Could we get CC and Non-CC versions of the stretch goal related items that we've unlocked and may unlock by the end? Some generally prefer the original item colors instead.

+1 to what Dreiko said. Fungibushi never got its non-CC versions either.

Yes, all unlocked community prizes will include both CC and non-CC versions!

The Ironhoof prizes are on track for delivery tomorrow, with the exception of the armor. Ianthe is wrapping up work on the crit/ls update, which turned into a massive 6 week project and included a large number of equipment updates. She will be tackling the armor next!

The Back-to-School Golden Giftbox release is coming up next week, followed by the Rubicon Legionnaire set the following week.

Whew. The donation contest is finally over.

Did not expect that much sniping toward the end. I was shocked to see some players who were in the Top 25 just 20 minutes before the cutoff drop all the way out of the Top 50. I almost didn’t log in today. Really glad I did.

Anyway, I noticed Aegon narrowly missed the Top 5. It’d be awesome if he could still get a Giftmaster ticket. Also, it looks like Ironborn just missed the Top 50 again. Maybe consider nudging the armor cutoff slightly so he gets in? I mean, Ironborn kinda needs to have Ironhoof. It fits his name so well.

Thanks for the donations everyone.

Yeah it would be nice if Aegon could still get a Giftmaster ticket. Also for some of those who are close to top 50 but missed it, it would be awesome for them to get the Ironhoof armor as well

Would be nice if aegon also got the dev ticket but understandable if its impossible. Also top 50 was hell this year would be nice if we could extend it to top 60 or at least 58.

@The Hollow Over 300k tokens donated for top 58 do you think you could make an exception for the armor this year as well? It doesn't seem right people can spend all this money and not get the armor.

I vouch for Demon Lord Aegon gaining a ticket with how close he is to the top 5 spot himself.

Alongside how top 200 and 201 is just a 25 z token difference

I hope the armor is extended to like top 54, with the gap there being so extreme just a little more time I'm sure one of them would have outranked the other. With the top 50 and 51 basically just a 1k difference.

Aside from that, this has been experience, I'm glad staff give out mechanics before the set is dropped. Would love to see this become a permanent addition to the competition. It even motivated me to donate more.

What a fantastic contest this was! I appreciated the change to the token distribution, and came away with quite a nice haul for my efforts. Great work, everyone, and special thanks to the eternally gorgeous top donors for your contributions! I can't wait to see the prizes rolled out.

The dev ticket should remain for just the top 5. If further exceptions are made then ones who donated could have saved tokens. This would invite expectations where in future events there'd be fewer donations because of lesser urgency for top placements. This should be true for every reward threshold. It's up to staff though and exceptions have been made but it shouldn't be expected always.

Going forward it would be nicer if placements for rewards were expanded by 25-50 for each. Amount can vary too. But this should be made known on event start not after it ends. It's unfortunate to miss out but this is the risk with competing. You sometimes lose.

From what I can tell, some exceptions were made this year as well.

It's getting pretty clear these donations should start using the tiered reward system from AQW. Either that or have both i.e. top 50 or 310k+ donations, whichever is lower, get the top 50 prize guaranteed.

edit: cleaned up post a little to get straight to the point.

I'm genuinely not sure why it has taken so long for me to reach the conclusion that my supporting of this game was simply against my better judgement.

To make so-called “competitions” in the form that exists in this game is, in my opinion, not only manipulative but to make a complete travesty of the spirit of the term.

This community won't be hearing from me again.

I want to stress that this is a personal decision that I believe is in my own best interest, and that the decisions made by the developers of where the cut-off points fell has not contributed to it.

As one of the people that got excluded in the extra extension I feel like it should have been an even top 30 that got the CC rather than the odd number picked instead. If the rules are getting bent for an extension anyway might as well bend it to a nice even number as being right on the line seeing someone else get CC while denied by a single placement doesn't feel great.

I don't have any particular problem with the staff making exceptions regarding those receiving prizes from the donation contest. However, I do think that it's important for them to be consistent with the exceptions they make. It's extremely strange that @Red Blood has not been given access to the colour-custom Ironhoof armour after only falling 3600 Z-Tokens short of the goal, when other examples have been handed exceptions despite them being further away from their respective threshold.

My point is neither that Red Blood should be an exception, nor that other players should have their exceptions revoked. The staff reserve the right to determine who is eligible for the prizes and, while I think they have a valid reason to be upset, Red Blood has no real argument for receiving the prize. They fell short of the stated Top 25 cutoff, after all. Nonetheless, I think the staff also have a responsibility to be make fair decisions, and this choice doesn't appear to be particularly fair to Red Blood. Perhaps there's a good reason why, but it's not immediately obvious just from looking at the leaderboard. If there is a good reason why, I'd encourage the staff to make it publicly known.

While on the subject of rather baffling decisions, it seems that several have been made lately. I won't rehash my warnings about the estate fountain here, suffice to say that it was a strange item with a cobbled together 'solution' that's going to have some long-term implications.

More relevant to this thread: I'm unsure whose idea it was to provide a fixed release time of approximately 3PM EST 08/01, but it was very clearly an unreasonably tight deadline. It's not exactly unusual for items in AQ to be released with a bug or two; that's only to be expected with the extremely short turnaround times and limited manpower. That especially applies at busy times like the one we're in now. With that said, there is simply no excuse for the items that were released on Friday. Never mind bugged, they were barely functional. The only thing on the shield that worked somewhat normally was the turn skip feature (which now, rather ironically, has had a 'fix' applied which softlocks the game). The misc was released with crit lean modification disabled and its extra hits can't crit, completely defeating the purpose of having them (something I aired my concerns about on the design thread). The weapon wasn't released at all; it was just a placeholder. We already knew that the armour was going to be delayed, but these items should never have been released in such a state. I'm unsure if there was a miscommunication behind the scenes, but I'd much prefer to wait an extra day than have a broken mess released at the allotted time.

I don't want this to come across as too harsh. I'm well aware that the staff is working flat out right now, and they have limited capacity for fixes. Nonetheless, both of the decisions discussed above are always done during a period of intense pressure, and they still absolutely need to be done right.

Maybe could be because the 50 is to actually getting the armor or not getting it at all while the cc is well, just color not as important as losing the armor all together? I think there shouldnt be any exceptions at all but what are you going to do when everyone is crying on the forums?

I think one solution could be to have it as it was years ago when you couldnt see the actual amount people donated, just the placement.
It would lower chances of making all this drama.

I don't know that this is the right way forward, either. The number being visible gives people clear goals to strive for, rather than simply plunking tens or hundreds of USD into a black box and hoping your name makes it onto the leaderboards. And my impression has been, as with exclusive items (i.e. frostval, donation items, etc.) and titles only available by beating challenging enemies, that the playerbase as a whole enjoys bragging at least a little bit about what they have and what they've done.
