a powerful ice mage and it becomes easy to see how much of a problem she's going to be.

I'll admit I'm somewhat intrigued what comes of the last two surviving members of Pelekoa though now that I think about it it is somewhat of a shame they we haven't seen much of them since the epilogue of Calamity and even then that encounter was pretty brief. Though I guess it makes sense since they are Jaania's guards.
